Named after the famous geisha district, Gion in Kyoto, Japan. Gion Beverly Hills is the first and only traditional Japanese tea house that features actual geisha from Japan. We offer the rare opportunity to view a live geisha performance and have interactions with the artists. Along with the geisha show we also serve delicious tastes of Japan inspired by Kyoto’s four seasons accompanied by a tea ceremony featuring wagashi(traditional tea ceremony dessert).

Enjoy this special opportunity to see an authentic Geisha performance by the first and only Geisha outside of Japan. Be on of the few to witness this cultural experience while enjoying your choice of Organic Japanese teas from Kyoto and a tasting of Wagashi (traditional Tea Ceremony Confection). This is a one of a kind moment and seating is limited to no more than 6 guests in order to preserve the appreciation of the fact that meeting a Geisha is rare even in Japan for most as the tea houses in which they showcase their art form are often invite only and closed to the public. Gion Beverly Hills is Offering this experience as an introduction of Geisha Culture to our new customers and to the United States for the first time in history.

Geisha Show + Traditional Japanese Tasting | $495. Our traditional Tokyo Maiko geisha show (Matsunoya Corporation) is accompanied by a traditional Japanese tasting. The tasting menu includes nine different seasonal dishes. The menu is seasonal and as a result changes frequently with Kyoto's four seasons. This is a sample menu from Winter 2022. The tasting is served with sweet corn potage, Kyoto pickles, koshihikari rice, and homemade miso paste. Below are some of our current selections

Elegant shucked oysters that are topped with uni (sea urchin), kaluga caviar, and edible gold leaf flakes

Fresh Japanese tuna toro that's served on shredded daikon root, and a shiso leaf. And served with wasabi
Grilled Yellowtail
Japanese yellowtail that's smooth and buttery. Has nutty undertones

Japanese prawn that's cooked in a dashi broth with soy sauce, sake, and mirin
Crab Sunomono
Sweet and tangy cucumber salad that's topped with fresh crab meat
Hijiki Salad
Hijiki from the rocky coasts of Japan. Tossed with tofu and edamame
Daigaku Imo
Japanese sweet potatoes that are deep-fried in hot oil, and then candied in a sticky honey glaze

This is a rare and potentially once in a lifetime opportunity to meet certified Geisha and Maiko from Japan. As someone who has a lot of business ties to Japan, I know first hand that this kind of experience is not easy or cheap to book even for Japanese in their home country. (In Japan Geisha will only perform and meet clients by referral and these people do not easily refer strangers as they are often VIP types.) The fact that you'll get to see and meet culturally protected icons here outside Japan and get to actually interact with them is something you cannot easily put a price on. Once this tea room is completed and properly opened, I am pretty sure I will be unable to have another one of these experiences due to it always being reserved months in advance. I will never forget the amazing food, tea ceremony, and the incredible sweets I was able to taste in the presence of professional Geisha who have dedicated their entire lives to their craft. Don't miss out and hurry to book your opportunity, this is probably your only chance!
