Always a great dining experience. Highly recommended. An absolutely classic and classy restaurant. Love the wine selection . My only minor gripe is my Cioppino had a thicker sauce as opposed to a traditional broth. The sauce was like a full flavored tomato bisque. It overpowered the seafood.

We hadn't been to Giovanni's in at least 10 years, and wondered how it had weathered the pandemic storm. Glad to report: no damage we could find. It certainly is one of the most pricey places in town, but it's one that can justify its high cost by providing a classic old-world dining experience. If you like this sort of high-style European restaurant -- and as long as you won't be put off by the high prices -- we highly recommend Giovanni's.

I love Giovanni’s. I go regularly for lunch, and love the staff and crowd. There has never been a meal I’ve been anything less than pleased with, as well.

Very overpriced restaurant. Food was mediocre at best and service not even close to justifying price. This place has gone downhill big time in recent years. Many better choices for Italian.

1. Took an extremely long time for the main courses to come out. 2. I ordered Dover Sole---no price listed on the menu---market price. That was ok but it should have been served table side but it wasn't. 3. Extremely loud in the dining room.

I frequent Giovanni’s, and have for years, and to for years to come. Wether it is for lunch, a business lunch, meeting friends, or a romantic evening out, Giovanni’s never misses! Try the bar… if you’re lucky enough to get a seat. It’s where the who’s who of the East side done and drink.

A spectacular evening with some of the best food you will ever have. A calamari appetizer that could be a main course, the pasta is perfect (penne with vodka cream sauce) and the veal (piccata) was sublime. Couldn't have asked for a better way to spend a night out.

We have been to Giovannis many times. I consider it to be one of the best restaurants in the Cleveland area, but not tonight. They were clearly having an off-night. On past occasions, they consistently scored 5 stars for me. They barely made four stars this time. Hey, the demand for a great restaurant to be at the top of its game all the time is occasionally overwhelming. I forgive them with the hope that next time will be better.

Staff is always welcoming and attentive but never intrusive. The food is fabulous, delicious with a beautiful presentation. The scallops are sweet and complemented by the sides of cauliflower, peas and asparagus. The side of Brussels sprouts are perfectly caramelized with a touch of salt from bacon and a perfect zing of balsamic vinegar to make them even more delectable. I love this place!

Everything about our entire experience was complete 5/5. From the hostess to our server. Derek our server was attentive and professional, going out of his way to make sure my dietary restrictions were accommodated. My as well as my wife’s meals were perfect, our appetizers were perfect, the staff never faltered on making sure our water glasses were filled and the support staff for bringing bread/bussing the table were all fantastic. You could go over the entirety of this experience with a fine toothed come and excellence would be the only thing that you’d come up with. I’d rate my experience as excelsior with no caveat in its entirety.

The food was off tonight. We had fish. It was a bit dry. We also ordered short ribs. They were intensely fatty and did not have a lot of flavor. It was not played well. The plate was overflowing and spilled all over onto the table it made it difficult to eat. This was addressed with management. Sat outside, which was really nice. Our server was very good.

Allam was our server and the best we have ever had! She catered to our every need and had plenty of help along the way. 5 Star service along with the food and surroundings. We celebrated a birthday and they brought a surprise ice-cream in the end. Every detail was perfect. Highly recommend a visit and ask for this server, she was the best!

For a restaurant of this caliber we expect to know if they are out of certain food/wines. They were out of the champagne. Then we switched to wine. They opened the bottle. Never poured for a tasting and left bottle our table. I had mentioned it was our anniversary. No mention of anything special. Disappointed

This was not my first time at Giovanni’s and I have to say, I was surprised by the experience - not in a good way. First, the service was not up to par. Next, it seemed way overpriced. I called ahead about my dietary issues and they said it was not a problem. I ordered pasta with vegetables with marinara on the side. The food came with the sauce on the dish. Further, they charged me for a dish the has some type of meat. My appetizer came about 10 minutes after the rest of the table. The food was fine, it. Oy a good as it has been on the past. We went for our anniversary and they did bring us a bowl of spumoni with a candle, which was nice.
