Gourdans St Clements invites you to enjoy our carefully selected range of speciality steaks, matured in house served with allumettes frites, complimented with a range of house sauces. Established and serving Steak Frites since 2015 locally in Oxford and around the UK, our expanded menu offers well sourced produce to create classic dishes inspired by our love of food. Daily baked bread and day boat fish from the south coast, can be enjoyed with a variety of plant-based plates of European influence, prepared on hot coals to provide a subtle and distinctive flavour.     Had a dinner here on a Saturday evening, our server was polite and recommended we share the porterhouse steak to share, it was delicious and conked really well to medium rare, it came with various accompanists which were all excellent and really good value overall. Drinks were also good as well. Overall really happy with the food and experience

    Birthday treat for my son. Shared the courgette starter and a terrific Porterhouse cooked to perfection. Interesting beer selection provided the perfect accompaniment. Friendly and attentive staff. Brilliant - thank you.

    Probably the best steak I’ve ever had - we shared a Porterhouse cooked to perfection with very tasty shallots & salad and a huge bowl of hot crispy fries!

    I love this little place. The food is always great- service super friendly. They have expanded their fish offerings it seems which works for me- and their courgette fries are AMAZING. It isn't an inexpensive dinner, but it an authentic local favourite for us.

    Been to Gourdans previously and, once again, the place did not disappoint. Food is excellent and well-priced, owners and staff are friendly and helpful and the place has a relaxed but welcoming atmosphere. I've been to comparable places in London e.g. Zelman meats and Gourdan's stacks up favourably in taste and value. Strongly recommended!

    We had the most amazing service from Gourdans. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and it was the perfect place to celebrate. They helped with food choices without being pushy and the drinks were amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys steak.

    I have been to Gourdans Frites on several occasions It never disappoints. Great food, the steaks are the best, tender and succulent . The service is friendly and attentive. It is excellent value for money. Will be back again soon.

    Good menu options including a ‘demi steak’ which was just the right size for me. Good wines to choose from and a decent dessert menu which is always important! The food is outstanding, really good quality and delicious. The team are welcoming and can advise about wines and any aspects of the menu. Would definitely recommend and will definitely go back.

    The service was great with the somewhat complex choice of specials explained well. Wine choice limited but thoughtfully chosen. Only fault was that one item on the menu that wasn’t available was not known by the serving staff until after two of the party had ordered it. The quality of the steaks is superb, the best I have had ANYWHERE (UK and overseas)

    Excellent service. Right amount of attention given. Very adroit waitress. Noise level acceptable for a busy night. On the whole a wonderful experience I and my dining colleagues would be happy to repeat.

    Fantastic find…will definitely be back! We decided to go for the rump, as a good steak restaurant should be able to cook a rump well and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Beautifully presented and great value. Very generous portions of fries were included and choose a couple of sides that were huge too. No room for dessert unfortunately. Can’t wait for an excuse to re-visit!

    Nice, cozy neighborhood place; decent steak, generous fries, decent red wine, generous sized chocolate mousse. Friendly owner-managed staff. Reasonable prices. Next time, we’ll try the mussels and a fancier steak.

    Have eaten from their vans but first time at the restaurant. Fantastic steak and great wine list too! Owner very interactive and informative about produce and ingredients making it a really nice, welcoming night.

    From booking to paying the experience was just perfect... We had the Rump Cap (Picahna) which was cooked too perfection and was melt in the mouth delicious..

    Good food and good service, only small criticism would be with starter , deli board we had the six choices , three cheese , three meat. On arrival was beautifully presented but... it was all mixed so I was unable to tell the difference between 2 of the three meats and the 3 cheeses which I’d never had before and was looking to trying , but wanted to know which was which. I could have asked a waitress, but they were very busy and I just think in the future would be nice to distinguish between the choices.

    Service was friendly and the atmosphere was really nice. We ordered the house pickles which we didn’t realise only consisted of 3 small pickles and other pickled veg. Was a little disappointed. The burrata salad special had a very acidic dressing which was off putting, a shame as the rest of the dish was great. We had the same issue with the aioli, again very acidic. Steak was cooked perfectly as were the fries. Hopefully it was an off day in the kitchen as we really like the vibe of the restaurant and the concept and would be up for giving it another try in the future.

    Such a lovely unique venue to try in St Clements. The food was amazing, the menu wasn't full of lots of things, it was instead hand picked items with high quality ingredients. I'm drooling just thinking of how good the steak was, with the most generous bowl of frites! We also had desserts, all three of us picking something different each as delicious as the next. Will definitely be returning!
