Gracias Madre - West Hollywood
The idea of Gracias Madre was first conceived while visiting the families of our employees in Mexico. We wanted to do both; offer organic Mexican food to the communities we serve as well as honor the mothers who work tirelessly in the kitchens of Mexico and often live without their husbands and children while they work side by side with us in California. Inspired by some of the recipes of these families and the love of their mothers, Gracias Madre serves organic, farm fresh, locally sourced food, full of flavor and love with a menu spearheaded by Executive Chef Mario Roberto Orellana and agave-based cocktail program by Beverage Director Maxwell Reis.

Food was served lukewarm, service was mildly attentive at best, and general ambience seemed tight with extra tables being added into the back to accommodate outdoor only seating.
The food was amazing and the service was great!
Service was poor but the food and drinks were amazing.
Friendly staff, beautiful setting, delicious food. I love this place!
I've never had a bad experience here, but we went last night and it seemed off.
The service was great, very attentive and the food came out quickly. The first two starters were great, well balanced with a good sized portion. The issue was with the mains. Firstly, we got a salad that was so bitter and sour it dried your tongue out. Again, the service was great, we changed salads and the Caesar was awesome.
My main gripe is the mushroom fajitas... they aren't fajitas. We were expecting a sizzling skillet packed with mushroom straps, peppers and onions with lots of wraps and some rice to make our own. What came out was pathetic. 5 single strips of mushroom, about 2/3 of a pepper and maybe 1/16 of an onion, and THREE TINY WRAPS. The food sat there looking lonely and miserable on a cold white plate, the wraps were cold and 3 wraps wasn't enough even for the $75c of food on the plate. It cost $23!!!! Twenty three dollars for, at best, a dollar's worth of food.
Arguably the worst vegan dish I've had in years.
The service and ambiance saved the place. My advice is get all the starters, avoid the mains.
Favorite restaurant in SoCal, but the food was very different than it was a few months ago (pre-covid). Was wondering if there was a different chef. Definitely not the quality I'm used to. Still beautiful ambience, nice server and cocktails were great as usual.
Very nice overall
Great outdoor dining, excellent service, food was quite good.
I was so impressed with the measures they're taking to help stop the spread of COVID. Social distancing at check-in along with temp check. The patio tables are well spaced and they do a great job of seating people as spaced out as possible. The food is always amazing, but this new menu truly goes above and beyond!
The precautions made us feel safe. Food and ambiance were as good as ever.
My birthday was so much fun! I love this place .cant wait to visit again
Gracias Madre has become one of my favorite restaurants over the years. The service and food are always great. My boyfriend also had never tried Mezcal and our waiter was so knowledgeable on the different types of Tequila and had so many recommendations! We love it!
I felt very safe eating here, and the food was wonderful. Highly recommend the cauliflower starter and the brownie for dessert. Everything was amazing.
Fun outdoor happy hour. New social distancing protocol is well thought out.
It was my friends last night in LA and we wanted a special experience. This was that! The margaritas are amazing, menu is great, dessert was outstanding! I love this place
I love it here the outside patio is beautiful. Service was a little slow in the beginning but other than that the food was very good and the drinks are fantastic.
Food is always amazing! We felt very comfortable dining on the patio, safe practices by staff and diners.
Even with a limited menu, there was great entrees to choose from. A much needed dinner out.
I accidentally scheduled a reservation for Saturday night at 830pm. Showed up Friday night thinking that was my reservation. The gentleman that greeted us was kind and said he needed to talk to the head hostess. She was so kind and was sure to get us seated. I will absolutely be back. I am unsure if the food on the menu was limited due to corona, but a larger selection is recommended. The enchiladas were excellent. We chose guacamole as an appetizer - which was good, but I was looking for something else a bit different. Next time will select the corn.
All in all, I loved the space. I loved the kindness, enjoyed the food, and will gladly be back. Please thank the front-house for working us in.
excellent 3rd date. thank you for the quality of everything! We'll be back. Stephan
Absolutely loved this place, clear they are taking many precautions re Covid and that they care a lot about the safety of their customers and staff. The patio area is beautiful and has such a great vibe.
As usual, the food is delicious. Im not a vegetarian and you will not miss the meat at all! The street corn appetizer is excellent and the enchiladas. Our drinks were also fantastic.
This place is perfect for outdoor dining. Patio is beautiful. They took every precaution tip keep diners apart. Staff is well protected.
Service was ok, food wasn't as delicious as before quarantine.
Grad school acceptance
Delicious food! We sat outside and there was plenty of space and a beautiful ambience to enjoy our extremely healthy and satisfying meal. We shared the dos bowl and the wet burrito, amazing!
I come to Gracias for years now and I was very disappointed of the food. Our favourite items weren’t there anymore, the dishes looked smaller and kind of moldy. The Caesar salad had a strange stressing and the croutons/crumbs tasted like they have been sitting for months. Also tasted like canola oil. Overall disappointed and I don’t think we are going back again as the quality has dropped down drastically.
Great food. Wonderful outside seating. A good escape.
Absolutely delicious and fantastic! One of the premier spots to eat in LA during the pandemic - mainly bc they're following all protocols and have a lovely patio to eat outside on! The food, the vibe and the gorgeous decorations makes this place a must visit!
Overall my wife and I had an amazing time. The food was delicious! I had the flautas and she had a burrito mojado. We’re not vegan but you couldn’t taste the difference! If I could eat this everyday I could definitely be vegan.
My friend Halima and I were having a friend date tonight at Gracias Madre in West Hollywood. The food, environment, and staff was clean, professional, fun, and exquisite!!! Hector our server was amazing and with the help of Sam ,one of the hostess who helped us, and the rest of the staff, if they could forgive me forgetting their names at the moment, did an amazing job and made us feel like we were dinning in at home with friends/family. And of course, our deepest compliments to the chef whose menu and flavors were divine. Gracias, Madre!!!
The food was extremely delicious and creative menu!
Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, delicious food. A bit pricey but very enjoyable experience. I’m not even a vegan and I loved it.
We loved the food and drinks and the outside patio was very nice. Only thing that bothered us was that they charged for chips and salsa, and then don't give refills on the chips at least... Also the pico de gallo side was very small portion.
While the patio was spectacular, the food was very disappointing, with tiny portions lacking in flavor. We are glad we tried it and the concept is great, but we won’t go back.
Everything was lovely. We were attended to all our needs. Not a fan of the revised menu. Miss your cauliflower and corn from old menu. The cocktails were fabulous
My friend and I stood waiting while the hostess sat other people who came in after we had been checked in. We were standing around so long the assistant manager had to come over and ask the hostess what we were doing standing around! When I asked the assistant manager what was taking so long to seat us he said that a table had to be cleaned but that was a lie because we watched others being seated and noticed that no tables needed cleaning at that time. The seating policy needs to be improved or changed by the owners if in fact, they practice fairness to all races, genders, and others!
Food made us both feel sick
Service was a bit slow this time, but otherwise it was good.
They didn’t have what they offer on the menu. Very limited and not creative.
