Grandview Saloon is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and offers a beautiful view of the city from Mt. Washington. This restaurant has a distinct ambiance that is casual but classy and a team of chefs and wait staff who are there to ensure you have a great meal. There is an outdoor patio and an upper deck which overlooks the city, as well as an elegant dining room indoors. Grandview Saloon also features a mezzanine available for private dining and events. The menu at Grandview Saloon is a great place for simple and well-prepared dishes. You can try the buffalo chicken dip or the BBQ pulled pork nachos. The flatiron steak and lemon pepper chicken are wonderful choices for an entre.

We thought we would try Grandview Saloon since we had not been there in quite a while. The view is amazing. But it's a shame that "amazing" stops there. This place could be a go-to place that has that has spectacular views AND a cool vibe inside, but it lacks in all areas other than just the view. Walking in there is a cramped hallway with a tiny check-in podium. Part of the kitchen is exposed. It's like a split level home. Go up to the diner (yes it looks like a diner) or head down to the bar area with access to the terrace. The restaurant was NOT busy on a Saturday night. We did check out the bar area after dinner to see if we could go out on the terrace to take a few photos. We could not. There were 3 younger guys at the bar- clearly friends of the bartender. That's it. 3. The food is ok. Nothing special about it but the plates. The food isn't terrible. We had crabcakes (a little dry- could use a little cream sauce on the side) crab stuffed mushrooms (good but very, very tiny and placed awkwardly far apart on a platter) calamari (with boring marinara- why not pair it with a second sweet and tangy sauce) Wings- These were really good! Nothing bad to say. Ahi tuna tacos - these were ok There was a berry salad that I wanted on the menu but the server said "oh- we don't have that. It's a summer salad" While our server was adorable, she had to be the most unknowledgeable person there. While asking questions about the food or accompaniments, we received a bunch of "I'm really not sure, I really have no idea, I couldn't tell ya and I don't know" (Wow) Two of us asked for coffee and asked if there was espresso. The server replied, "I don't know what we have, we have a Keurig and those little thingys you put in there". We asked how long she had worked there. She said since last summer! While there were only 4 tables of guests in the whole place, we did run into someone from our Wexford communiy. She said she wanted to try it. She said it's just ok. We will not return.

We got stuck behind a large party. Our server tried her best but we waited over an hour for our main dishes. My father-in-law hates cheese. He ordered a burger w/o cheese. We think the server pulled the cheese off of it behind the wall since there was residual melted cheese on the patty. :( She didn’t write down our order. It made us wonder if she forgot to put in the missing lime slice in the cocktail, request for no cheese on the burger, & our son’s side of bacon.

Our server (Braydon) was excellent. He was very polite and did his job very professionally. The hostess that seated us stuck us in the corner of the room and my husband could not even see the city(I had made reservations ahead of time and requested a window). I asked the server to move us to one of the other tables which all were unoccupied except for one and she said she couldn’t. She asked me how long it was going to take to eat (really stupid question) she had other reservations which no one else came in until we were leaving. Was very disappointed bc it took us 2 hrs to get to the restaurant. The food was horrible, my husbands steak wasn’t done the way he ordered it, they did give him another one, but did not taste good. Potatoes were not cooked, they took the potatoes to fix them, but they still were not cooked, they were hard. I have been to the Grandview Saloon many times over the years and never experienced such a terrible dinner. I don’t mind paying for a meal if it’s good, but we will never return to this restaurant, plus I will never recommend it. They didn’t even have their famous Almond Torte which is still on the menu!!

From the moment we was greeted by hostess , I felt like something was off, we came to celebrate NYE , the service took forever to approach our table drinks took over 30 minutes, a guest at our table got a rum and coke and there was no rum , when we told the server he thought we were crazy, and food was served cold ribs & crab cakes, we asked them to return and it came back reheated from a microwave, some got the ribeye $50 and filet $60 no way the quality was worth the price. Maybe they should’ve considered to have a pre fix menu for the evening, They may have been short staffed, but there were still plenty of open tables, I will not recommend this restaurant unless they work out their issues, only going for this restaurant is the view.

We chose Grandview Saloon becuase it looked like a nice place for NYE dinner. The overall service was great, but the food was not worth the price we paid for it. We even found a hair in our appetizer. It was nice for a bar experience, but as for a nice dinner it has room for improvement.

Very disappointed in the entire experience. Went with my family for New Year’s Eve. If you make reservations for a specific time you would think that you would have a seat in the dining room for that time . (Hence the reservation.) Well that was not the case for me, our seat was on the second floor with NO view of the city and sitting right next to the bathroom. There were just a bunch of tables crammed together and no space to move. When the reservation was made I should have been told that my table may not be in the dining room. I would not have made the reservation. To add salt to the wound the ENTIRE time we were having dinner there were 2 empty tables in the dining room never used. When asked about those tables I was told that they seat those first come first serve. Which didn’t make any sense because I was already there and I was shoved upstairs. As for the food it wasn’t bad. But not the best I’ve ever had especially for the price.

We went to celebrate NYE asked for a table w a view, they sat us in the attic ? Only floor with no view. On NYE, who in their right mind would go there to sit in the attic on NYE? Then no one came up to serve us, the people sitting there already were miserable said they never got waited on they had been there half hour before us. This place is so old, the food is awful, it is run horrible we went for the view and didn’t even get that?! Tear this place down, let someone build something nice:

No wheelchair access. We had to leave because a member of our party is in a wheelchair and the dining areas are either up a flight of stairs or down one. She couldn’t get in. And another person in our party was on crutches, plus two of us had knee problems so the stairs would have been difficult even without the wheelchair. You need to disclose on your website that there is no disability access so people don’t go through the disappointment and inconvenience of changing their plans. It appeared to be a nice restaurant with recent upgrades so the owners have the money to keep the business in good repair. They can add handicap access, too, so everyone can enjoy it.

The view here is amazing. The restaurant itself is over priced. The food was good, not great and for the price point we were expecting more. The setting was more like a diner than an upscale restaurant. (No table linens, paper napkins, etc). The staff was very friendly, and the best part of the meal. We had a nice time but doubt we'd be back, except for maybe a drink or dessert.

Went here with our two boys (14 & 11) after ice skating at Mkt Sq. Chose this place b/c we didn’t think the boys would enjoy Altius or Monterey Bay. We were looking for good food, but casual. We started by ordering hot chocolate. An actual pack of Swiss Miss was delivered to our table followed buy a cup of hot water a few minutes later. This should have been our clue…. The burgers weren’t bvery good. The Mac & cheese was awful…we actually sent it back. My son’s filet was okay, but super expensive for this type of place. We eat out a lot and I don’t mind spending, but this meal was very expensive for the quality. We truly could have gone to Monterey Bay or Ruth’s Chris for the price. Now we know. Won’t be back.

The view is great. Thats where it ends. Ordered a martini.. it took forever to get and was the worst I've had. Ordered seafood.. over cooked fish, presentation was horrible. Had three other guests, their food was also nothing to write home about. two had the tuna which was overcooked. This establishment needs Jon Taffer from "Bar Rescue" to intervene. If want to see the view of the city, see it from the trolly station, then go downtown for food.

90 minutes waiting time. Salad for the food was provided 70 minutes prior to the meal arrived. No water refill, not asking for other glass of wine but paying the full monthy. $ 60 for a cold steak with cold French fries. Terrible. Nothing good to mention? Yes the view is good and the best part of the whole evening was feeding the raccoons which were sitting there the cold fries. A bummer...

Hostess was indifferent. Acted like she could care less if we were there or not. Not sure if she had teeth as she never attempted a smile. Waitress hustled. However she told us she was in training, yet there was no trainer to assist her. Myself and my colleague were served soup without spoons. Asked for spoons. Had to find our own. We waited a long time for the check because our trainer wasn't able to use their cash register to generate it. She stated she wasn't in the system. The dining area inside and out were not busy at all. This was a total management failure. Open your eyes it was plain to see. View, as advertised, is spectacular.

You are paying for the view here. It is a spectacular view, but not worth the price for the lackluster service and so-so food. We had 3 different waitresses, I got the wrong order, the new one didn’t come with the correct sauce and the waitress had no idea what I was taking about. Then I still got charged for the wrong order. The other food in my party was good, not great. Definitely not worth the price.

We took the incline for a great dinner at fantastic views. We sat inside but the patio looks good too. It was expensive but we expected that. My husband had a huge steak and I had salmon. Martinis are good but the view was the best. Try the flatbed appetizer. Its like a small pizza...too much for 2.👏👏

You pay for the view. It was outstanding. The food was very, very average for the price. The service was fine, but it was loud due to the kitchen staff coming out into the dining area to fill up an ice machine. It just seemed too overpriced for the food given the quality of it and the noise. But we did love the views.

Amazing food and view. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the seating outside. We had a great table right by the edge, but the tables were so close together it was like you were having dinner with the people sitting next to you. And also I did not like how they handled seating/waiting. We made a reservation, but there were two people in the table next to us who wanted our seats and were asking when we were going to be finished. I thought it was rude on the people’s part, but I also wondered why they weren’t waiting in a specific area or why they were allowed to jump tables.
