Gunther & Co.
The Gunther is a gem of a restaurant and is so convenient for me to take family, guests and Clients. It is next door to my apartment and never disappoints. The Owner, Nancy always makes certain that we are well taken care of and her staff does the same. I go there frequently because the food is always tasty! The oysters are extremely fresh and it's just overall a great place!
Visiting from out of town - One of the best restaurants I've been to in awhile.
Terrific neighborhood restaurant. Food good. Service good.
This was our second visit to Gunther & Co. We had a party of six this time, & everyone in our party was satisfied with every dish— starters, mains, desserts, & cocktails/wine/beer. Our main waiter was helpful and efficient, and all of the other wait staff were also helpful and polite.
It was our first time there. It did not disappoint. We sat in the window and had a nice street view. Ample parking (which can be an issue in that area). Great service (Christopher). A beautiful baked Alaska was served complimentary to our birthday girl. Have heard that the outside seating is also really nice. Hope to try it out when the weather is nicer.
Amazing service! The food was delicious beginning from the first course all the way to the desserts. Would definitely recommend and try again!
Great food, service and ambiance! I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a great evening.
Our dinner experience was absolutely phenomenal. It was my Mother's birthday and the manager came over to congratulate her with a slice of ice cream cake. Gunther & Co. is one of our favorite restaurants and we go often when my Mother comes into town to visit.
Everything was perfect except the very cold air coming through the exit/delivery door. The cold blows into the main dining room. Otherwise, everything was perfect! Was just a really cold day.
We went for the special Valentine's Day menu. The first two courses were served at virtually the same time.
Since this was going to be the most expensive dinner ever, this to me was a major screw up. The best that they would do was give us a half glass of wine to compensate. Since we already were getting four half glasses with the meal, I thought that this was a very poor solution. The manager didn't even offer to discuss the situation. Very sad!
Unbelievable menu and food. Once again proving that they're the best restaurant in Baltimore!
Family and friends met for brunch and we had an amazing time. Savanah was our server and she was amazing with suggestions for food and drinks. She was also so patient with us as we were catching up and took a while to order. Our food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely look forward to another meal here.
It was the best. I invited a guest and she was absolutely amazed by the ambience, the friendliness and especially the food. Great selection. Shrimp and grit s are flavorful and the biscuits Wow! Meal priced just right.
I returned a second time within the week and again amazed by the experience and exceptional food quality. Colin delivers again and remembered me from Tuesday. He’s great for your establishment and building rapport.
Our waitress was so knowledgeable and she was helpful.
We will be returning and we loved brunch!
Food was outstanding with great service. But dining here is expensive. Seems a bit overpriced.
The food is awesome and the menu offers up some great choices.
We came for lunch and then came back for diner it was that good!! Darling place. Food is super special. Thank you for a great dinner.
We had an an amazing experience at your restaurant. What a beautiful and elegant place and we will return. The food was delicious and well plated and truly made with love. Our waiter, Colin, gave us a tour and he was knowledgeable about his craft. We also enjoyed his infectious personality. Thank you!
They serve a delicious steak tartar!! I highly recommend this place. Super fun and great food.
We sat at the bar and had beyond exceptional service. The brunch was amazing and delicious cocktails. We can not wait to go back.
Amazing decor. Outstanding service. Definitely need to return.
First time at Gunther & Co. and pleasantly surprised, by the ambience, quality of meals, and service. The only reason I’m not giving them five stars is because the level of noise was quite high, and we were the only people there at the time. The music in particular was too loud.
We went for brunch at 12:15. No one else was dinning there!!! I was shocked!!! I don’t want to be the only one sitting in a room by myself. Maybe this place is meant for dinner, because it’s very lonely for brunch.
First time here and we were seated promptly at a 2 top. First thing I noticed is how close you were seated to other diners. I could literally hear conversations on both sides of our table. We may have been 2 feet apart. We were welcomed by our waiter who was very knowledgeable and pleasant. He explained the specials perfectly so I decided to try one. Our appetizer was a meat board with a choice of some cheeses. Nicely presented but not what I expected. Should’ve went with the octopus but I compromised with my better half. The entrée was elegantly presented and quite tasty. I had a surf and turf selection of wagu short rib with a piece of cod. Both were well prepared especially the cod. Better half had the goat cheese ravioli which she enjoyed. We had a bottle of wine which I thought was overpriced for the quality but I blame myself for the choice. Finished with the crème brûlée and a rich piece of chocolate cake with a little ice cream ball which topped off the meal. Overall very pleasant evening. We left satisfied.
So many problems and bad attitudes. The pork chop was mostly fat and not edible. The server did not offer to replace it, we had to insist. The bill had an extra charge automatically added for which we were not informed. It is not the tip, they call it Labor of love to pay for employees health care outside of their work. It is bad business and unethical to bill an extra charge without informing the patron. We were also billed for a small side of orange juice for my beverage, which other restaurants do not charge, also without being informed. We were there to celebrate an Anniversary and not even a sliver of cake was given. This place will not survive with their extra undisclosed charges and stingy practices. Lastly, there are no ladies bathrooms. The bathrooms are shared by males and females. There are far better restaurants with honest and positive practices in the area.
We came for a postponed holiday dinner. We shared roasted oyster app, brussel sprouts, roasted veggies, and flat bread with hummus. It was all tasty except the flat bread was really garlicky and a little too burnt. We had wine and beer. They have a nice selection. The tomato and shrimp soup was excellent per the people who ate it. For dinner, we had the steak fritte with chimichurri sauce - which was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the red fish - which I was told was good, and a chicken sandwich - yummy as well. Service was great!! Would eat here again.
Great food, excellent service, and a very welcoming atmosphere. Everything about our experience was perfect. I can’t think of one thing I didn’t like about Gunther & Co.! I’m definitely coming back next time I’m in the area.
Absolutely delicious meal! All around a positive worthwhile experience
We dined at Gunther and Company with another couple who had not been there before. They were pleasantly surprised and we were not disappointed. As always, the food was simply delicious and our waitress was terrific! I highly recommend the Thai Seafood Hotpot. That is my all-time favorite dish at G&Co. I've eaten it several times and it is simply wonderful. It was actually the reason I booked the reservation. I was truly craving this dish. My brother also tried the hot pot on my recommendation and he totally loved it. He is a chef and thought it offered wonderful textures and complex flavors. My husband and sister-in-law both ordered the scallops over risotto and both said they were delicious. We ordered raspberry point oysters, grilled octopus, cream of tomato/shrimp soup, and the Gunther salad as our first courses. Everyone to a person enjoyed what they ordered and most of us shared and sampled just about everything. All were simply delicious. My sister- in-law remarked that her soup was the best tomato soup she had ever even and she was very happy.
The food and ambiance was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed the lamb and the banana cake and must say if you’re going with an appetite you will not be disappointed. I went with children and they as well loved there choices. The service was also wonderful and will be going back again.
Gunther is one of my favorite restaurants!! I come to the restaurant all the time for brunch and dinner! I have never had a bad experience here! My boyfriend is a chef so it’s always hard to find a place to eat that he likes. He has never complained once! Most of the time we sit at the bar with the bartender Zack! He’s great!
Our entire experience at Gunther & Co was fantastic! The food, decor, service, cleanliness - all 5 star! The host showed us the back dining room and spent time telling us about the owners and the various evening specials. He could not have been nicer. The space is stunningly beautiful. I only wish I had known about Gunther & Co since 2016 when I moved to Baltimore! I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
Shrimp and grits to die for. If you're brunching, go for the Bloody Gunther. The tomato juice base is almost a meal in itself.
always amazing food, service and environment!! Never disappointed ...everyone LOVED their meals. Attention to detail and high level of service five stars !
The food was delicious and the cocktails fresh and strong. Service was exceptional and very friendly.
It was fine. We treated friends who love this place. To me it was just ok. Love the boutique hotel, the best in Key West. The restaurant is just ok.
The service, as always, was perfect!
Food was good but not blown away for the price. Great place for a happy hour as they had extensive wine list and fantastic ambience. Also, we were sitting way to close to the couple next to use - made it hard for us to have a conversation.
Great restaurant with a nice bar. Service was average and the restaurant was crowded for restaurant week. Food was very good, but smaller portions
I would like to try again when it is not Restaurant week. I don't believe the bartenders are up to snuff. Could use more training. Couldn't make a simple drink request. Overall good experience for the dining scene though.
