Great concept and good portion sizes. We especially enjoyed the smores!
This latest visit was my sixth time, since the restaurant was introduced to me by my daughter, the food is always excellent, the service fast and always courteous. the cost per person is reasonable, especially considering the amount of food, you get. I recommend this place to all my friends and acquaintances.
Service was horrible
It was very nice dining experience celebrating my 50th BD with my family. I felt like I was back in Japan for couple of hours. The food was great and the service was exceptional. We drove nearly 3 hours to get there and was worth the drive.
Was one of my most favorite restaurants in NYC, and I am very glad there is now one in ATL that I can now call my favorite. I have already been here a few times since its open.
Not busy, but waiter discourage us from having the all you can eat due to restrictions.
Anyhow, good place for newbies.
It was a great experience we got confused about who our waiter was a few times but the staff walking by was very helpful. Also the whole cook your own meat at the table was pretty fun even though the menu was a bit confusing the food was seasoned and came out pretty great so we will be going back soon.
I wanted to like this place and gave it two tries. Both times I had a reservation and felt like I was inconveniencing the host when I showed up. I had to wait even with a reservation. Both times we had an extended wait at the table before service. The first time we received an explanation on how things worked and how to cook the food. The second time it was a brusque "Do you know what you want?". Hot apps arrived cold and too quickly, as if they had been sitting out waiting. One appetizer was missed. The food we needed to cook arrived with instructions on how long to cook it, but not what it was. You get a lot of little plates with this type of service and the plates weren't cleared. We told our server we would probably order more but no one ever came back to ask if we wanted to order anything else. We had to flag down someone to fill our empty water glasses. They asked how many waters? Umm, all the glasses are empty you can see for yourself. We got our check before being asked for dessert. The person dropping the check walked away before everyone could order dessert. When you walk in they have a sign with their mission statement that lists five things. Number three was a clean bathroom. It was a little off-putting to have your guests thinking about how clean the bathroom was as soon as they walk in. On top of that the bathroom was filthy. During most of our visit the large staff was hanging out with themselves ignoring customers. The best I can say is the food we cooked ourselves was pretty good. But the poor service made it one of the worst dining experience I've ever had.
Great food, great pace, highly recommend. Plenty of options and great quality meat.
Great food and interaction with each other. It let’s you engage in conversation and visit at the same time.
I find a steel wire in my meat, tell the waitress, she just say we use steel wire ball to clean plate. Then, no other words. Unhappy about this
I loved my first visit and made it back again for another great experience. I will be back! Make sure u try the Coco mo!!
We had outstanding service and the food was top notch. I lived in Japan for work and am so glad we have this kind of dining now available. Our only area that needs improvement was the calamari we had as an appetizer was chewy and not good. The sauce it came with was great but it was either undercooked or not fresh because it was rubbery. The couple next to us said the same thing. Our entrees were perfect and we liked the super thin sliced toro and hanger steak marinated in miso. The roasted vegetables were very good as well. We bought a happy hour special they were running that had 6 types of protein and it was way too much for two people so next time we will order ala carts and get toro, hanger steak and garlic shrimp. I think the samplers are a great way to know what you like for first time visitors but it was so much food for two.
My family and I really enjoyed our experience at Gyu-Kaku. ALL of the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant! The food and the prices are Great!! We will definitely be returning very soon!!
This is my first time experiencing a Japanese bbq on US soil. I was impressed to say the least. I hadn't experienced this type of cuisine since I left Japan. The service was exceptional. My group and I have already decided that we will be returning again soon.
Visited the restaurants in Chicago, Las Vegas, and now Atlanta and it’s always a great experience. 5 stars.
We were so happy after our first visit in April this year and that was reason we brought our whole family back, only to be
very disappointed with 3 things. 1)You ran out of sirloin steaks already at 12:15pm.
2)The grill took forever to get hot.
3)The “Lady M” was out. I was looking forward to it for my birthday.
How can you run a business when your signature menu items ran out so quickly on Sunday at lunch? An hour after opening, to be exact. Get a new vendor or you will have many more unhappy customers in the near future.
We did get 15%off of our bill but we were there to enjoy the food and not looking for a good deal. It was a Birthday lunch for four of our family members.
Generally really good. The serving sizes were a bit smaller than expected. You'll probably want to order extra if you do one of the group meals.
I love how each server was very attentive to every guest and not to their individual tables. The staff was very knowledgeable of the broad menu they have and of the cooking instructions. The servers, busters, and helpers we very energetic with their bright smiles and excelling service. Not once did I have to ask for a refill or anything. They were on top of it. The food was brought out quick and very presentable. Overall very tasty very very tasty and good quality. Great experience been here 4 times and they seem to never disappoint. I hope they keep this up.
P.S. Thanks to Jasmine and the crew for making my little sister’s birthday special as well as my family’s first experience delightful. Also, thank you to Jimmy for making sure we were never thirsty by refilling our water consistently.
I got really sick from the food on Friday June 7th 2019. Was one of my favorite places to eat but unfortunately I’ll never go back. The service was below average as well, they forgot a few of our dishes and took a very long time to get some other items we ordered.
Service was good, but bar service was slow. The food was ok. I’ve definitely had much better for relatively the same price. It wasn’t a bad experience, but I likely would not return. Nothing exceptionally memorable.
It’s was great and we will definitely comeback again in the future!!!
High quality Japanese BBQ - beef was very delicious, and servers were extremely nice and helpful. Menu was simple and easy to understand and the BBQ experience was great! Succulent tender pieces of beef cut in a variety of ways with amazing marinade. So good!
The servers were very kind and personable. Atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Food was also very good, easy to cook and very tasty.
lots of fun and did a good job with a birthday dinner. new money was great!
It was a great experience. Lots of food. It was delicious
It was great. They had issues with the air conditioning, but the experience was still great!
I think our server’s name was Jimmy, and he was so great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. At the end of dinner he told us it was only his second day on the floor by himself — and you would never know it! He was so professional and made our experience very pleasant.
We have the all you can eat invitation. It is really good.
The food and service were great. The air conditioning was out though which was a bummer. With the grills on the table it was really hot. I thought they may offer a small discount or something as a courtesy but they just briefly apologized. Either way, the food was truly incredible.
Glad to finally have a Gyu-Kaku in Atlanta. Not the fanciest, nor the best but it's great for when you want to get your fill of lots of different barbecue meats and the fun of grilling it yourself with family and friends.
The service and food was great but it’s was really hot in the restaurant. They really need to blast the air conditioning due to all the grills.
This was my first time trying Gyu-Kaku. The food was great, the drinks are tasty, but they forgot to bring out the dessert and sing happy birthday to my wife even after i had the host leave a note for the waiters. It's a little pricey, but overall it was a great experience.
Great food. Ok ambiance and uneven service.
Food was great just take too long to bring out everything.
Copper was great. I do hope you all get some air conditioning better at the tables consider the stoves being on
This is one of my Favorite places!! And When I found out they were coming to Atlanta I was beyond EXCITED!!! It was like being at one in California!! Everything was great!
Beautiful atmosphere and experience. Highly recommend the big menus ( Meat Lovers, Samurai and Shogun ). The food is rich with flavor even hours after being cooked. Phenomenal.
Good Yakiniku style food. Grill is electric, would prefer is to be charcoal like a few of the Korea places in north Atlanta.
Manager and hostess were great, however like most ATL restaurants wait staff did the minimal level of service as possible.
This place would be “great” if they could just get a wait staff that actually showed an interest in working there....but again similar problems can be found in almost all of Atlanta.
It was my daughter 16th bday an her 1st time there, our waiter made the experience so great for everyone. He really knew his business...
