Hacienda Mexican Restaurant was founded in 1968 by Mexican-born restaurateur Norberto Rodriguez with the goal of introducing authentic Mexican cuisine to the greater St. Louis area. The restaurant was an immediate success and to satisfy growing customer demand, our current location on Manchester Road in Rock Hill was founded in 1977 in one of the area’s most historic buildings which dates all the way back to the 1860’s.

For over 40 years, Hacienda Mexican Restaurant has remained entirely family owned and operated and been continually committed to realizing Norberto Rodriguez’s vision of serving authentic Mexican food in a festive atmosphere with the highest level of hospitality. We had not been recently but we were happy to find that the food, drinks, and overall atmosphere were still very good. The service was especially good - our server was attentive even tho’ it was the busy early dinner hour on a Saturday. Definitely an enjoyable visit.

Although the restaurant was slow, rarely saw the waiter. We kept receiving excuses why the food was not out, but when we received it, the plates were super hot, as if they’ve been under a spin lamp for a long time. The lettuce seemed old, even the taco shells were less than crispy. I have enjoyed taco Bell tacos more than what we received here

I’ve been here twice and both times the food was not what I expected. The food I ordered yesterday had smell and was sub par. Margarita that my wife ordered was good and they have good salsa but other than that I’m not impressed with the food. I won’t be going back again.

The waitress was super nice, but the food was blah and the restaurant was out of a lot. The pitcher of margaritas was pre mix that was flavorless and the single ones were hand made. The food took forever and many people had mistakes.

We have been loyal Hacienda customers since the 1980’s but very disappointed the last several visits - poor quality food and bad service. Today, however, the service was very good (Caroline was friendly, upbeat and a great server) and the food was much improved. Not quite to pre-pandemic quality but getting there. We will go back!

I always enjoy dining with friends at Hacienda. Food is very good, and I love Happy Hour drink prices. However - the last 4 times I have been there, we have noticed an increasing number of what appears to be fruit flies swarming around the tables. This has been very annoying and disrupting.

We had to wait to have any water for about 20 minutes after being seated. The person who we thought should have been our waiter never came to our table. A nice young guy showed up and restored our faith in Hacienda. When he came to give us our receipt for the night, he apologized for the the long wait at the start of our stay. We kind of understood that he wasn't the problem it was with the other waiter. We left happy.

I grew up going to the Hacienda in Overland. It had been literal decades since I’d been. I took my mom for her birthday and it was great! The server was awesome and the food and drinks were excellent. We’ll definitely be back soon!

We were so disappointed with the Hacienda last night. We got to our table and I sat down on the chair and it fell apart. The bus boy took it and moved it to another table. My husband reminded him that it was broken and the family thanked us because they almost sat down on the broken chair. The chips were mediocre, not as good as they used to be. My Margarita was watered down. There were flies everywhere and it was disgusting. We were even inside eating. The place looked really run down and dirty. So disappointing.

We haven’t dined at Hacienda in some time but we were in the mood for Mexican food. When we arrived there were plenty of empty tables outside and asked if they could accommodate us even though our reservation was apparently for indoor dining. The hostess seemed willing to seat us outside but the manager would not allow it. Rather than offer a polite explanation to us he ordered the hostess to seat us inside. We were appalled by his rude behavior and disappointed that the dining room badly needed a makeover. Robert Irvine would have a field day! The service was ok and the food though not great was a reasonable value. However because of the manager we will not dine there again.

Worst Mexican food I’ve ever tried ordered steak and shrimp fajitas served cold cast iron skillet was cold, all 6 people in my group were disappointed with the food Tom had carnitas a few dry chunks of beef on a bed of dry rice really?Ken and Judy’s tamales were dry and cold ! Will never go back !

I hadn’t been here in some years and decided to use my Opentable rewards here. Unfortunately management did not run the rewards card correctly and said there was nothing he could about it and basically told me too bad. I contacted Opentable and they said the restaurant must not have read their contract on how to run those and they locked the card by running it wrong, and they needed to call a number to unlock. Left a message with Hacienda and never heard back from them so they screwed me out of a reward that has taken me months to earn. The rice was over cooked and crunchy. The fish tacos were not that impressive. It was not busy and food was almost too quick so must’ve had stuff pre made and ready to go. The only good thing about this visit was the chips/queso, sweet corn, and the waitress. She was amazing and extremely nice, whereas the manager could have cared less that he messed up my rewards card which I now cannot use since they haven’t called to get it refunded. If you’re going to sign up for something like Opentable, please revisit the rules of how it works before you cause other customers issues. I also did not get points for my reservation since it was supposed to be a rewards reservation. Basically, not in a rush to visit here again.

Restaurant was dirty, food was mediocre at best. Fried ice cream was melted when delivered and waiter blamed it on summer weather.
