Food was excellent! We are staying at Hotel Paseo where this restaurant is located. Such a fun vibe! Live music was so fun. If you ate up for a lively dinner atmosphere and great food (fried chicken and collard greens and mashed potatoes were delicious!) this is a perfect place to try. A date night thumbs up !
I was really looking forward to trying out the restaurant but was very disappointed,
we had a party of 6, all the meals were not very hot
just warm for the french onion soup, warm for the salmon as well. although the meal came out in a timely manner the food was not hot. also we had some dirty plates that came when the app's came. food underneath the plates and then when the main course came out our service frizzled down where we were looking for the server to get us some more water.
We tried the Grill once and was not impressed. Well we gave it another try and we were sadly disappointed. The restaurant just does not know what it wants to be. They bring in music which is great but it starts too late (8:00 - 11:00). The food is very bland and needs to be seasoned. We don't plan on returning any time soon.
First time at this restaurant. We sat outside and it was great! We split the beet salad which was delightful. I had the flank steak and frites. Very good but the “wilted” arugula on the side was weak. Maybe another option would be better. The fried chicken was very nice as were the potatoes and collard greens were great! Wine was a little pricey at $24 per glass for a cab. We would dine here again. Jana, our server was excellent!!
Quick and friendly service. Spectacular atmosphere
My friends loved my choice of restaurants last evening. The four of us wanted dinner before going to the McCallum and left the decision up to me. It was the first time any of them had dined there but I know it wont be the last as they all loved the food, service and ambiance.
The food was great, but 3 plates came out cold and one hot. Obviously 3 were prepared early and waited.
The food was awful.
New Years Eve - 6:30 reservation. Our server was great. Hostess was great.
The waitress was wonderful. We were there for 2 1/2 hours. She never rushed us and was always pleasant and fun. My guest said the beet salad was one of the best he ever had.
Early New Year’s celebration
Many food items not available
Horrific service, slow for everything, took 45 minutes to get appetizers and food! Unlikely we would return for a second chance!!
We really enjoyed the outside dining. Overall...a nice experience.
Short staffed and food was cold. Server did best she could under circumstances.
Good food, very friendly staff.
Five of us went to Larkspur Grill for the first time hoping to enjoy a special meal on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, our experience was poor. The kitchen was "out" of many items we tried to order. And, when we finally settled on our meals, all the food (starters and entrees) arrived lukewarm at best. Imagine cutting French onion soup (which should be served piping hot and steamy) with a knife so that you could attempt to eat it!
Both the server and manager tried to make things right by remaking our orders, but the second orders came out just as lukewarm. So we finally gave up. A shame because the flavors seemed like they could have been nice if the food were properly warm.
We know that dining out on a holiday can be challenging, and we are not "picky people." So we did our best to be understanding. But we will never visit here again.
The food and service were great! There is a wide variety of choices so everyone in the group will find something they like. The bacon wrapped dates are a delicious way to start the meal. They have music on the weekend nights which adds to the fun.
Great spot. Very nice staff. Good ambiance and location. The band was great. Parking was close. Will definitely be back. Had a nice time.
Always a great time at the Larkspur Grille.
Dick and Jane Band always the best.
The only real negative was the entertainment was really to loud to have a conversation at our table. The food was amazing!
We arrived timely for our 6PM reservation and were taken to our table quickly. However, we sat for 45 minutes before a waiter approached us….in fact we had to ask for one. We were then able to order drinks and soon after the food order was taken. We didn’t get served until 8:30PM…. The waiter was very apologetic and it appeared there were problems in the kitchen. When the food came out, it was delicious - thank goodness! We have been there several times before and had never experienced this in the past. Our guests were there for the first time and I’m not sure they will return.
Sat outside under a great heat lamp and enjoyed great appetizers, soup and salad! The bacon wrapped dates and nachos were excellent… the charred artichoke was a bit too charred and took away from the taste of the artichoke itself… I’d go back though and try it again!!
Server was new. Needed to learn the menu
A bit presumptuous without the knowledge
Manager was ready willing and able to solve any issues
The bacon wrapped dates were a 10!! Very good. We also had the cobbs salad and fish/chips. All were tasty.
The band was terrific. My wife and I will return again any time they are playing.
The food was not good
Had the Cod, It was rubbery and didn't like the sauce.
Atmosphere is great, band is great.
We had a group of friends with us for a pre-wedding dinner. There was a group of about 24 of us and they accommodated us and all of our request. I highly recommend them for a casual evening out.
Fun times and always a good meal. Love the live music and the fun crowd!
Lovely restaurant with a couple of great choices for my vegan friend. Service was excellent. We sat outside which was just perfect. You had a view the mountains which is always spectacular. Chips, salsa, guac was excellent as were the fish tacos. Would definitely recommend.
Food was wonderful, drinks were a little inconsistent, service was okay, waiter had to many tables and it affected his service but he was a doll. Placed was short staffed but the entertainment was great, food was wonderful and would defiantly recommend.
Unfortunately most of our main courses were not hot
We came for thanksgiving prix fix three course dinner and it was terrific My wife had turkey and I had prime rib and they were both delicious. Can’t wait to return for regular menu.
We have eaten here a couple of times. Food is consistently good. It was very busy ( night before Thanksgiving ) so the service was chaotic. We had our bottle of wine almost finished before our meal came.
Very slow service; out of an entree food not very special for the cost.
Well drinks subpar, food good but served cool, ambiance very good, music some nights fantastic, others not so good.
So disappointing; from the outside looking in, it looks fabulous however once inside the experience was beyond disappointing.
The food was horrible plus it took over 1/2 hr to get our food which we could not eat.
The music was so loud you couldn’t talk to.
We will not be back and we will not recommend to others.
The choice of music was ridiculous for a dinner crowd - my friends couldn’t wait to get away from the noise of this terrible garage band. Def not suitable dinner music !
Never got starter entrée but my wife did, soup is pretty easy to get I thought. the cod entree was basically floating in soup
Lunch with my son before he returns home. It is one of our favorite places. As usual, the food and service was great.
