Canary Wharf workers have a new waterfront wine bar as Humble Grape opened on Mackenzie Walk, along the water’s edge.

On the wine list you’ll find 30 wines by the glass (they’ll rotate these regularly) as well as more than 400 wines by the bottle all with the focus on wines from small family wineries that champion sustainable, organic, or biodynamic practices. Drink these beauties in or take-them home!

Of course where there’s wine, there’s food. Open all day, kicking off with breakfast at 7.30am and running through to the evening. And if you’re looking for a new space to hold meetings, or a private bash, then we’ve got a private room for 20 guests along with another events space that can host up to 140 guests combined.

Humble Grape is our go-to restaurant on Canary Wharf. The flights of wine are changing monthly, and are always interesting to try out, and the food is fantastic. The place does get busy, though, so don't come in a rush!

Really nice restaurant with lots of ambience. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable but best of all the food was amazing, having been to a good few Michelin star restaurants in my time this food was as good as and if not better at times than any top restaurant! Will definitely return soon !

I didn’t have a good experience. I waited at the door and someone who came after me was served first. When I was seated I waited 30 mins for my order even though I ordered it before I sat. I rarely feel passionate enough to write a negative review but would not recommend

Menu changes periodically but food is of a consistently high standard. We had mostly starters so we could try lots of dishes. Some excellent dishes in there. Karen was our main man. Very attentive service and good wine recommendations.

The food was lovely, but the restaurant was very busy making it very loud , so holding a conversation with my partner was quite challenging. It wasn’t helped by the loud music being played at one of two private functions that appeared to be going on . The atmospheric lighting also made reading the menu quite difficult too. That said the waiting staff were very friendly and efficient and as I mentioned the food was really great.

Certain photos fail to capture the true essence of this place. In reality, it exudes a cozy and inviting ambiance. The service was also commendable, with attentive staff catering to our needs. Opting for a flight of Veneto wines was a fantastic decision. With four small glasses, each holding 50ml, it's an ideal choice for those who prefer to savor a variety of wines without consuming too much. When it comes to the culinary delights, the pulled lamb is an absolute must-try. The portion size is just right, and every bite is bursting with delightful flavors. Our overall experience was delightful, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.

We thought the food was good - our expectations were not that high as we thought we had booked a wine bar - but it was better than a number of restaurants in the Wharf. Nice to get a decent portion of vegetables too. Good wine list - at reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere too. We were not rushed off our table either. We had a good evening

Food was pretty good but would expect better value for the money spent (the flat iron steak which was really nice / you could tell the meat was good quality). The wine flight was also good. The host was pleasant enough as was one of the waiters who took us to our table. However, the service received from the person who then took over was very poor. She didn’t once ask if the food was OK even when taking away our plates. In fact, she barely said two words to us the whole time we were there. The service can often make a restaurant experience and unfortunately the service at humble grape let down the food / atmosphere.

Had a bottle of the Prosecco which was really good and refreshing. The service was good and the ambience excellent. Would recommend for a friends catch up or drinks date. However we ordered 4 small plates and were disappointed with the food quality. The slow cooked halloumi - cubed halloumi in a tin of chopped tomatoes and lacked seasoning. The chilli fried chicken - great it was really crispy, but lacked all flavour. Slow cooked lamb- was good but nothing to rave about. Prawns - best out of the 4 and good flavours.

We have requested 2 dishes that were announced not available just a while after other customers received it. The cote de boeuf was bearly weighing 700g. The meat was not tender. The risotto was served in too much liquid, which was not appealing, seems a soup. 2 glasses were stained with lipstick marks. There was no mustard, we were offered mayo and ketchup in replacement. The price was too high for the quality of food and service.

Absolutely amazing! We just came back from there :)) the service was perfect and the staff wonderful - they were all doing their best to accommodate everyone and make sure everyone was having a great experience. We went there with two little kids which is not easy for a wine bar … believe me 🤨 We had a great time - thank you.

Absolute gem in the heart of Canary Wharf, came here for lunch via the ferry. Really simple yet perfectly cooked dishes (including a well done steak!) and incredibly friendly attentive staff. Will 100% be back here for another weekend lunch.

The staff were amazing and attentive, they changed our table to a table we preferred with ease. Our glasses were changed and topped up without us having to ask. Food and wine was lovely and the atmosphere was amazing, I would definitely recommend.

I have severe food allergies and regularly eat out at restaurants where fresh food typically ensures they can be catered for. The waitress clearly understood my allergies and was helpful. Having eaten some of the side dish I just queried what was contained as it had also been ok for me as per their allergen chart. I then discovered that the salad contained wheat. She removed the dish. It could have been extremely serious for me and I had to make urgent adjustments. I received no apology from anyone at the restaurant. The chef was clearly focused on just getting home asap. I accept there are risks but this restaurant fell a long way short and it’s the first time I have ever experienced a moment like this that could have had serious consequences for my particular allergy situation. As an aside, the steak was also really average.

we went on new year eve to celebrate it with friends. Loved the ambience and especially the hospitality and music was outstanding. Waiters were friendly and helped in recommending wine. They have got good range of red wines. Chicken items were really tasty. In comparison to chicken food items, Steak wasn't that great. It costs us around £200 for 4 people.

I visited the Humble grape with my husband to celebrate our 11 year anniversary. The restaurant opened at 12, and our booking was for 12.30, so we were the only patrons, so had the waiter's full attention which was nice. Our waiter allowed us to taste the wine we chose before we bought a full bottle. He also brought a sample of a wine her recommended. His suggestion was excellent. We drank this wine with our starter which was a baked camembert with sourdough bread. Amazing. My husband chose a collection of starters. The honey sausage was great. Lovely flavours. The buratta was exceptional. The halloumi appetiser, while good, didn't seem very special next to the other two dishes. I chose the pork belly. It was delightful. Wonderfully cooked, and not too much fat. The bed of chard was nice too, and it's tartness complemented the meat well. After dinner, or server suggested a beautiful Reisling. The gentle sweetness would have been the perfect ending to the meal. But we decided to stuff ourselves with dessert. The madeleines with lemon curd were fresh and lovely. The baked cheesecake was nice too. Overall, I had a really lovely experience and would book again for a special occasion.

Lovely, attentive staff and great wine but the Sunday roast was very poor. Microwaved, chain pub quality food which cost around £80 in all for two people. I'd come back for a glass of wine after work but won't be eating here again.

I had to change the booking a couple of times and the staff replied very quickly to my emails and were very accommodating. Friendly professional service during the meal. The meal itself 3 course Christmas menu was delicious. Overall a wonderful experience. We will now put the Humble Grape on our list of go to restaurants.

Wines are expensive . Wine tasting was best value . One wine not available but replaced . Wouldn’t go back for the money . Atmosphere was lacking and sat by door which kept on being left open by others .

Went for Sunday lunch. Tasty food (esp the cauliflower cheese) though veg a tad too much swede and turnip for my liking. Service was pretty good. Not sure why half the clientele had to bring their dogs though (they are “pet friendly”) … it turned into a bit of a bark-off for a while during our meal…
