The best restaurant in town. It’s my number one lunch choice. Great menu, great location and the view; the staff are polite and very helpful. Had an eye fillet steak 🥩 it was great. Was also very happy to find soup on the menu: some of us just can’t live without it. The dark chocolate pie was fabulous - will have it again.

The venue is delightful. We had a drink on the veranda catching the sea breeze in the sunset then had dinner in the air conditioning. The food was delicious the prices good and the service excellent. Thank you for a great evening!

Pretentious fine dining restaurant in Darwin.
Fake Italian cuisine. You are better off going to some Italian restaurants in Darwin CBD.

If you are after a sophisticated dining experience, this is not the place for you unfortunately.

The view is a unique selling point but we would rather have good food and service and find this view anywhere else in Darwin (Cullen Bay, Nightcliff, Esplanade, MIndil Beach) no need to pay in an expensive trying-to-be fancy restaurant..

We had been to the restaurant a few times in the past and really enjoyed it. However, the last time we were there, shortly after the COVID restrictions were eased, the food and service were terrible. We decided to give it another go and we were very glad we did because the food and service were excellent.

It was a very exciting and eventful night but overall the restaurant was amazing and so was the food. The atmosphere throughout the night was fantastic and I would definitely recommend il Piatto to my friends.
However the only issue was not being able to do a split bill at the end of the night that was a bit stressful having to hunt everyone down to have them pay for the meal. I think it would be extremely beneficial if you guys were open to split payments as well as on the reservations giving guests the option to choose were they want to sit.
Apart from that the night was unforgettable and I will definitely be back for more.

We sampled 2 appetisers and they were rather ordinary, we also had 4 different mains. Out of the mains the steak was disappointing, my husband said it was probably the worst steak he's ever had, I tried and and I agreed with him. We wanted desert but the options were very limited so skipped it. The restaurant ambiance and service was impressive but the food overall was just ok.

My mum is from Brisbane and I wanted to take her somewhere nice and this particular restaurant was amazing. Lovely food, beautiful view and overall great experience with polite and happy service. Will definitely be back.

My husband felt that his main was not filling enough but the good was absolutely delicious. We really enjoyed our anniversary meal.

Crisp, if not a little fussy, service could not disguise the fact that the food was really ordinary. Scotch fillet with a whole, large mushroom and potatoes with some gravy stuff was under-seasoned and the potatoes were undercooked. The risotto was like a soup - you could not eat it with a fork, the gnocchi was also very liquidy with very little flavour. When posed with this, the wait staff didn't seem to know what to do other than apologise.
The place claims to have Italian roots but no Parmesan offered.
The Casino itself looks down at the heel. The gardens were a mess. We should have taken this as an omen and gone elsewhere.

The vista is beautiful, the room cool, the food if fine if not bland.

It would be nice to have options in portion sizes for main meals. I ordered a pasta dish and would have liked to have a bigger sized meal. The dessert was very nice and appropriate sizing.

my partners lamb was delicious and tender, my steak was sinuey and had to pull it apart to eat the tender bits,
wine was lovely and cold but the beers were warm
staff were lovely.

Lovely atmosphere until a large group came in and were noisy. The restaurant has lots of hard surfaces, not allowing for noise reduction. Food was lovely, although found over seasoned with salt. Service friendly and helpful. We did miss the other Maitre d from times we have been previously.

Absolutely beautiful location looking out over the Casino gardens and Arafura Sea. Attentive, efficient, friendly wait staff, magnificent food and wine. A truly enjoyable and special dining experience.

We eat at I'llpiato almost weekly. The service is excellent and staff very friendly.

Food was excellent shame we could not sit outside they tried to put us on table next to the toilet door we wine had gone up in price since we were last there best pizza in Darwin unfortunately the pizza oven had packed up so pizza was not available overall you can’t beat the place
