We choice and reserved this restaurant because we wanted something different and fun, we also love Asian food.
We were aware that the prices were rather high but figured this was due to the high quality of food, ambiance and entertainment factor.
The restaurant is dark. Very dark. The hostess seemed rather disinterested as she lead us to a canteen like long table about 2 meters away in an otherwise empty restaurant, except for 2 tables. Then we were left to figure things out on our own. We chose a set price menu ( 4 items per person for £27 pp not including beverages) only after we sought out someone and asked about the sign outside the door.
The menu is very limited in the set price menu, a single serve bowl of rice or miso soup is considered equivalent to a plate order of Korean style BBQ ribs (3 ribs is a serving ). Some of the dishes were lukewarm or tasted like from a buffet (kept warm for a long time) or even microwaved. Nothing tasted fresh or good. It was okay, like what I’d expect from a mall food court.
The food is delivered by various people, I wouldn’t call them waiters. Food is plopped down and the person disappears. You order your food and bill from an iPad ( that isn’t really all that much fun). The table games are okay for 6 year olds but not teens. All a bit outdated and hard to see the games projected on the table.
The bill is delivered in person with a hefty 12.5 % tip plus .99 pence (plant a tree, really? More info on that in the restaurant would have been nice and make it more believable.... ). We paid the bill, which I would have rather spent at a fine dining restaurant, the amount would have been the same. I also wish I hadn’t paid the service and tree fee. Actually, I wish we would have never eaten there to begin with.
We spent 4 days in London and this was the only let down,
leaving me feeling like I’d been ripped off.

It's a gimmicky restaurant. Should have gone with my gut instinct and chosen elsewhere.

As our table wasn't ready we were asked to go downstairs to the bar for a drink. I had my 16 and 12 year olds with me. The bar area was unbelievable. I wish I had taken a photo. Empty bottles and glasses everywhere, soaking wet floor, dirty tables, the bar tenders served 2 people before us at the bar... there were only 3 of us at the bar and I was clearly there first!

The bar honestly looked like the morning after the night before... like someone had had a blooming' good party! To expect families to go down to that bar and pay to drink there was crazy.

At our table the iPad didn't work well, service was patchy and my main course turned up a good 15-20 mins after our whole table was cleared from my children meals! I was told that something had gone wrong in the kitchen... but there was no apology.

My son did receive a birthday sparkler pudding which was kind but to be honest it was too little too late...

A good concept and a fun place to have dinner. It is very expensive though and the whole place is just a little bit grubby. We went on Saturday evening and the bar downstairs was filthy and the toilets weren't pleasant. The iPads that you use to order and the little sensor that you get given are both dirty and need to be cleaned between diners. The food was very good.

I enjoyed the visit, but very expensive and I feel overpriced. The food is good and tasty but that doesn't mean you should change £12 for some spiced cauliflower.

The interactive tables resolution is a bit tired and would be better if they improved that as well.

We had the wrong iPad at our table so orders we’re getting lost - but even after they dealt with that issue our orders kept getting lost, in general we kept having to ask or remind them of our orders that had gone missing. Very poor and portions are very small for the price - quality of food doesn’t warrant a high cost either

Food was nice, but overpriced for what we got. Service was friendly but would prefer more human contact than ordering through an ipad. Ambience was not for us (loud music and bright lighting on the table) and not relaxing/conducive to eating. Table cloth/games too gimmicky for us and not worth the extra price this probably added to the meal. I'm sure some people enjoy it though. Would have been better off going to Wagamama's ( a lot better value for money) in our opinion.

Thoroughly disappointing experience at Inamo Covent Garden from start to finish.

How does a restaurant in London have no coat check or even any coat hooks or hangers? Diners are expected to drape their outerwear over the backs of chairs. With half the seating in the dining area being low-backed chairs this means that inevitably your coat drags on the filthy floor; alternatively you are left to bundle your clothing on the almost equally dirty benches.

The downstairs bar is in desperate need of proper decorating. The lighting is atrocious - horribly bright, very white LED lights make you feel like you're sitting in an interrogation room. Gone are the tasty and innovative cocktails which used to start the Inamo experience, instead you can select from watered-down, tasteless, uninspired drinks at the bar. Overly loud music in the small space means larger parties are screaming at each other to be heard, consequently deafening everybody.

Having been dining at Inamo since the first restaurant opened years ago, I was taken aback when seated at the table to see the horrible tablets that have replaced the on-table ordering system. The tablets are grungy and dirty, with old food in every fold and crease of the tablet cover and greasy fingermarks on the tablet surface. The tablet stopped responding over and over while trying to order.

Cleanliness needs serious attention in this restaurant. The table was dirty, the little mouse pointers on the table were dirty, the chair was dirty and so was the bench, to the point where my trousers need dry cleaning now to remove the grease marks picked up from the bench.
The food has really gone downhill. What happened to the delicious crispy duck pancakes? The spicy aubergine was simply cubes of slimy aubergine drenched in bottled sweet chilli sauce. The sweet potato fries were flavourless. The sizzling pepper beef did at least appear to be fillet as advertised but at £25 per portion this should have been a much bigger plate than it was.

Food was OK.... wasn’t much better than my local Chinese. Me and the Mrs eat out quite a lot in the West End so expect a certain price level... just the quality to match also. This was below expectations, given the bill was £140 for 2 (and we only had 1 drink each).

Service was poor but I think that stems from the way you order the foods on the ipad. Not to call out particularly poor service but just no service beyond someone shoving the plates on your table and walking off. Still 12.5% for the pleasure though.

It’s targeted at the 20-30 age range (our age range) as its dark with a kind of soft house music vibe, fluorescent lighting etc. Could imagine that if you were part of a larger group, weren’t too bothered about the grub and were out for a bit of a jolly then it would be alright.

Sushi/sashimi / lettuce cups/ cold tofu starter were all bland and of poor quality. It was pre made and all the cold food came out within minutes of ordering. Skewers plater was tasteless. Hot dishes were palatable like the tofu and aubergine. Overall it was a terrible food experience and to top it all, the dishes were very expensive. We were out of there within 30/45 mins of entering , with a hefty bill and extremely disappointing dining experience. We went based on the ratings. Please don’t waste your money going here. For the same money you could have a fabulous meal at Roka, Zuma or Nobu. I would definitely NOT recommend this restaurant for food nor value for money.

Dining with my my nine year old son.
First impressions upon arriving were poor. We were 15 minutes early for a 6pm table booking for 2 people (there were loads of free tables in the restaurant) I politely asked the female at the front desk whether we would be able to have our table earlier than the original booking and she spent the next 3-4 minutes tapping away at her computer ignoring us. No indication from her that she had heard our request and was checking tables etc, we were just left to stand there feeling a little awkward.
I enjoyed ordering the food and drinks from a tablet on the table, it was straightforward and easy to use.
Food came quickly and was tasty but portions were small and expensive for what they were. £5 for prawn crackers!!
Given that all ordering is done on a tablet I feel a 12.5% service charge is unacceptable. What service?
The interactive tables are a nice idea but in reality they didn't really work. The images were blurry, the mice were slow to respond, there were 2 games we could access, both of which were difficult to play due to the slow response. So after a few minutes of using the interactive table we gave up.
Nice atmosphere and good food but very expensive for what you get

Interactive tables didn’t work well - mouse was sticky and dirty from previous diners as was the table. Food was ok but overall it was overpriced. Won’t be going back.

Went inamo for a joint birthday party for me and a friend and the food was gorgeous and filling despite us not ordering much to remain in budget. Unfortunately, the service was unfriendly and slow (apart from this one waiter who helped us out a lot (cheers mate)). From the malfunctioning ipad to assistance taking from 5-10 minutes to arrive to plain hostility from some waiters, we weren’t impressed. The service charge was overpriced.

The food was tasty the cocktails were delicious. The service was friendly and attentive without ever feeling obtrusive. The ambience was great, Greenford area with multiple restaurants . All in all a perfect night out

Hated the tablet ordering service. When someone finally came to our table (The black guy), he was grumpy and never got us what we wanted (a fork). The food was Amazing but that one staff member (the black guy upstairs with the shaved head) really messed up the experience. I do not think they should automatically include service change to the bill because there was NO service. Won’t visit again!

This is the first time I have ever written a review. Please go to Wagamama / Yo Sushi / itsu instead....

We booked this for a special birthday meal. Having been seated no one came to us ... after waiting we asked a member of staff for a menu, the idea was that the children would really enjoy the interactive tables, but no one came over to explain how they work, they did work them out for themselves... but save your money and let your children play on their phones! We were shown the different menus - and clearly explained what we needed to order, we asked about a children's menu, but that doesn't exist... (like a Wagamama children's menu) we ordered exactly as we had been told, we then had a member of staff come up and say that we had ordered incorrectly and there was a min. spend on certain things, this had categorically not been explained to us, so we said we were going to proceed as we had already planned. No apology, no reference to the special birthday, annoyed looking staff, OK-ish food. We felt awkward and wished we had spent our money somewhere else and enjoyed amazing customer service. The problem is that the screen based ordering service gives little or no interaction with staff, the staff look bored, and sadly they just looked annoyed with us. Given we were following just what we had been told to do... we were made to feel in the wrong. Having been excited about the interactive tables... this is now somewhere we won't be recommending!

Service was nice and quick. Staffs are friendly and thoughtful . Love the atmosphere here . Food are incredibly delicious, comparable to a fine dining restaurant but not that cheap. Ordering from iPad is fun and interesting but not many people will like it
