    Fabulous. Jake’s never disappoints. Been coming here for 30 years and still love it. Great steaks and the onion rings are to die for. Mushrooms, double baked pot. Everyone was friendly. We love it

    Food was good but the noise level was so loud it was hard to maintain conversation. The tables were so close to one another that the server bumped into me multiple times moving from one table to another. Guests at a near table to ours could not exit the restaurant without me getting up from my chair and moving away from our table. Definitely not an enjoyable evening.

    The ambiance and food was fantastic as I remembered! The steaks tender. The sides very tasty. Too full for dessert. We didn’t get much attention because our server was busy with larger parties. I don’t think Jake’s is the only place struggling to have enough staff. Overall, it was a very nice evening.

    Great food and service. A little noisy but it was a crowded Saturday night. All our 5 orders were well prepared and presented. The oysters were a treat. We will be back!

    Quiet evening, great service, drinks were made very well. Love the warm bread at the table. Wine list not quite up to previous standards or available options. Specials - interesting choice - Halibut - were outstanding.

    Disappointed. I expected better due to the reviews. Prices are high for no reason. My steak was flavorless, appetizer was fair, even my cocktail wasn’t good. May have been an off night but I won’t be back.

    Expensive for what you get. Broken TV in the bar from weeks ago-they never bothered to fix it-the bartenders had their own speaker for music (their music). How come a place can't keep up basic maintenance?

    The only criticism is that the time between appetizers and our main entree was a bit long. Otherwise, it was a terrific dining experience. The staff was very friendly and professional!

    The onion strings were a great appetizer. We had the Porterhouse for 2 and it was perfectly done and served. The service matched the quality of the food and was also excellent.

    Had our anniversary dinner at Jake's. Service was great even though one server was missing on the night we were there. Only 2 servers, and the hostess who pitched in, handled the entire dining room with several large groups. Food was OUTSTANDING AS USUAL.

    The dry aged cowboy steak was delicious as was the twice-backed potato with cheddar and bacon. The vegetable was creamed spinach, an outstanding dish. Our server was exceptional.

    We have been to Jake's often throughout the years and tonight's experience was the worst. We could tell they were short staffed, tables left with no one coming to clean up until the table was needed. My normal drink, Cherry Limade plus Ketel was not good with too much alcohol. Our waitress was busy with maybe 1 stop to check on us. Our orders were placed opposite of what we ordered, and my filet trio had no blue cheese steak. They ran out of twice baked potatoes, which was fine, but the table of 6 next to us, who ordered after us all got theirs. We assumed new chef as our steaks were slightly overcooked. We've never had a bad meal there. We will be back because we love Jake's but it was disappointing as we were celebrating our Anniversary.

    My trio of filets was overcooked the first time and undercooked the second. I appreciated the person in charge coming out with the second try to make sure it was acceptable. But to be honest if you're going to charge $55 for filet mignon you better know how to cook it properly. And also the presentation both times was sloppy. My husband's pork chop was unfortunately overcooked. They did offer me free dessert and I love creme brulee but although the caramelized sugar top was properly done the custard was eggy and not sweet enough.

    Service was good. Wine we chose was excellent. But the walleye we ordered was smothered in grease; also the rice and veggies were likewise very greasy. They advertise it as brown butter, but the was just oil!!

    First time there and we enjoyed a delicious and peaceful dinner on the patio. Both got steaks and they were cooked perfectly. Would go back again too celebrate any occasion!

    Great walleye; remember fresh water fish is cooked skin on which they will remove for you if you ask. The fried onions are always the best and most of the grease is removed so it retains better texture and flavor. The bearnaise sauce is not too tarragon heavy yet retains a very nice taste and consistency and goes well with the steak. The flourless chocolate cake is about a 3 oz aerated custard texture and it is very rich. The waitstaff and porters are well mannered and professional. I would go here again.

    Monday night special was set the clock back prices, so we ordered the tenderloin filet (7 oz) with their famous haystack onion rings. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and so flavorful. I did add-on Bernaise sauce, and my husband added the bleu cheese butter. An excellent value for quality tasting food! Highly recommend! We arrived a little early, so went to the bar for drinks, where we got to enjoy some happy hour prices as their happy hours goes til 6:30! Tried bacon wrapped water chestnuts for apps for $5, and again they did not disappoint. Had the perfect crunch without being over cooked and perfectly paired in a honey sauce. Bartender and server were both very knowledgeable on products and food, were very attentive, and welcoming. We will be back!

    The square table was a little small for 4 adults ordering several courses and drinks, but we made it work. Either a larger square table or round table would have worked a bit better. EVERYTHING else was superb, from the service, to the food and craft cocktails to the Friday night energy. The staff there worked their tails off to make sure we had an excellent experience. The oysters, porterhouse for 2 and our other food was spectacular. I really should have ordered 2 dozen oysters though. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

    My wife and I got engaged at Jakes in 1986 and alway enjoyed the atmosphere . We are glad to report after Covid has come and passed that the white table cloths are back and the service and food is still at a great value in a quiet relaxing time out together. Jakes will always be one of our favorite places to eat.
