Food took too long to show up. Waited close to 2 hours and main courses were not ready.

Although the restaurant is new to the PNW quality the food was a 9 out of 10. That said, we waited an hour between ordering our meal and being served and the restaurant wasn't even half full. Don't go here unless you have lots of time to kill. Our meal lasted almost 2 hours.

It feels like this restaurant is struggling to find its footing. We dined on a Friday evening, with only half the restaurant filled. The other sections were empty. The bar was empty as well. Our service was prompt but impersonal. All ordering is by tablet. It works well but it feels odd in a fancy Bravern restaurant with huge chandeliers and elaborate curtains. The atmosphere feels like a formal banquet hall with mini-tile flooring. It’s not unpleasant but not what I expected. The food was largely excellent! We tried some recommended dishes like the honey walnut shrimp and pork soup dumplings, which were both delicious. I was also a big fan of the pumpkin cheese balls, which tasted like the most decadent, soft doughnuts. A couple other items (eggplant, noodles) seemed a bit mushy, but still tasty. We enjoyed the experience and would consider trying other dishes. For the price, however, we might prefer another restaurant with a cozier atmosphere.

The restaurant is beautiful and the food is good but the waiter and waitress don’t seem to be very well trained. After our first cocktail, I used the the tablet on our table to call for our waitress but nobody came and then later on saw that she was sitting at the table in front of the bar, which is quite far from our table, checking on her phone!! It’s not until one of my friends went over to the bar did she realized that we call for her. And when we asked a couple of questions about the dishes on the menu, she did not have answers for us and needed to check with the kitchen. For a fairly high-end restaurant, that was just not the level of service we expect to receive. So it was a little disappointing.

Price to food ratio is pretty bad, except for the peking duck. Controlling costs too tightly.

We had a wonderful meal here, we wanted to try the place since it opened. The restaurant was quite empty when we arrived for our 7:30pm reservation and we were not sure if it was even open. The front desk was empty, and the hostess walked by and treated us. The service was efficient, but not personal. The food was very good, but needed some extra flavor to move it from bland to exciting. The spicy dishes were not very spicy at all. According to the server we should ask for “Asian spicy” next time. Overall the pricing was in line with the food. I hope the traffic increases to support a high end restaurant.

We visited Jiang Nan in Bellevue with a large group for a special farewell, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. Coordinating a big party can often be stressful, but the team here handled everything with grace and precision. The Highlights: • Exceptional Wait Staff: Our servers were the stars of the evening. They were incredibly attentive, meeting our every need without hesitation. Despite the size of our party, they kept the drinks filled, the courses timed perfectly, and the communication seamless. • Group Accommodations: The restaurant is well-equipped for larger gatherings. We felt welcomed and never cramped, which allowed us to actually enjoy each other's company while enjoying the meal. • The Food: As always, the flavors were authentic and the presentation was beautiful. It’s rare to find a spot that maintains such high quality across so many dishes at once. If you’re looking for a place in Bellevue that can handle a crowd while providing top-tier service, Jiang Nan is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back for our next celebration!

Having to use a tablet on the table to order food and drink took away from the overall dining experience.

Odd experience. Food came out in a weird order. Mains first, then apps, then the rice for the mains. Food was good but I’ve had better at local authentic Chinese restaurants. Glad I tried it but probably won’t go back.

The only thing above par I would call out is the service. It is great, the staff is very attentive and definitely put a lot of effort to put their best foot forward. But the food is below average, and the price made it unjustifiably. For authentic flavor of Chinese food, the International District in Seattle offers tastier selection with far more desirable prices.
