Amazing food and great service!
Great place manager was very accommodating and Jeb our waiter may be the best waiter I have ever had. Great place.
Loved it!! Had a great time and great food.
Truly welcoming experience and incredible food.
The service was incredible for my boyfriends birthday dinner - the back patio was nice and quiet which was perfect. The food was amazing, and the waiters recommendations (and humor!) were both 10/10!
As always a delicious meal! The meatball appetizer and mushroom bruschetta are so yummy. This is one of our favorite go to places on the UWS. One piece of advice call the restaurant directly if you want to be seated in the backyard garden.
Delicious food at a reasonable price. Great service and very pleasant atmosphere. Italian food with a good variety of choices.
The food was good. My dinner would have been much more enjoyable if we sat in the WARM restaurant instead of the COLD (40 degrees) WET back patio! I made a reservation over a week in advance - it was my sons first time in NYC and Valentines Day - very disappointed! Sad.
Always amazing food, but tonight was particularly fantastic. The team is always in point.
Always an amazing experience here. This is a go-to spot for anyone in search of great food and fantastic service.
Celebrated my girlfriend’s birthday in NYC and was very fortunate for choosing to dine here. The food was delicious and the entire staff went above and beyond to make this night amazing. They had a 3 piece band playing that evening and our waitress had them sing Happy Birthday for my girlfriend and brought her dessert which was phenomenal. She had one of the most memorable birthdays you could ask for and for that we thank you! We look forward to returning again soon.
Fantastic!
Amazing food, amazing drinks.
Great atmosphere, food and customer service as usual!!!
Your have to touch up on many things to accommodate a safe experience. Also, the food was abysmal .. the live band was wonderful but they deserved better, as all of us..
Brunch at Joanne was simply fantastic. The food was just outstanding (ricotta pancakes, Eggs Benedict on homemade biscuits, breakfast pizza) and the bottomless mimosas were a big hit. Service was perfect (thank you, Mike) and their COVID-19 precautions were textbook. We highly recommend this!
Amazing service and food!!
We felt like royalty! We had a huge, oval-shaped patio table waiting for us under an umbrella for outdoor dining in the early evening. We were surrounded by lovely flower boxes and festive lights that make you totally forget you're eating in the street! Our table had two more chairs than we actually needed- plenty of room! A gorgeous fresh bouquet of flowers sat at EACH end of the table. We literally had about four different servers either serve or check in on us throughout the entire time we were there- very attentive. The food was out of this world. We had pasta primavera, spaghetti and meatballs, penne with broccoli rabe and sausage, and a build-your-own pizza. Portions are plentiful. We all had full bellies and took lots home! It was my daughter's 13th birthday so dessert was a must! We had tiramisu and cannoli- heavenly! The prices are fair for the quality and portions you are given. I can't say enough good things about this place. I've been telling everyone about it. We did so many things during our little NYC getaway this past weekend, but when we got home and I asked the kids what their favorite part was, everyone said dinner!! We will definitely be repeat customers.
At the end the check took forever. Otherwise all good.
I arrived just as they were opening for the dinner crowd. I was greeted by a very nice bartender who chatted with me until the hostess got my table ready. The restaurant is clean and tidy. There are at least two fireplaces that were lit to add to the cozy ambiance. I had a difficult decision choosing my appetizer and my server told me they were known for their meatballs. She did not steer me wrong. Those meatballs are the things of my dreams. Several of the staff tended to my every need. I was brought bread and a drink and my water glass was never empty. I ordered the grilled mahi mahi with lemon caper sauce and green beans and it was prepared perfectly. I took a cannoli with me because I was very full. On my way out the door several of the staff wished me a nice evening and thanked me for my business. All in all, and I rarely give a flawless review, my experience here was perfect and I would definitely eat there again.
This is the second time we have visited this place. Used it last year 2019 and this year 2020 and it’s just amazing from the food to the atmosphere.
Explored Joannes while visiting the city on the recommendation of a friend, the ambience is wonderful. The food is reasonably priced and delicious!
Love everything about this place! Food and service was amazing
Pleasant neighborhood trattoria yet very near Lincoln Center good food well served in friendly environment.
My favorite restaurant in Manhattan. Everyone MUST try it.
The food was amazing! The service was exceptional. Love how cute the place is inside. Very nice. Sat by the fireplace. A bit noisy, but we could still hear each other talk. Definitely on our list of return restaurants in NYC
Brought someone that had never been and throughly enjoyed it
Great! Back twice in a week!
We loved it. Have been telling all my friends about it. Meatballs tasted just like my grandmothers.
Superb atmosphere, wonderful service and delicious food!!
Our food was outstanding!
We went to Joanne's Trattoria to celebrate our daughter's birthday and have to say the whole experience was wonderful! The staff was on point and the food was delicious. We all ordered something different and one dish was as good as the next. Thanks for a fabulous experience!
I ate at Joanne Trattoria with a friend and her 13 year old daughter. We had previously visited with a larger group. This time, we had a reservation for 5:30 following a matinee. We were seated in the back (veranda style) room. Our orders were simple: spaghetti with meatballs, spaghetti with eggplant meatballs, and spaghetti with olive oil and sauce on the side. These simple dishes were delicious but expensive for what they were. My friend and I each had a glass of wine and we were pleased with the wine suggestion. The servers were pleasant, but service was slow. We asked multiple times for a napkin to balance our wobbly table and a wine list. The chocolate mousse cake was disappointing..rather dry and not very chocolate-y. Our biggest complaint was that the process of getting and paying the check took about a half an hour. We were not displeased, but we agreed we may want to try somewhere new on our next visit from Boston.
Wonderful Salads and pizzas. The wine is also very good. Very reasonable for NYC.
I was very pleased with our decision to eat here. Everything was spectacular and when we visit NYC again, we will go back. The manager Laura & Marianne, our waitress were outstanding! Thank you for making our Friday night truly amazing & memorable!
Tight quarters but food and ambiance make up for that. Service was excellent. Lemon chicken with artichoke hearts was so good my mouth is watering thinking about it.
Joanne Trattoria is located on the ground floor of a brownstone on a quiet street on the UWS. Wood burning fireplaces in both the bar and main dining room.
Rustic and inviting ambience.
Was at Joanne Trattoria for a midweek Happy Hour.
$5 house wine and draft beer
Tempting appetizers: Enjoyed the meatballs!
Love going to lunch at Joanne! Great neighborhood spot, food is always delicious!
Wonderful food, wonderful staff, will definitely recommend, thank you
A great dinner experience. Cozy and casual neighborhood restaurant. We will definitely return on our next trip to New York
