Joia Restaurant
our second visit there - very enjoyable again- food was excellent -
Food was sub par
This is definitely a new favorite! Space was good for social distancing with a large dining room and tables well spread out. Was fairly loud, as a a large open space tends to echo a bit- but mostly because there was a large group celebrating very emphatically :) Service was phenomenal, everyone was very attentive and the owner or manager (not sure exactly) checked on us a few times, as did other servers aside from ours, all very friendly. Cocktails are delicious (I had 2). We started with the chorizo, which comes out flaming and our server cut it tableside. I ordered the seafood linguine special- HUGE with half a lobster and tons of seafood, delicious wine sauce. My husband ordered the picanha, which was cut at the table a few slices at a time, then taken back to roast more. After 2 or 3 rounds of this, he tapped out. Everything we ate was so delicious and we took a lot of leftovers home, since the portions are so generous. No room for dessert, but will definitely be back to try!
Food is always excellent and the owners are lovely and attentive.
With a raucous Saturday crowd, it was a bit hard to have conversations, but beyond that, the mealwas excellent. We both had amaretto sours, which were perfect. She had the stuffed lobster and raved about it, devouring the enormous plate completely, which is something for a 99 pound person. My pork loin was tasty, with great seasoning, perhaps cooked a hint more than i would prefer, but still juicy and delicious. The food is a bit pricey for the area, but the cheap drinks makes up for it.
Joia is a great new restaurant in Harrison with great food and service and really good Sangria
We arrived at the restaurant and no one was dining - it was 8 pm on Saturday evening. The waitress was very attentive. We ordered appetizers and entrees. The food was very disappointing. The octopus was tough and over cooked, the calamari seemed to be previously frozen and the paella was mostly rice with hardly any flavor and over cooked fish. The Sangria was good but we were served beer that was flat. It was a very expensive dinner that we didn’t finish. Restaurant could be promising if the food improves significantly.
The appetizers I had were very tasty and full of flavor so I was pretty disappointed by the snapper special. The fish was was very dry and there wasn't much seasoning or flavor.
Great for dinner after event at Red Bull Stadium - great portions for the price!!
Friendly and welcoming staff. Very attentive throughout the meal. Great Sangria! Stuffed mushrooms were very good. Calamari was a bit rubbery. Meals came with tons of sides. We took food home; couldn't finish; We didn't have dessert because we were too full, but the dessert menu looked really nice. Casual atmosphere. Lots of T.V.s for sports fans. Free parking in enclosed garage next door. Very clean rest rooms.
