Kefi at Yorgos
It took a very long time for a server to come to our table. Even though there were only 4 tables and two servers in our area the service was very slow.
Our appetizer was great, but my entree was overly salty.
The servers and one of the cooks and a manager seemed to know some of the other patrons and spent lots of time talking loudly with them, while paying less attention to other customers.
The servers had ill fitting masks and patrons were not wearing them away from their tables.
Kefi at Yorgos is a great place. Great food, good price, nice atmosphere ... It's one of our favorite places in Lancaster.
My wife and I took a trip to Lancaster and I made a reservation for Kefi at Yorgos after exploring the menu. I ordered a full Bronzino fish and my wife ordered the salmon. We also had the mussels appetizer. The food was dynamite and very reasonable. The drinks were made well and the service was excellent. Looking forward to going back next time we’re in town!
This was our first experience at Yorgo's. Having been an icon in the city for decades, I'm embarrassed to have not tried it previously.....but Saturday was the day. I booked a table for 2 at Kefi.....we showed up and was taken upstairs to a lavishly decorated facility. Freshly, tastefully decorated mid-to-high end setting. as they dropped the menu off, I was surprised as it was not what I expected. I (we) wanted a more "bar-food" menu. I told the waitress my dilemma and she quickly headed downstairs to save us a table. we were greeted with the same pleasant host and escorted to a great table....this is what I was looking for....at this time! the beer selection is very good and diverse, the food portions wee very satisfying and the prices were in line with the the Lancaster market. My overall rating is high, so get in early, as they only have seating for 30, and about 14 at the bar!
First experience here, and the atmosphere and the food were great! We enjoyed having table conversation without having to raise our voices over music or other noise, which was a big plus also. We’ll be back!
We had dinner with friends for the first time there and we loved it we will definitely be back food was amazing and very clean place service was great and very nice owners.
Great service and great food! We had the valentines special of duck with wild grain rice, asparagus and a raspberry sauce. The duck was cooked perfectly! Drinks are amazing and the Cesar salad was very good. Great restaurant for a special occasion and I cannot speak highly enough for the young mad that plays the saxophone, creates a great ambiance you cannot find at other restaurants in the area. We will certainly be coming back again!
Valentines dinner. Unfortunately there was a special menu for the holiday, was looking forward to try other things on their actual menu. The margarita was horrible, was pretty much tequila and lime juice, might has well got a couple shots of tequila. The music on the saxophone was great, he was taking requests, we asked him to to play our wedding song, it wasn’t on him music reader thing so he played the actual song on the portable speaker. Everything else was great. Food was perfect.
Excellent food! We loved the live music !
It was excellent. Food and service were exceptional.
Great food, service, and ambiance. First visit and we will be going back!!
Very attractive setting. Food was good. Service was excellent. Quiet.
This was our first visit and we enjoyed everything about it. Planning a return.
Great food. Pleasant surprise.
We were in town for a swim meet and we asked for a good local restaurant and Yorgos was recommended. Arrived early and they still accommodated us and then apologized for the wait which was only a few minutes. Absolutely loved it.
great food and service for our group of 10.
A trip to Lancaster should include dinner at Kefi ... great food, drinks and service!
My wife and I were in a situation where we had 1 and a half hours before are next event and needed somewhere to eat. Kefi was the restaurant we decided upon. Are expectations were exceeded! We booked a table for two on OpenTable. We were greeted by the Maitre d' who identified that we booked a table for two at Kefi, which was upstairs. We were seated promptly. Drink orders were taken quickly. The atmosphere was perfect for our conversation. Our food was very good. Will definitely be back!
Kefi at Yorgo’s is consistently great! We are never disappointed!!
Lovely decor. Friendly service. Very good food, for reasonable price.
We had a reservation and were asked if we’d like to sit on rooftop restaurant, to which we said yes. When we got up there, it was very noisy due to a music festival being held 1/2 block away. So we chose to sit indoors on the 2nd floor. We were the only patrons on that level for the entire meal. There were many people at the first floor bar and the rooftop. So although it was odd that it was so empty , we loved our food: a shared appetizer of breaded and fried eggplant which was delicious, not greasy. I had Chilean sea bass , Mediterranean style which was cooked In wine and olive oil with plenty of capers to add to the flavor. My partner had salmon baked in paper (can’t remember the French name) he had Caesar salad and I had a garden salad . Both the entrees were delicious. The salad was average. We ended with a shared baklava, which was wonderful, with perhaps more of the sweet honeyed sauce than I am used to. Overall , we thought the food was great, the service was attentive , we would have preferred Greek music over the Motown and other rock to add to the ambience. Although their menu on the website showed no prices, leading us to believe it would be very expensive, we thought it was reasonable for a good meal, with our entrees $21 and $26. Perhaps not advertising prices is scaring people away.
Excellent food and outstanding service!
We waited 1 1/2 hrs for our food!! They gave a lame excuse that they were busy. There were 3 tables occupied on the third floor where we sat outside, no one on the second and three people at the bar on the first floor. I ordered tuna it was ok but my wife had lamb chops severely over cooked.
I will never be back.
My husband and I dined at Kefi recently with another couple. It was a sunny and warm late spring evening and we were able to sit out on the deck overlooking Orange Street in Lancaster City. The service could not have been any better and both the food and cocktails were absolutely delectable! We enjoyed talking to another group of guests who traveled from Reading, Pa to dine at Kefi and they were as equally pleased as us. In addition, the owners come around to each table say hello which adds to the experience!
Good experience
We went for mother's day lunch because there were so few options available. I can only think our waitress was new because the service was slow and somewhat inadequate. We were seated quickly. Our drink and meal order taken. We then waited an hour and 15minutes for our meal. We had to ask for our warm bread which wasn't. The lobster bisque was only luke warm. The food didn't make you say mmm. Just average, nothing special. The owner's heard we were waiting and seem to speed things up. Everyone was very apologetic and we were offered free rice pudding to take home. They kept saying the delay was because it was mother's day but others came and went. We decided it just gave us more time to visit. Probably won't return.
We waited 1 hour for our food - during the wait I think we should have been offered bread or a free drink. It was Mother's Day but we had a reservation and 2 or the 4 items were the Mother's Day special. They shoud have been better staffed.
The food was very good. We all had seafood dishes. The Chilean sea bass is as excellent. Companions had lobster ravioli, tuna, branzino, salmon. All were excellent. Sadly they were out of dolmas and tiropita, so it didn’t really feel like a Greek restaurant.
Only people in the restaurant. Was not “set-up for dinner. Absolutely zero buzz. A beautiful Chilean Sea Bass was overcooked and most lokely frozen. No flavor in sides. Swiss chard tasted boiled and put on my plate. Decor was cute but wasted. Probably should stick to bar food. Wayyyyy overpriced. A bad dinner experience that cost us over $100 for two people. Will not go back.
Good food, great service, nice atmosphere, good value. Could definitely use more vegan/vegetarian options, though.
Wow, we were pleasantly surprised! I anticipated a decent experience, but they delivered well beyond that. The food was far better than the prices might suggest. Worthy of a return visit soon.
The food was delicious and the service was great. We will definitely be back.
The food at Kefi at Yorgos was outstanding! The sea bass was wonderful, with capers, tomatoes and mushrooms. My friend's steak was also very good. Getting seated and the service were both quite challenging. We had a 6 p.m. reservation on a Saturday night and arrived about 10 minutes early. By 6 p.m. the front entryway had 15 people packed in it, who had not been seated. We were finally seated about 6:10, but then it took more than 10 minutes to even get a glass of water - and that's only because I flagged down a waiter. We got water, but it was another 5 minutes before anyone took our drink order. While the food was some of the best I've had in Lancaster, make sure you have plenty of time and aren't hungry when you arrive!
Absolutely loved it! Our first time here...but won't be our last! Cozy and warm atmosphere. Not a large menu...and not traditional Mediterranean, but definitely a Mediterranean influence. I did hear one of the managers tell a guest they are revising their menu to include more traditional Greek dishes. Can't wait to see that! Our service was good, with at least four different people checking on us - but not overbearing. Food was wonderful! Great overall experience!
Despite listing a number of Greek dishes on the menu posted on Open Table, there were actually no Greek dishes available at dinner except avgolemeno, which was good but not great. The lamb chops and shrimp linguine main courses were good, while the salmon main course was bland. The petite filet was good but had to be sent back to the kitchen twice to get it cooked to medium rare as originally ordered. The truffle butter ordered was not added back to the steak after that, but we were still charged $4 for it despite pointing out the mistake to the waitress. The service was attentive but impatient. The dining room was noisy in part because of the loud music being played in the bar on the floor below. With so many other good options in downtown Lancaster, we won’t be back.
It was a very nice place to have dinner. Nothing outstanding but everything was certainly up to par. I'll definitely be back.
Totally enjoyed our dinner. Waitress was helpful and friendly. We all had fish dishes and they were wonderful. The Greek halibut was yummy - as were the sides. Branzino delicious. Definitely recommend!
Got a private room in the back... was fantastic... wait staff was swamped, but went OUT OF THEIR WAY to make sure we were accommodated
The service was good untill my wife's order was messed up but they fixed it promptly. Other then that food was very good nice place to go out to eat would recommend to anyone who likes Greek food. Will return.
Food was great. We shared a salad and appetizer and ordered our own meals. The portion sizes were decent so I had a little bit leftover to take home - good value for the price.
