We always have great meals at Le Provence. The Escargot and onion soup were great. The lamb and duck dishes were made to perfection and the desert was devoured. Our primary waiter who used to work downtown was outstanding. We went Easter Sunday PM and noted a few service glitches which was surprising. First, I have to ask 4 times to get extra bread for the escargot. On a night when they were not 1/2 full that was frustrating. Secondly, our entrees were brought out as our waiter was just taking away our appetizer plates which felt rushed, left us with no silverware, and the waiter clearly and appropriately frustrated. Thirdly, after delivering out entrees before appetizers were cleared ( ugh), it took 20 minutes to deliver the desert. Overall, people remembered that it was my daughter's birthday which we truly appreciated. However if you are going to charge up to 40 dollars for an entree ( Lamb), there better be service to justify those prices. We hope they will fix the service glitches ( none seemed to be the waiter's fault as we really liked him!) Grade B+...fix the glitches and it was A+
Nate is great! Wonderful evening.
I chose this restaurant because it was a book, to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was phenomenal. We will definitely be back.
My friend Casey was in town and we wanted to have a great dinner so, of course, we went to La Provence. We started off our meal with the tried and true Endive salad as well as a new two new and very welcome additions, the Cod Croquettes appetizer and the Crab & White Asapargus terrine. Casey said the Endive was the best salad he ever had in his life. We also both loved the croquettes and the terrine, as well. The presentation of both, like everything Chef Patrice Péron does, was impeccable! When you broke the croquettes open, steam and the most inviting aroma, flowed up towards you. The terrines beauty speaks for itself in the picture but tasted even better than it looked. For dinner we had the Salmon and the Rabbit. Both entrees were exactly what you expect from Chef Péron, perfection! Our desserts, the Chocolate Fondant & Creme Brûlée, were exactly the way you’d want your meal to end.
You might as well be In Provence. Pleasant atmosphere, helpful staff (ask for Michael), easy parking, food is superb. A local gem.
We had a lovely experience dining outside at La Provence. The food was delicious, the menu enticing, the ambience warm and cozy with the heat lamps and padded divider set up that the restaurant installed, I imagine for Covid, but easily something they should maintain as it helped shield some of the noise from the train tracks. My only complaint would be that the pricing for certain items was rather steep: the white asparagus topped with crab appetizer was very very tiny at a price of $23. But overall we had a really really nice time and it was so nice to get out to dinner and enjoy some time with friends with good food in a nice space!
We have never been disappointed at La Provence. All of the elements: food; service; ambiance are always top notch. We will be back.
Everything was delicious. We can’t wait to go back!
Love the menus and choices. Food is high quality and excellently prepared.
Delicious food and good service in a very busy night
Their outdoor set up has been a godsend during pandemic!
Good food. Good place for business dinner.
The food was delicious and the customer service was outstanding.
great neighborhood spot, food excellent, service excellent
It was great — as usual!
We love La Provence. The outside dining is the best. The food is wonderful and the owners and staff are great.
We are so fortunate to have this wonderful restaurant in Ambler. Love it
Too loud by the road and ambience not as nice as further back on the patio from the road. But it was great to be out dining, server was excellent, heat lamps were warm and happy to return again! French onion soup outstanding!
Lovely evening for dining out at a wonderful outdoor venue. Food and service excellent, as usual.
very nice restaurant. Service was excellent. Food very good. Prices were fair considering it is a French Restaurant.
Our server Michael was very attentive & took excellent care of us. The escargots were delicious and the salmon & duck breast were both cooked perfectly. Topped it off with profiteroles for dessert.
One of the best meals we have had out since the pandemic started !
A girls night out on a 50 some degree evening. Very cozy and beautiful outdoor setting.
La Provence is one of my favorite restaurants! It is a beautiful setting with excellent, delicious food and wonderful service! Highly recommend!
I was not familiar with this restaurant before booking. Simply put, it was one of my best dining experiences in the past 12 months. Trout almandine was great. Service, etc. was equally good. Bravo!
The BEST restaurant in the area. Need a wine recommendation, ask for Michael. Couldn't recommend with higher confidence
since expansion layout a bit funky, but worth a dinner. Food great, wait staff exceptional. and, BYOB!
Nice decor. Excellent service. Food was great - not overly French. I had the beef stew, which was fantastic. We sat inside because it was cold, but outside looks really nice - right along the train tracks.
La Provence is doing a very good job amid this pandemic; seating is limited and a bit complicated. The food was very good; not particularly "outstanding". My rack of lamb was "outstanding" - prepared to a perfect temperature and tender. However, it was served on a small bed of white beans, that were tasty, but added no excitement visually or or to the palette; I expected a bit more for the price. Again, the Belgian endive salad was deliciously prepared, but placed solely in an open bowl left nothing for the eye (and it it the most expensive salad on the menu. The onion soup was tasty, but the broth needed some "oomph". The most disappointing was the , not even two inch round, half inch thick slice of bread that was placed on a side dish that swallowed it up; we both asked for a second slice to go with the liquid on our entree plates. The profiteroles were delicious! Our server was friendly and kind, but felt as if he didn't have enough time to be attentive; he never returned to ask about our entrees until we were at least 3/4 way through. Will we return - more than likely; I'd like to give it another try.
Beautiful landscaping for outdoor dining with plenty of heat lamps was perfect for a March evening. The 3 course meal was exceptional, as well as the service. Delicious chocolate lava cake was warm and decadent.
Incredible food, incredible service, and such a cozy atmosphere. The best that Ambler has to offer!
Fantastic food and fantastic service! Well worth a visit.
This has been our go-to place for outdoor dining. They really set up the area for safety and comfort. We had brunch on a rainy day, snd stayed dry. The patio and old train platform has a roof, and they set up barriers on the track side and between table area. Plenty of heaters and firepits. Food and service consistently good. It’s BYO and free parking.
Great food and perfect outdoor area that felt very safe and warm!
Perfection!!! I have been going to this restaurant since the week it opened pre COVID. It is amazing how the owners and staff have made a slice of heaven during a much difficult time. Every visit we are received with kind and friendly staff. The food is consistently amazing and of the highest quality. It truly is a beautiful escape from the moment you enter until you return to reality and leave in your car. I recommend this gem to anyone who misses Paris!!!!!
Excellent food and service. Loved the Sole Meunière!!! Will be back!!
The food, the service, the ambiance is unbeatable.
The food was excellent, as well as the service. Everyone went out of their way to attend to our needs and take care of us. We dined outside and were amazed at how beautiful it was, as well as how warm and comfortable we were. A bit pricey, and the portions were not huge, but that is the traditional French dining experience. Will definitely return!
What an awesome outdoor setting! Loved the lights and the heated dining areas. The French cuisine is simply beautiful and this restaurant held up to its standards. Can't wait to go again soon.
We started outside which was really really cold. The owner kindly moved us inside and from that point on we had a fantastic dinner. Great food, great service, it is a wonderful spot!!!
Our server Del Roy was great. The food was outstanding! We had the escargot app, and for entree the steak (delicious flavor) and scallops. The scallops were a large serving considering you usually get maybe 3 or 4. I think there were 6 or 7. The profiteroles (filled w ice cream not cream) for dessert were great as well.
The only negative was we were outside (my reservation was for outdoor) and although the heaters were good for your upper body, your lower body & feet were really cold. I would suggest bringing a blanket if outside on a colder night.
In spite of that the food was GREAT! We will be back.
Thanks
We chose this restaurant specifically for the 1000 point table, which happened to be outside on a 15 degree night. All in all, the open table advertising with a 1000 point table worked because we really enjoyed our experience and will definitely come back. It was a bit chilly, even with all of the heaters, but not too bad. Really the only part of me that was uncomfortable were my feet. They were very cold on the freezing concrete. Had I worn warm snow boots, I would have been fine. Every employee we encountered gave us a warm smile and was very pleasant! The food was fantastic. It exceeded our expectations. We would definitely choose this place again, even if we had to sit out in the cold!
