From chef, cookbook author and PBS star, Vivian Howard, LENOIR reminds people that the South is a nuanced place with a storied history and disparate terrain that shapes us as well as our food traditions. Here we cook to perpetuate, honor and evolve the cuisine of the rural, agricultural South, and we back it up with hospitality that buys into the idea that food with a story tastes better. We had Sunday brunch mid morning and the service was excellent and the food was very good. It was a perfect day to sit on the porch. Overall, it was good value and we'd go there again.

Delicious food and generous portions! We started with the tuna crudo (pear, toasted pepita, fresno pepper, brown butter citrus dressing). It was yummy! My husband had the Peculiar Pig Pork and Beans (pork ribeye, baked beans, apple cider glaze, pickled mustard greens). I had the Daily Coastal Catch which was Red Snapper (cornflake crust, chive whipped potato, sauce gribiche, roe). Both entrees were fabulous and huge portions!

I had higher expectations based on comments I'd heard about the chef and venue. I was therefore surprised that the menu was somewhat limited. Our appetizers were very good, drinks selection was fine. My entree, the smashburger, was disappointing, though the side dish of french fries was excellent. My spouse loved his pork chop entree. Mixed feelings and the overall cost was high in relation to the level of enjoyment.

Our server, Andrew, was outstanding. Chase, the barman, was funny and great at his job. Food was most excellent. The cheesecake was the best we have EVER had!!! We met some very interesting folks at the bar, too....will definitely go back and recommend the bar and food to all!!!!
