Fantastic food and great choices for adult beverages! We will be back soon!!
I will say that almost everything was perfect. I loved my Caesar and linguine with clams. However, what was weird was my wife’s chicken parm was both excellent and poor. The chicken parm? Phenomenal. The chicken was crispy and not heavily breaded, with a good amount of cheese and sauce. But the side of pasta almost tasted like it had chlorine in it. So she kept it to the side because the chicken was plenty big.
Also, we got a cheesecake slice to end the night. We loved it. Obviously the cheesecake and cherry sauce on top was homemade. So homemade that one cherry still had a pit in it. I didn’t really care, but I didn’t want anyone accidentally breaking a tooth so I felt like I needed to let the kitchen know. They seemed to totally agree.
Great Food, Veal Parmigiana was excellent.
Thanks so much for the compliment! We hope to see you again soon!
Stopped in the other night on our road trip. We've been coming here for years but hadn't been there in awhile and noticed it had a new name. Original owner now has a partner, so they just changed the name. My wife stuck with what she knew she'd like (Chicken Marsala) and wasn't disappointed. I tried the cod special which was also really good. Service was good and the prices are not bad. Well worth it; glad we stopped in again!
The restaurant is in a great location, with a menu full of delicious items and plenty of options for people with food allergies. Even with limited parking, it was very easy to find a spot. I will definitely be returning.
Hi Stephen! Thanks for taking time to send us a nice review! We hope to see you again in the near future!
Though the ambiance was amazing, the food lacked the taste of authenticity I expected. Out of my party of 2 sent their food back completely and the others, including myself, decided to try and "doctor" it up with salt and pepper. It didnt help at all. The food was extremely bland. I was very disappointed because the media exposure this restaurant has been given and ambiance deserve 4-5 star cuisine.
The Chicken part and eggplant parm were delicious! Our waiter was attentive and very friendly. We will definitely visit again!
A decent attempt at reopening this restaurant. Still working out the kinks though. The servers couldn't be more lovely, but I went there specifically for zucchini noodles. No one didn't seem to know what they were and I got served a completely different dish. No explanation to be found. I'll go back, but I'll make sure they know what I'm ordering.
Way to go Ray!
Fun, exciting place.
Service a little erratic and less than friendly, but the food is outstanding.
It would help if the noise level could somehow be reduced.
We were, not at our preference, seated in the bar area where a large party was gong on(we had early reservations and the unfriendly hostess didn't even ask our seating preference). You literally had to shout to be heard.
With a little tweak here and there this could be a fun place with good food.
The food was delicious as always
Celebrated a friend's birthday during the Little Italy Arts Festival which was an added bonus. We had a reservation for 6:30, but were ready to eat earlier. The staff at Lew Gambino's (formerly Ciao Bella) welcomed us at 5:45 and accommodated our requeest. It was all-around great, and, when we left there were lots of folks waiting to be seated. Clearly popular -- and for good reason!
Loved the experience - the owner is delightful and the name has changed to Gambino's - the new part owner is Ray Lewis, of Ravens history. Try it, I think you will be vert happy with the menu, food, and experience!
We were sat at our table and then ignored for 30 minutes. No drink orders, no bread, no greeting...nothing. staff even walked to other tables around us. We left and went to Amicci's. Very frustrating.
Food was good however no one came back for about 20 minutes. Then we finally we ordered drinks & about 15 minutes laters we were brought bread. And then we ordered our dinner about 20 minutes laters & waited another 25 minutes before our food came. Everything hot & tasty, which made it a somewhat ok experience.
Great food. Drinks are a bit pricey. Surprised not a lot of diners that evening.
They did not have the bottle of wine we asked for when we first sat down—another table sat down next to us and the restaurant also didn’t have the wine they asked for either. The chicken Alfredo had no flavor and the chicken was just from a rotisserie and also unseasoned. When asking for a second round of bread as a way to get filled from the flavorless Alfredo, it took them about 15-20 minutes to bring it.
This restaurant is expensive for not using any seasoning and I would not recommend.
7 meals. One had the special but it wasn’t that good.
One of the best places I have been in Little Italy. Food was amazing and great atmosphere
Ciao Bella was tasteful, comfortable and accommodating. We had lovely seats, it is easy to find and our food was delicious. We had the Lasagna (yum), Chicken Cacciatore (yum) , Veal Saltimbuco (yum) and the Gnocci which were little pillows of love.
Good food, forgetful waiter.
Wonderful people, the owner was great. Awesome experience
They seem to be short on wait staff. Our waiter did a fine job even though the place was busy.
They were extremely short staffed. Our waiter was soo incredibly kind. He was also very knowledgeable of my food allergy and if he didn’t know the answer he immediately asked the chef.
It took over an hour to get our food. The food was really good once we got it but they need chef Ramsey to come revamp the place.
Great gluten free selections for my wife. Nice high top table by the window to watch the action in Little Italy. Food and service were very good, we will be back.
Service is always fantastic and the food is consistently good!
The Caesar Salad was delicious, the veal Marsala sugary, the linguini in white clam sauce vinegary and hard to chew, and the veal parm was dry.
I took my girlfriend here, it was our first time. I can't remember my waiter name but he knew the menu to a T, and his recommendation about the dish was spot on as well. The atmosphere was romantic although you didn't have to be in your Sundays finest. Will definitely return here.
Great food and service. They served hot bread with oil. I asked for butter and when our server brought it he also brought more warm bread since the other had cooled. We will come back again when we are in town.
If I could have left 0 stars I would’ve. My husband and our family of 5 were to join my parents to eat here for my birthday as a special trip to Baltimore. Unfortunately, after arriving and being greeted by signs that said, under new management, the host walked past us at least 4 times. The restaurant had 3 patrons and there was not a line. Finally, we inquired about our reservation to which the host looked surprised. He came back sat two parties that arrived after us. We continued standing for another 10 minutes after the other parties had been seated and inquired again. He again acted surprised and then pointed to one of the many empty tables. We sat down and were ignored for another 5 minutes, no apologies were given. We got up and left. With the many places to enjoy great service and food, you don’t have to eat an establishment where the staff is unkind and unresponsive.
Authentic Italian cuisine! Just earnest I was searching for! Perfecto!
Had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent as was the food. The owner Tony was engaging and camt wait to come back for another afternoon lunch with my wife
We arrived 5 minutes after our reservation time only to wait another 10 for a table and 30 for a server. By the time they arrived we were so turned off by being ignored we opted for Aldo’s (which was INCREDIBLE by the way!!). There was no music, the manager didn’t ever check on us, the server took his time and then when we asked why it took so long he said “why, are you in a hurry?” Super disappointed and will not be trying again.
Great food; great seemingly family owned atmosphere. Only issue is we couldn't sit as soon as we arrived even though we had a reservation. Other than that the night was perfect.
Multiple food dishes, all very good.
Service was verrrry slow and it was not crazy busy.
Ciao Bella has one of the best tasting pasta sauces in Little Italy. The service is friendly and staff is attentive.
Food was fantastic. Service was remarkable. Would recommend for date night or for some great Italian comfort food
The house salad was unexciting lacking anything special in taste.
The Chicken Picatta also lacked anything unique in taste and in fact was very weak in taste.
The Veal Francaise was over cooked which killed the delicacy of be made thin
The above with 2 glasses of Chardonnay cost $91
We were very disappointed for $91
No parking valet. No designated parking lot
Absolutely NO Reason to ever go back.
Would have given it a higher rating except they were out of too many items. Our party of five had to rethink our order too many times. They were out of the only appetizer we wanted and they were out of two of the entrees we ordered. Sadly, I had actually checked in advance that they served gnocchi since two in our party like it better than pasta. It's on the menu, but they were out of it. The people at the table next to us actually walked out without ordering because of the limited menu. It's no wonder Sunday night is not the time to go to small, individually-owned restaurants. The food we had was delicious and the staff was pleasant.
I went this past Saturday and made reservation on Opentable. They were 30 minutes back-up on reservations made and even told us we were next but then served someone else before us even though they came in after us. The hostess was not the most pleasant and gave attitude. I've been here before and never had this experience so im shocked.
Waited over thirty minutes after our reservation time to be seated, food was not good and overpriced, service was not good
