Food was disappointing -We just moved down from the UES and always enjoyed Cafe D’Alsace - the meal on Saturday didn’t even come close, sorry

Everything was good. Food and drink were fine. Service was okay.

Terrific food and a pretty good heat set up with us covered on three sides with lamps directly over the tables. Loved the duck and creme brulee!

Solid bistro, nice ambiance, good service. Big space for covid times.

I think everyone's food was good, but overall, L'Express missed the mark. Someone checked me in but didn't seat me. The waiter filled our (wine & champagne) glasses right to the brim. The music got loud requiring us to speak louder which was therefore riskier. There was only one bottle of each thing we ordered. Suddenly at 10pm we were told we had to leave. Seems like it would be easy to train the staff, stock the wine cellar, and give diners a 15 minute warning before closing.
I'm saying I wouldn't recommend to a friend but am hopeful it was just an off night.

L’Express has always been a favorite neighborhood spot and the restaurant has impressively adapted its outdoor-dining area to make Park Avenue South feel a little bit like a French street cafe. Outdoor dining is always at the mercy of weather and general NYC noise, but we were able to ignore the elements and enjoy the bistro fare we’ve missed so much.

The outdoor seating is great. The food is fine and reasonably priced. We did have to wait quite a while for service and to receive our orders but not egregiously long.

Staff was attentive but didn’t rush us. I had stake tartare- not too spicy/salty. My friend had salmon which she said was very good. The fries were not as crispy as I would had liked. Overall very pleasant experience

Brunch hours are noisy.... but that may be part of the fun

Our steaks were delicious. Mine was very tough though, had to really cut it. My boyfriend's cutlike butter though. We would most likely return.

Always a fantastic "go to" place with the plus of being 24 hours. L'Express is very consistently good- with pomme frittes to die for, and a great staff- wonderful old school NY meets old school Paris vibe.

Service was great, French onion and soup of the day were great, but burgers were lacking. Meat not seasoned at all unfortunately.

Love L’Express! We go there as often as possible!

Great V day dinner

Had a wonderful dining experience at L’Express. It gives you the feel of being in France with the close tables, the wonderful food, and invites you to be friendly to the people at the table next to you (like in Paris).

The only thing about our meal that I wish was better was that they were short staffed on Valentines day and our waitress was definitely overwhelmed. Otherwise, a wonderful experience and great food.

Duck breast was on the menu. I ordered it...a duck leg was served. I should have sent it back, but it was a birthday and I didn’t want to make a fuss. My husband ordered steak tartar entree. It was the size of an appetizer.
The food was not good. I wouldn’t return or recommend it.
Our waitress was very nice, but she’s not the cook.

This is a perfect place for a drink after work with friends

Excellent service, very good food and ambiance, we could use a bit more light as diners were forced to use their cell phones to read the menu.

The food is always fantastic. But it was so noisy and chaotic that we couldn't hear our friends and couldn't have a good conversation.

The salmon burger special was very poor. The waiter was nice and attentive, but he spilled some of the wine when he poured it in my glass.

We have been coming here for years and were bummed how long our food took with an early 6pm seating and our order in before the dining room got busier.

3 of us got the salmon which was anything but hot. I would call it less than tepid - brother asked for green beans in place of rice, got rice - even though he agreed to an up charge - cousin got a sinewy piece of steak with his steak frites - just not a great experience and we bought expensive wine....we will probably not go back now since so many other options in our neighborhood and L’Express entrées are still approx $30.

Salmon fish is super delicious, Can't wait to go back.

Service very good. Food quality was disappointing. Steak frite was average at best - the hangar steak was not properly butchered. The lobster bisque was inedible - my wife returned it.

Went here for Christmas lunch with the family. The family part wasn't so great, but the service was. The waiter was really, really great. Bilingual, to boot.

L’express is consistent. One of my favorite restaurants. The food and service are terrific. It was very busy but not usual for a Friday night and a few days before the Holidays. However, the service and food are consistent no matter how busy it is. I had the skirt steak and my partner the trout. Both delicious!!

We were there on a Friday night and seated in the bar area which was VERY LOUD. The food and service were very good but the whole experience was not as good as usual because of the noise level. I will definitely go back but ask to sit away from the bar.

Of course we love you darlings. Food great, staff nice, busy busy fun environment!

been here many, many times....very consistent....food is good...service is good....would feel better about this place though if there was a tad more space between tables....would lend itself to more intimate conversations...
