   The food quality has deteriorated significantly since we have last time visited ( about 6 months ago). The food dishes/items served are totally not worth the money. The fish Carpaccio had absolutely no flavor, was extra chewy and I really struggled to finish it. Poke tasted like the frozen poke from Safeway without any salt or flavor... Stake was ok. just OK. Wine is still the same, expensive but good. Service is very good. Thank you, servers!! Overall, I would not recommend this place for food, or for a special occasion. May be for an expensive but good drink given a view the place offers on a nice sunny day.

   Pros- Great view, great food and the staff was nice. The pork shank was incredible. Cons- 2 out of the 7 outdoor heaters were working, no blankets at first (they found some later), main dish of scallops included 3 scallops- no side, no veggies, nothing else. Delicious, though.    We had a reservation for my birthday and we’re also staying at the resort but the patio had no umbrellas or heat and they were unable to accommodate an inside table. The busser was amazing and he went to the host 3 times to request us to move. The host asked if she could put two high chairs on top of each other for our infant son bc she moved us to a high top.

   EXTRAORDINARY GEM in the Berkeley Hills. Unbelievable views; incredibly creative menu for all eaters; unbelievably attentive and caring service; wonderful cloth napkins, seating, table, serving ware. Just a wonderful experience. Headed back in very near future. Tell everyone!

   We had lunch at Limewood to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was a beautiful day, and we sat out on the deck. The property at the Claremont is lovely, and the view spectacular. The food was good but a little disappointing. They may have just been having an off day in the kitchen. What saved it was the service. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back and, perhaps, just order something different next time.

   We had Sunday brunch at Limewood with a party of 6--3 seniors with physical challenges, 2 young parents, and a squirmy 3-year-old grandson. Everything went well from the moment we arrived. The valets in the parking lot were especially kind and helpful, patiently supporting the most frail senior as he got out of and later into the car. Our server was efficient and professional, making helpful suggestions for the youngest and oldest diners. The food was delicious--as always. We've eaten at the Claremont many times over many years and it seems to get better and better.

    Our service was very lovely and friendly. I was disappointed the menu was so limited. The frittata was tasty, but the accompanying salad was tasteless as was the strawberry salad we had as an appetizer. I guess I expected more for the price and the reputation of the place. Noise level was also loud, but the view was beautiful.

    What a lovely meal. Impeccable service, delicious food, gorgeous surroundings and million dollar view. 4pm was a great time to go cause the golden gate bridge was in full view, not yet enveloped in fog. Cant wait to go again!

    My family and I had lunch at Limewood for the first time during Mother's day weekend. The experience was wonderful. The staff are friendly, accommodating and attentive. They seated us at a table with a beautiful view of the bay and the city. The food was delicious. They made our Mother's day dinner memorable.

    The hostess was SO rude and ruined my mother's day brunch with her condesending comments. She was clearly in the wrong service industry. Bad customer service dulled the food and the experience.

    It was a great afternoon with the family. Our server, Chase, was great, very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. All servers that made sure our food arrived and our water glasses were filled were gracious with friendly attitudes. We had a great time and will return for another fine meal.

    The food here is always just okay. There are a few staples that never miss (like the burger), but I tried something different and ended up with a lukewarm steak and eggs with a not great chimichurri. The ambiance and view are really what makes this place pleasurable in addition to the lovely staff.

    The space has been enlarged and is modern and welcoming. The view is a big plus. The menu is a pleasant surprise, showing innovation throughout. Being a very senior customer, the noise level made it very hard to hear my companion..

    I tend to come back again and again to the Claremont because location. Honestly this last experience was the best. We were able to get everything we wanted and then some. I always first sit down here and wonder why did I pick such a foofie place. But everything was delicious and even my vegan husband was able to customize a dish so he could get something a little upscale. We were celebrating Mother’s Day early and his ultramarathon Miwok. And the price honestly wasn’t too bad for brunch (under 100 for 2). The patio was all that we wanted and because it was a weekend early for Mother’s Day, it wasn’t crowded at all. Thanks Claremont for all the magical memories (and Limewood bar & restaurant)!

    I took my Mom for an early Mother's Day brunch. I knew I picked the right place at Limewood the moment I stepped foot in the restaurant. This has always been my favorite restaurant in Oakland and, as always, it didn't disappoint. From Rafael at the bar (EXCELLENT DRINKS!) to Aman, our server, to the hosts... we felt like VIPs the whole time. We were seated at the chef's table and we never felt rushed. The service is wonderful, the staff invited us to keep coming back to visit -- even to just plug at the restaurant with my laptop to work. What hospitality! We will keep coming back not just for special occasions, but for everyday celebrations as well.

    Em was an excellent server. She was extremely knowledgeable of the entire menu and had an outstanding personality! We had the Covina fish, fried chicken and two orders of Brussels sprouts. All were yummy and satisfying!!!

    We eat at Limewood often and enjoy the ambiance, view, food, convenience and the staff we have come to know over the years. I just wish they would let us know when the heaters are out when we reserve outdoor seating - which is most of the time.

    Limewood is consistently a lovely experience. I'm so grateful for the staff, who always treat me with dignity and who clearly take pride in their jobs. That's almost the best part. The food is enjoyable, and plated beautifully. Well-curated selection. Drink menu is extensive and lovely. We never felt hurried during our brunch, and could enjoy the gorgeous view of the Bay.     We advised in advance that we were celebrating and received a warm welcome. It’s a lovely spot and we’ve been before. The server was pleasant, delivered drinks and took our order, but things went downhill after that. Food arrived cold. My wife’s omelet didn’t turn up and I was only able to get my server’s attention by standing up. She advised me the meal was on its way, then carried on opening wine at the next table. I waited a few minutes and stood again to make my way to the manager’s station. This prompted my server to collect the omelet which was sitting under a heat lamp. We then had a difficult time settling the bill because we just couldn’t get anyone’s attention. We were comp’ed the omelet which was a nice gesture. Unfortunately on this occasion, the food quality and service did not meet expectations.
