Great Italian food. Superb service. One of our top favorite restaurants in Long Beach.
I am sure this is usually a great place. Love the menu and ambiance. Our waiter had a rough night, and my wife’s ravioli dish was poorly cooked and no lemon in a dish with that as a signature flavor. It was overcooked and kind of gross. Waiter forgot to bring our salads until the entrees had been delivered and had to be reminded. Rest of our dishes were very good. Waiter apologized and tried to make it all ok. Good effort. We will try it again, every great place has an off night from time to time.
Great location. Food was tasty. Presentation of dishes left a little to be desired in terms of aesthetics and arrangement even though they tasted better than they looked.
Excellent server... quiet corner...great food!
Waiters were very accommodating
Wonderful evening. Great service.
Everything was perfect. Only downside was the lack of AC
I love this restaurant but this last visit...service was slow. The great food was worth it and I’ll be back.
Our waiter what great! Attentive, made our anniversary that much better.
Birthday dinner out with friends. Food and service was exceptional and the live opera singer AMAZING!! Thank you for a wonderful night!
Great choice for a business after a trade show at the LB Convention Center
Beautiful ambiance, fantastic server, delicious food. Loved loved the butternut pasta!
Thé perfect spot for dinner before the Symphony. Attention is on everything from the steps to the inside, to the sidewalk out and the complete experience with fine dining. I had guests- totally taken in with our server to the dessert.
The only problem is the wine dinner was down stairs which gets to be a little noisy. Other than that, no complaints. Food was delicious, and the wine was free flowing
When going here, make sure you speak with someone that knows what wines are available. We ordered 3 times and only by the 3rd time did they have the wines we wanted. Otherwise, one dish came out cold - everything else was OK - not as good as we expected from the ratings.
Love this place. I use this as my go to place for business luncheons. Can't recommend it enough.
We dine at this restaurant in almost every special occasion because service, food, atmosphere and always a special experience. Javier L. Ginzalez & Mary Ellen Mitchell
Probably go to L’ Opera a few times a year, did not disappoint again. Food was good, my Old Fashion was perfect, etc. Thank you.
Amazing food, service and environment. Lovely dinner time with family. Each time we come they are consistent with all they offer. Over the tops service!
I ordered the spaghetti frutti de mare. It was dry and overly salty, not what I expected from such a nice restaurant.
The food was good but sadly, their Favorito pasta dish was not available again. I read multiple Yelp reviews where the dish wasn't available, and hoped for the best but no luck.
We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I notated it on our Open Table reservation, and relayed the same to the host. It's just disappointing when they don't recognize your special occasion. As someone who works in the restaurant hospitality business, I find their service lacking that the message was not relayed to our server. Not that I was looking for anything free, but it would have been nice if they recognized our celebration. Secondly, it seemed like they were trying to rush us out. it happened to be some sort of convention week and there were a lot of people from the convention for dinner. The busboy kept coming up to our table asking if I was done with my food even when I clearly wasn't.
Celebrated my husband's birthday on Saturday night and everyone in our party had a wonderful experience. Food and service were incredible. Sam, an opera singer with an amazing voice, came and sang at our table twice in both English and Italian! Love L'Opera, highly recommend for any occasion.
Good and service were terrific
We had a beautiful experience and look forward to returning soon.
Great food. Great service.
Friendly, helpful, attentive, courteous, informative and non intrusive — an outstanding combination of service from our server Scott who also happens to be the sommelier. His assistance in our wine selection was impeccable and his recommendation paired well with our food choices.
The entre items were delectable — well prepared and well crafted.
A great meal, as always. These are some of the reasons why L’Opera maintains a perennial top perch in Long Beach area restaurants and why we keep returning.
dishes were not as expected not that great honestly and expensive.
We’ve enjoyed this restaurant for years. The food is always good.the menu has changed a lot from the last time we were there, so now there’s a lot of new things we want to try! And there’s a daily special menu which featured some things that had been removed from the daily and that was a nice surprise. Now we’ll be looking for some ‘old’ favorites on the daily specials!
I would definately recommend L'Opera to a friend, but I would disuade them from going to the location............it has really changed since I last dined there several years ago..........too bad, it's a great restaurant!!
Scott was the best!
My husband and I are both vegan. I had the quinoa dish and it was delicious, my husband had the eggplant dish and it was not great. The service was excellent and the wait staff was knowledgeable and helpful for our dietary concerns. The bruschetta was amazing but the portion was small. It was expensive and I probably won’t go again because it was expensive for what we ordered. We decided to go there because my Dad was in town and he is not vegan. While I probably won’t go there again unless I have non-vegan Italian lovers with me I have recommended the quinoa dish on my Instagram for those looking for a fancy white tablecloth place to go with non vegans as there was a fair amount vegan options.
Our food was good, but a bit on a greasy side.
Great food, service, atmosphere and server! We went for my moms 70th birthday and had a great evening!
There's Valet which is highly recommended on the weekends. Since we were there on a Monday, we parked off Broadway which isn't far at all. When entering, we were greeted by the hosts which were quite friendly. This place has a nice classy ambiance and pretty intimate. The tables are not that close to each other so we didn't have issues hearing other people's conversations. Our server Alex, is the best! He made sure my GF and I enjoyed our anniversary together.
They gave us a basket of warm soft bread, bread thins and sticks with chimichurri sauce. We ordered an old fashioned and a peach margarita. It was well made and quite strong. The appetizer we ordered was the tare-tare which was delicious. Not fishy at all with each layers of fish on top of crackers. The serving is kind of small so only meant for two people. Next we ordered the 40 oz. Tomahawk Steak which is a good deal for that price and comes with a side of mushrooms and large plate of spaghetti. The steak was huge and sooooo goood!!!! You can order the steak pre-cut but we kept it whole and cut it our selves. The spaghetti was just alright but the steak melted in our mouths especially pairing it with a nice bottle of Shiraz. Two of us actually couldn't finish the steak and were both quite full and satisfied.
At the end of the night, Alex surprised us with a candle, surrounded by whip cream and chocolate covered strawberries. That really made our night! Overall, our server was the best and the food was quite delicious! Highly recommend coming here for a nice romantic dinner.
Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helped us pick out some really good options. Also very funny. Prices was reasonable. I wished they could have offered us a free dessert considering we were celebrating our anniversary since that’s what we usually get from other high end Resturaunts but nonetheless it was a fantastic experience.
Service was fantastic. Great food quality and ambiance. Cocktail drinks were sure strong but still delicious. First time hearing an opera singer in person. Overall, a great place to take someone for dinner or special occasion.
It was recommended by a friend and I’m so happy we went. Our server was awesome .. the food was perfection and they even treated us to an additional appetizer at no charge since they knew it was our first time. We will definitely be going back! Love it!
It was my husband’s birthday! Service, Food, Atmosphere outstanding! We will be back!
They have an opera singer who was divine! So special to have a beautiful aria sung just for you at your table!!!
