Cafe L'oscar offers all the charm and sophistication of a Parisian cafe. A food lover's lair, it is the go-to-place for delectable breakfasts, bistro-style lunches, and intimate evening dining, or simply a late-night dessert and a soothing glass of wine.
Very good value , food very good , we were the only people in the restaurant so a tad quiet , but staff very friendly and helpful
Food was below average and really not good enough for this price range. Place was beautiful and service was great but food was really underwhelming.
A welcoming and friendly staffs. They also make sure everything is okay. The ambience was lovely! Wife was very happy. Food was excellent! Definitely coming back with and will recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Dear Michael, Thank you so much for your feedback! We are delighted you enjoyed your dining experience with us and we really look forward to welcoming you back again soon. L'oscar London
Beautiful decor, nice atmosphere, attentive service, the menu is small mall, but the food is delicious
Thank you so much for your lovely review Alex. We are delighted you enjoyed you meal with us and we hope to welcome you back on another occasion soon.
A relaxed, professional environment where you can just lap up the luxury! Highly recommend a visit to the bar afterwards for their jazz singers!
The restaurant has an amazing ambiance and the staff are very attentive without being over zealous. The food is fairly reasonably priced and you don't have to spend too much (£15 for a burger and fries). That being said we spent 190 but that was 3 courses and wine.
The amber bar is amazing well worth a visit
I got a special cocktail made for me to celebrate my birthday. The service was the best, such attentive staff. Absolutely lovely. I wish I could give 10 stars
Quality food and service in classy and comfortable surroundings.
The staff were lovely, the venue was quiet for a saturday morning and for the price and setting the food was nice but not of the standard I have encountered at similar places
Lovely food, Greek salad was small for a main dish though.
Beautiful location and great staff just food was okay for the location.
We had dinner at L’Oscar on New Year’s Eve before heading to the fireworks. We chose it from reading Open Table reviews and it couldn’t have been better. Every single items we ordered was terrific. Great warm bread, the pappardelle was terrific and the ribeye was cooked to perfection. Our salad was refreshing and the potatoes went with the steak as they are supposed to. We will definitely be back on our next trip to London. And the room itself is beautiful. The service by the entire staff was impeccable. Ana-Mari took care of us and did an exceptional job. This was in our top 3 dinners of 2019. We returned home New Years Day or if not we would have been back at L’Oscar for another meal!
The best service I had in my life. Food was incredible. I definitely recomend this restaurant for a special occasion or dating.
Everything was perfect!!!
Amazing food and location, outstanding service! Rarely experienced such great service! We will definitely be back soon.
Food was very good. Service was a little chaotic. The tables have extremely high legs and feet making sitting against the banquettes a little awkward!
Friendly staff. Great ambiance and good location for pre theatre dinner away from the crowds of the theatre district. Food was ok. Nothing too special. Beautiful hotel
I enjoyed the Moroccan soup to start with an amazing mix of flavours, the cod for main was delicious and cooked to perfection whilst the dessert of sticky ginger pudding and vanilla ice cream was perfection. The champagne was amazing as was the decor and service. Thoroughly recommended and will be back soon.
Very fancy restaurant, limited food options for breakfast but what they offer is great. The staff is friendly too. Would definitely recommend for a date or a business breakfast
We were all extremely pleased with the welcome, the ambience, the food, the value and overall pleasure of dining at L’Oscar before going on to the theatre. We shall all certainly recommend this to our friends and are already planning another trip to London which will include a great meal at the restaurant.
Wonderful service, excellent food in a welcing and charming atmosphere
Lovely atmosphere. Great food.
My new fave place! Pure opulence and decadence! I visited the Baptist bar before my reservation at Café L’Oscar the service and drinks were divine and the experience continued into Café L’Oscar for our 9pm reservation for dessert (AMAZING) and cocktails (DELISH). Being a Monday evening it was very quiet and that just added to the sultry atmosphere. Thank you to the amazing staff, you all made my partner’s birthday so special. We’ll be back!
Dining experience and service was excellent. Staff arranged a small tour and history of hotel which we really enjoyed.
The food was served far too quickly and this left us feeling rushed. The starters came out after 5 mins of ordering and no sooner had we finished, our plates were cleared and the mains were served! We were so rushed that by the time it came to looking at a dessert menu, we couldn’t face it.
The staff were friendly and polite and the food was first class - just a shame about the timings, we were in there not much more than an hour.
despite having a booking there was no table available so we were put in the lobby room. Then we waited 10 minutes before anyone came to us. I ordered Sausages, bacon and toast. I got one sausage and one piece of bacon. For the prices charged it was a disappointing breakfast meeting. Service was slow from arrival to departure.
Have walked past so many times on my way to work and have wanted to visit to see if it was as good as I imagined. And yes, it was. Everything about our visit lived up to expectations - from the sumptuous decor to the welcoming and professional staff. The food was well presented and delicious - with the menu catering for everyone. Fabulous experience, can’t wait to return.
Great venue but indifferent menu Service awful. Starter spoilt too much dressing main course bad except the chips were fantastic Dessert menu uninspired. Place looks great but expensive and very disappointing
Wonderful experience! Amazing service and atmosphere and even though it’s designed impeccably it is still comfortable, not stuffy.
Can’t wait to plan another dinner there.
Cafe’ L Oscar is a lovely place to go good service and interesting drinks but no bar snacks with them. But the food was really disappointing my friend is a vegetarian and she found the choice very uninspired a veg ratatouille veg pie and a mushroom pasta ! Our starter was good a lobster salad . Me and my husband had a cheese burger which was very plain no relish and the fries were the worse I have ever had I have no idea what oil they are fried in but they were horrible.
The best rump steak I’ve ever eaten. Incredible service. Total perfection. Highly recommend for an early dinner
I attended Cafe L'oscar for a business lunch, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, decor and overall experience. I would highly recommend people to try it out.
We would definitely return to this venue, the food was good and the staff were lovely. We chose to eat early and therefore it was extremely quiet so would opt for a later table next time.
We had seen this place and liked the look of it so we booked and were not disappointed. The food was terrific (and the fries plentiful) and the surroundings were first rate. The staff were attentive and did everything they could to help. My partner asked for gluten-free and they went as far as ensuring the fries were done in a fryer that had not been used that day so that the oil would not have come into contact with anything else. Little things like that make a difference. We will be coming back.
What a wonderful restaurant, the food is good and the staff are brilliant.
Our meals were excellent. Garlic soup. Navarin of lamb. Cod. All highly recommended. Why the mediocre review? Bordeaux should not be served in a water goblet. Serve bottles of pricey wine in appropriate glasses and I’ll come back.
Good food but overpriced
Overall an excellent lunch; they had run out of gluten free pasta, so my preferred dish was out of bounds. Suggested they get a pack from Sainsbury's opposite, but the idea didn't impress the maitre'd. I would have been impressed if they had and guaranteed a return visit ... but there you go.
Had a great time with a group of friends, very lovely waitress and super friendly and lovely decor.
We all had the pre theatre menu which was very good value and high quality.
However, we found the least expensive wine was simply too expensive for a repeat event. With 5 of us our bill was well over £400 and our wine was £45 a bottle which is simply too expensive I feel.
I would recommend the place but stick to sparkling water. They need to offer a mid twenties bottle of white quite frankly.
A lovely little 'secret' in the centre of London - great staff, delicious food and a really fun environment. Highly recommend.
