Mad Fox Brewing Company
Sunday: 10:00am - 11:00pm; Brunch: Saturday and Sunday: 10:00am - 3:00pm
Great beer, great atmosphere, great menu, and great value. I'll be back the next time I'm in town.
We enjoy Mad Fox each time - food and service always good.
Beer was good, food was ok, service was poor.
Mad Fox Brewery is always a great place to gather with friends for fabulous FOOD and BEER. The service is always top notch, its a fun place to dine for a quick bite or a group gathering. We will definitely be back soon. The pizzas are our absolute favorites but everything is tasty and delicious.
Easy and delicious dinner before we headed out for a show. Parking was free, some good specials and a good array of wines for non-beer consumers. We had two turkey burgers plus a pizza for our three diners, plus the Mediteranean Sampler as an app. All four were good enough so that we'd do it again. Hostesses were delightful. Actually ran into some friends over dinner, adding to a very enjoyable experience.
Had a terrific time at the 8th anniversary party. The owner is very nice and interacted with the guests. The band, Swell, had a fun retro sound. Free cake, awesome craft beer, tasty food, outdoor seating, etc. make this place one of our favorites.
Wonderful beer of course, 4 tastings for under $8.00 is a great value. Family friendly dining, very good food and our service was excellent.
The Mad Fox never disappoints! After moving across the street I dine and drink here more often and continue to be impressed with how consistently good their food, service and in-house brews are. Tonight I met a friend for a quick dinner and drinks before a free blues performance at nearby Cherry Hill Park. As always, they welcomed my rescue Shiba Inu on their patio and immediately served him a fresh bowl of water - with ice! After a nice dinner and a brew for me, off to the park we went!
The beer was really good and the pizza was fine. However, our server made us feel very rushed. I ended up leaving feeling like I really hadn't eaten. Granted we had a small child with us so we weren't looking to linger all night but I felt like the server wanted us gone quickly.
Overall everything was great until the trivia started. Then the server was overwhelmed and our service was slow.
Great beers for all tastes. I especially love the Lindy’s Weiss. My husband likes the Defender APA. Great service — she didn’t hover too much, but she checked on us often to make sure we had everything we needed. We were talking/catching up a lot, so a little slow to order, but she was very friendly and accommodating. Great place. I had the fish tacos, which were very good!
Another great experience. Mackenzie is a fantastically upbeat and efficient server. Thanks!
Service was exceptional for a bar. I have been happy with the food
I mentioned to the receptionist that we had reservations but she didn't respond. I guess because there were plenty of empty tables for lunch. I had the roast beef sandwich and it was very good--except way to big. My two friends had salads that they said were good - but way to big so each person left (wasted) half a salad. I suggest more reasonable portions with appropriate reduction of prices.
Our waiter was very nice
Fun brunch buffet for Father’s Day. Our server was excellent with speedy drink service and clearing plates. Good times.
did not know fathers day was buffet. on open table where i booked i saw the brunch menu. they could not accomadate for lactose intolerant individuals which left my daughter eating beans and rice.
Went for Father's Day brunch. As usual, ambience and service were great, and on paper the menu looked great. Unfortunately, many of the dishes were cold (chafing dishes weren't keeping things warm enough), and many were slow to refill when ran low. Special drinks menu: bloody mary was very good, but juice-based mimosa was bland and kind of flat. They took it off the bill. We love Mad Fox, but it's our recollection that when it opened, food was always a significant cut above. Lately, it seems like they're settling for a lot less than that.
Our server was awesome but the food and beers were not great. Had to send one thing back and should have sent the burger back (it was overcooked).
We found a new favorite. The beer is awesome and the food is great too!
Great outdoor setting. Happy to bring my dog and daughters. I love the menu options and happy hour.
Not your typical brewery! Nice and comfy setting for casual dining, good food and great service. Of course, great selections of beers!
Cast Conditioned Ale... the only place in the whole DC area that I know who sells it. Thank you Mad Fox.
Aiden was fantastic. Get in his section if you have the option!
I would describe this as a food forward brewery. The food is worth going for and the beer is good as well.
Service was slow and the food was extremely bland. However, the beer was decent
This place is Turrible with a capital TU. First off there is a appetizer on this website called beer batter onion rings placed by a user that said they had them at the Mad Fox and they loved them. Well this place didn’t have those and the onion rings I ordered didn’t match the picture provided. Also the waiter said it comes with a ranch dipping sauce and it actually comes with a ranch/horseradish sauce which is not ranch. So we asked for just ranch and he said no sorry that’s how it comes. So we reply with then it’s not edible can you please take it back. He did so and still charged us for it. The entree was even worse. I ordered the backed chicken which the waiter said was one of the best dinners on the menu so I went with his recommendation. It was dry. I was over that place then. I’ll never be back. I can’t believe this place is 4 Star! It sucks! I’d give it -100 stars if I could. Worst place ever!!! Don’t go. Stay away.
3 of 4 diners at our table were underwhelmed with the quality of the food. The wait staff was disorganized.
Brunch was amazing. The schnitzel sammy was so good. Service great and the sour beers were good.
We arrived on Friday night and it was packed. I made online reservations but when I got there I was told I would have to wait 10 minutes to be seated and I made it clear that I didn't think I was going to have to wait because that's the whole point of making reservations. Luckily as I kept protesting, one of the other hosts stepped up and got us a table right away. Our waitress was great. Cool and collected amidst the chaos which didn't seem to even phase her. Food showed up on time hot and delicious. I have to accommodate a lot of needs when choosing a restaurant, to suit all members of my family - ambience, vegetarianism, kid friendly. Madfox is consistently good with food and service and accommodating our little one. Everyone is courteous and professional. This is a great place to take your kids but still have good beer and food. I don't feel like I'm compromising on anything when I go there. I would just recommend that they add a couple more vegetarian options. A lot of restaurants think that vegetable sides are acceptable, but most vegetarians want a real meal.
Attended for Mother’s Day brunch. The buffet had some great items that the whole family enjoyed; however, they were a bit slow to restock empty trays. We will go back again and try the regular menu.
Buffet style for Mother’s Day
The Sunday brunch was a mess.
Many of the items were out during our visit, restocked only intermittently. This resulted in surges to the line as customers realized the guacamole, eggs Benedict, shrimp, etc were present, so they could stock up for the entire table - or let the servers take the excess food away with the dirty plates.
The difficulty of keeping things stocked included not just individual food items, but also plates and spoons (forks and knives are at the table).
Overall the food was pretty good, although often cold, since keeping the Sterno stocked and lit was also a problem.
We were booked for 12:45 on Mother’s Day. By the time we arrived, a number of the trays with brunch choices were empty and not being refilled. It seems to me that with customers making reservations and the restaurant aware of the number of people who will be coming for brunch, a restaurant should provide the choices that are listed on the menu even if the diners are arriving after noon.
I made reservations for Mother's Day for my wife and toddler son. While the buffet did look appealing on paper, we were more interested in the regular menu. However, nowhere on their website did the restaurant say that the regular menu would not be offered on Mother's Day. So we ended up in a situation, after being seated, finding out that we could either pay $28/person for a buffet neither of us really wanted, or leave. When I explained to the waitress that the restaurant never listed this anywhere on their website, instead of apologizing, she tried to explain to me that "they tried to do that one year and you could just imagine how insane that was," which was of course the last thing I wanted to hear in that moment. In the end, we decided to leave and attempt to find another brunch restaurant at noon on Mother's Day itself, which was an excruciating process. As we departed I also mentioned the website issue to the front desk individual/coordinator, to which he replied, "oh I'm sorry, have a nice day" as he barely looked up from his computer screen. I'll just say this--I guess I appreciate that the staff were _not_ unpleasant? But please, for the love of god, 1) put it on your website next time, especially on a day where every place in town is packed, and 2) train your staff to be a little more understanding and empathetic instead of just offering cursory, obviously-not-paying-attention comments. It was our first and last time attempting to dine at Mad Fox.
Went on a fixed price buffet day (unintentionally) so didn't get a explore the menu which is what brought me in. There always seemed to be a delay in refreshing the buffet with some items always out, but that's likely not an issue on regular days.
Disappointed I didn't know they were doing a buffet. It wasn't on the website. We picked the place based on the menu. We had overpriced store bought cold food. I was very sad that my Mother's Day was spent here. My kids liked the parfait and ham. That's the only good thing I can mention about this buffet
I booked a reservation for my family for Mother’s Day brunch at Mad Fox. They had an excellent buffet at a great value. For $28/person they had a huge all-you-can-eat buffet with a variety of breakfast foods (French toast, eggs, meat, bagels, etc.), lunch foods (pulled pork, salad, grilled veggies, etc.), and desserts. They also offered discounted mimosas and Bloody Marys. The service was phenomenal and the food was tasty. There was also plenty of room in the brewery so that space never became cramped and awkward. I know a brewery might not seem the most likely of places to book a Mother’s Day brunch, but I highly recommend Mad Fox. Thanks for a great meal!
Went there for my birthday and the food was just not up to the price. Service was slow and they ran out of calamari. Beer was decent, however.
I went to Mad Fox to meet up with friends. Easy to drive to the establishment. Accessible free parking. Awesome place for great beer and food.
We had a great server to increase the value of our experience with the great beer and great food.
