Very slow service. Restaurant was not even half full. Seated in back corner, not a great spot especially when making a reservation. Food was fine but took a long time to come out. Very casual kind of place. Left a lot to be desired.

With the menu's price point, I expected the portions to be bigger. The sushi also did not have a lot of flavor. The bento box with bluefin sashimi only came with four pieces. It was not filling

While this was not the first timing dining at Maneki, it is the first time that I noticed that they include a credit card charge after the payment is processed. The menu is good, fish is fresh. Either clearly add the transaction fee line as part of the bill or adjust your prices. Not a good look to openly charge your patrons a credit card processing fee when most (if any) do not do it.

Apparently a very popular and well loved business. Personally, I found it unenjoyable because of the noise level, the sushi I would rank five out of ten, but hey I’m a captain that knows what fresh is. For Sacramento the people seem to think it’s the best. A place for the younger crowd for sure.

Nothing was inherently terrible by any means, but the food was incredibly overpriced for being subpar at best. The service was very polite, but barely gave us a moment to review the large menu with the constant "Are you ready?"s. Also, I had to drip dry in the bathroom because there was no toilet paper and not even a toilet liner for me to use as substitute. I've had worse experiences, but it definitely didn't give me any reason to be a return customer.

The chef made anything and everything and we even got 5 appetizers to start off. They also brought out a bottle of sake for the table. I can't even name all of the dishes we had but there wasn't one that I didn't like! The omakase didn't just include nigiri either - we had a hand roll, a pasta dish, two sets of oysters, and takoyaki. There wasn't really a set number of courses, we just had to tell them when we were getting full then they gave us a couple more courses and ended with mango & matcha Japanese cheesecake for each person. Definitely worth $99! There is another similar priced omakase in Sacramento but I was not nearly as full with that one. And what other place can you do omakase while also having a kids menu for your child? Our son enjoyed his teriyaki chicken rice bowl and it was a generous portion. What really stood out to me was the service though. From my initial interaction over the phone to confirm reservation, to our server Bryce during our meal. He was so polite and it was the genuine kind of polite, not fake at all. He was so grateful when we gave him and another server our extra two hand rolls. He checked on us often without being too pushy, and he made the experience very personable. He was helpful and considerate when serving our dishes, aware of our kids and their tiny grabby hands, and super understanding! You can tell that he's just a really hard worker and great employee, so Maneki should be careful not to overwork him before they lose him!

Most amazing sushi in Sacramento- every time. We had fresh Santa Barbara uni that was truly world class. Smooth, silky and spectacular. Thank you Chef Will for making my brother’s birthday dinner one for the ages!!

Maneki has the potential to be a standout sushi restaurant, but falls short. They have some creative sounding dishes on their menu. Which I haven't tried. This was our second visit there as I wanted to give them at least two tries before deciding if their higher prices were worth it. Paying $21 for a sushi roll which only has avocado, imitation crab salad which is then topped with salmon, a small slice of lemon, a sauce which is then torched simply isn't worth that price. Especially when the rice is torched along with the sauce - leading to a slightly burned rice taste. Ordering appetizers such as Wakami salad should arrive before the sushi rolls. Additionally, the kitchen takes quite a while to make rolls - which was surprising as there were only 7 tables in use along with 5 folks at the bar when we dined. These small but necessary details hold Maneki from earning these higher prices they are asking for their rolls.

Try the Geoduck and the exotic specials! Delicious and very tasty. Our server was extremely informative and had eaten the various fish dishes we inquired about. Perfect experience. Only improvement to ambiance is smells. It smelled a little like fish and floor cleaner when we walked in. It was only by the door and they may have just opened for dinner or mopped. I’m ridiculously sensitive to smells. It distracted me a little on the start but by the time the food came it was all about what was on the plate. I will be coming back.

The food was great and fresh. It is pricey but it is a nice spot to go on a date night but not a place to go as my go to sushi place. The service was okay - there was not a lot of people there but it felt it was a little slow in terms of getting to our table and taking our order.

Good food, service was ok, cleaning needs to be improved. Teach staff to take time when they clean. Our Table was dirty when we got seated and I needed to clean my seat from previous customers.

Really liked the music and the server was nice and friendly! But the utensils and plates were not though very well. We reserved the table for 4, only 3 were able to make it, but the table had 2 chop sticks. Even when the food was brought, we had to ask separately for utensils. It is very cold inside which makes it uncomfortable to seat. The prices are a little higher than other sushi places, especially the rolls but the taste is very average. Overall nice experience but next time will look into other places.

Made a reservation, got a great booth. Rose was our server, I don’t know if we can request her next time but I’m going to ask! Food was delicious and came out in a timely manner. Overall great experience. We will be back.

I enjoyed my lunch there 2 weeks ago more than Sat night. We were not in a hurry, but the service was slow. I asked for a fork and spoon for my granddaughter, the waitress forgot to bring it, Her grandpa got up to get them. Also, put a lot of ice in the glass of ice tea. Ice tea should be cold.

The prices… wow, insane. The food was just very mediocre suburb level sushi. A chirashi bowl, in higher end sushi places are usually at most $30-35. Maneki charged $37… Nothing special about this place that would justify that extra high price.

It was alright. Waiter seemed confused about basic sushi orders and the service was super slow. It took a very long time to get the complete order for 4 people. Not sure we will return.

Our server was fantastic but food takes a long time to make. More than 40 minutes for one of the gals at our table. The bento boxes came first maybe 10-15 mins. But our poor friend had to wait. Our 2nd time here. I thought the first time was long also but gave them another try. Might come again but not our first choice. Food was yummy. Sometimes not worth waiting. Kids get hungry and grumpy while waiting.

Food was amazing. We sat in font of Chef Justin, he was super knowledgeable on all the menus items. We got the giants roll and golden gate along with a variety of sashimi. Fish quality and service over all was a 10/10!

Disappointed by the menu options, particularly the types of rolls available. Just not to my preferences. Poor coordination between the kitchen / sushi bar and the servers. The quality of the sushi was good but not sure to the premium prices. Doubtful I will return if they don’t make significant changes to their service levels and menu.

We went to Maneki for dinner Saturday night; thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Taylor was our server and she was outstanding! She answered all of our (my) questions, was knowledgeable about the menu items and made some great suggestions. We had the BBQ Salmon appetizer, Hamachi Kama (outstanding), 49 roll and Giants Roll (+jalapeño) and Hamachi Sakana. We didn’t see any avocado in our roll and when we mentioned it, the bill was promptly discounted with no argument in spite of the fact we said it was unnecessary. A wonderful experience, we will be back and will definitely request Taylor as our server.

Sooo many issues this time. One positive: getting food was pretty quick. The negatives: asked if we wanted to start with an appetizer. We ordered edamame. Never received. Once our dinners arrived, I told her to cancel. We ordered 4 bento boxes, cause we like to be different. Bento boxes come with soup. Never received. I ordered teriyaki salmon, it had no sauce, I just got some broiled piece of fish. No flavoring, no seasoning and no sauce. Had to ask for teriyaki sauce. Tempura came with nothing, tempura alone is quite boring. Had to ask for sauce. Food good. Everything else is a dumpster fire. This was my second time here, I came here cause my daughter wanted to go again cause she likes the ambience. Unfortunately today, after this horrid experience , we will only come here if the building is a different restaurant with hopefully different owners. This place s*cks. They did give us $10 gift card and a $10 discount on the bill. This place is so ridiculously priced, I felt more insulted, than appreciative.
