Manhattan Beach Post
The drinks were a bit overpriced, but everything else was AMAZING! The food rocked my world. Definitely recommended!
The place aims for high level but fall short in service, quality of food and general ambience.
The food was great as always and the service was exemplary
MB Post is one of my go tos for brunch and dinner! We loved the new kale salad and the scallops.
Food is amazing, but we’ve never had worse service anywhere. Four hour dinner that should have taken two. Our waitress forgot about us twice where we were left for literally an hour with empty wine glasses and plates.
Again we absolutely love the food at Post but don’t know if we’ll return unless it’s take out after that awful experience.
Too loud for lunch. I went there for a business meeting, and we could barely hear each other.
A very nice change from the silly sized portions you often see in the USA. The food is very good.
This is my “Go To” spot in Manhattan Beach. Whenever I have some extra time before a flight out of LAX, this is where I go. They have an amazing bourbon selection and experienced bar staff.
On this occasion the hostess was particularly attentive and helped me out after my original reservation didn’t fit with what I was looking for.
The food is always excellent and the atmosphere is fantastic. If you haven’t tried Post out yet, be sure that you do. Great spot!
The staff is attentive and very courteous, with special note to the front end for being engagement and personable on the phone, an experience that you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. We came to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and our server ensured we had a champagne toast and a dessert with a candle, this was unprompted, but very appreciated. The food was excellent, plated well and served in a timely manner. I would encourage anyone to eat here, it’s a great experience that isn’t too hard on the wallet.
Here is why this is not a 5 star experience. Food is served “family style”, which means everything is essentially a la cart, so everything has its own plate for sharing, I think it is worth saying that I like this approach. The issue comes in the fact that most tables are set for two and are VERY close together in proximity to those around you. So there is no romance for a date, no privacy from a conversation and because of the family style, where everything has a plate plus plates for sharing, your very small space gets very crowded, very quickly. If you are a party of two, ask for a table that seats four, you’ll thank me when sharing and ordering is easy. Granted the staff is attentive, that moment when 2 entrees, and a side come out and your appetizers are still on the table, it gets uncomfortable. I had elbows in my face several times for the table next to us. Truthfully, I would pay more for more space to enjoy the meal, the atmosphere and the excellent service.
Bottom line, this place is worth eating at, the menu changes daily which keeps it fresh for the cooks and us patrons as well. Come here ready to spend money, but you will feel good about doing it. Order a lot of items, try the cheese plates, order wine, get dessert and share it all with those you care about, you’ll enjoy it.
Waitress was very patient with one of our high maintenance guests. Much appreciated.
we sat outside while eating and watched a gorgeous sunset over the pacific. The food was so excellent I wanted to lick my plate. I highly recommend this restaurant.
This was my first time at MB Post and I've gone with my boyfriend. We've made a reservation for 7:30PM on a Sunday night, which is a prime time for dinner. It was pretty busy, as expected, but they've consistently updated us and got us seated as soon as possible. The ambiance is a smart-casual dining style with upbeat music, and so a quiet-romantic dinner wouldn't be suitable for here. As someone who's lived in New York City for 20+ years and loves casual dining style, this was exactly the vibe that I was looking for! The food was also executed well: my date and I enjoyed the biscuits, gnocchi, fries, and rib-eye steak (yep, mostly carbs) and they were all splendid and delicious. My favourite out of the four had to be the gnocchi! It's so soft and smooth .. melts right in your mouth without having the crab meat overpower the dish. It was his first time at this type of restaurant, and I'm so glad he got to experience it. Thank you to our server (ugh I wish I remembered her name!) for recommending a great wine pairing for our meal. Will definitely come back!
Great food but pricey
This was a fabulous meal. The dishes had the best quality ingredients, the presentation lovely, and of course they tasted great!
Love this restaurant. One of our favorites in all of greater Los Angeles area.
This meal started off great with their delicious bacon cheddar biscuits, but everything else we ordered (gnocchi, mussels, green beans) was way too salty.
Love the atmosphere and enjoyed the menu! Missed the Brussels Sprouts on menu but ate the asparagus that was great. Brought some younger family members that enjoyed the skirt steak but was a bit adventurous for their tastes. Would recommend for adults and a group to share many of the items.
Music is way too loud. Very noticeable that people were struggling to hear each other. Boarderline painful.
I was in town with my family on an overnight layover and made a reservation here based on a friend's recommendation. Our group tried around eight dishes, and everything was fantastic. Favorites included the cheddar-bacon biscuits, the fruit plate and the pork shoulder pozole. Service was perfect - friendly and casual. I will return the next time I'm in the LA area!
The food, waitress, and service were simply amazing. My husband and I will definitely return to eat at the Manhattan Beach Post!
Wonderful food and service. Stephen was our server and his timing and attentiveness was excellent. We had: biscuits, uni spaghetti, chicken pot pie, rib eye and skirt steak. Each element was flavorful and original. We loved it. The only thing we would change was the sound level. Great music, but it was hard to carry a conversation. Great dining experience, and we will definitely be back.
The service, food, and wine were all great! But the music was way too loud and a really bad playlist. Alanis Morrisette was playing when we first got there and Blink 182 came on when we left.
Great!!! Very very good.
Never disappoints! Always try the hand crafted cocktails and the biscuits. Meals are served to share.
The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and we had a fantastic time! The only complaint I have is that the music is so loud you can barely hear each other talk.
Disappointing and overrated. The medium charcuterie plate we got to share was $45, way more than any entree on the menu. And it was not even tasty or laden with meats and cheeses. Also, the music in the restaurant is loud and awful. Weird mix of 90s R&B and Rock.
We were met at the door with a beautiful smile coupled with a warm greeting and all kept going from there. Service-yep, food and wine suggestions-spot on, overall feel-great, but the most important is food- of course it was awesome too. Good job and please keep it going as we will return on our next trip out west.
Great food, service, environment and decor! Especially for brunch.
We had Sunday brunch and the food was delicious. We started with bacon cheddar biscuits... they were so delicious ! The spicy bloody mary's were also very good. We then ordered the eggs benedict, corned beef hash, and our very favorites were the breakfast chimichanga and skirt steak w/ sunny side up egg. We were then treated to a mixed fruit dish and bread pudding which was amazing ! Our whole excellent experience was due to our server, Angela. She made our brunch extra special with her quick & friendly service along with all her knowledge of all the various dishes ... and always with a smile on her face. Thank you Angela ! We will be back to try the other dishes !
Great food and EXCELLENT service!
Went for brunch with friends. Had to have the biscuits, always great. Our friends weren’t to adventurous and had the cheesey eggs which they liked. I had the breakfast chimi which was great. Just right portion (not huge) and great flavor with a green tomatillo sauce. My wife had the hash which was sinfully great. My only complaint would be the house speakers which had a very tinny high end which made it harder to hear.
Incredible farm to table type food. Great, friendly staff.
Despite its looks the MB post has a very refined menu. The servers are lovely and the food is always wonderful. Highly highly recommend.
Good vibe with great variety in food choices for small plates. cocktails were intriguing and delicious, Excellent near the beach food for foodies.
Out server first of all was terrible!! Never quality checked the food our fresh drinks would sit at the bar for 10 minutes + while our food got cold while we waited for our wine to enjoy our meals- which we didn’t enjoy at all!
So dissatisfying we ordered quite a few things but the most disappointing was the ribeye which was undercooked and so incredibly fatty it was near impossible to find a decent bite. Of course our server never quality checked the food so we ate our cold steak with our over priced sides and left $200 meal for 2 it was less than underwhelming
This place has great tapas/family style dining. Great location and the service was very friendly and knowledgable.
Manhattan Beach Post has a great vibe, great food, and good drinks. It's a good special occasion spot for sure.
Food was overall great. Biscuits were perfectly seasoned. And the charcuterie board was to die for!
The scallops were perfectly cooked but a bit drowned out by the pork belly.
Having limited time at our table was a surprise to me. Getting kicked out by the waitress and basically yelled at for not leaving as we were willing to buy more food and drinks was unacceptable. That was messed up. After I signed the check and provided a tip was when we were shamed. Despite giving her a 25 percent tip, she should not have received a penny for her service. Please feel free to call me to discuss further.
Always good times at MB Post. Excellent service and delicious food.
