Mastro's Ocean Club - Boston
It felt MAFIOSO.... despite a lovely dinner and great wine.
Seafood tower was unbelievably awesome !
Lobster bisque was unbelievably awesome !
Service staff was more than accommodating and friendly and concerned.
The fish was bad and we sent it back - that’s very rare for us.
Outstanding food and service. Ambiance was more lively, energetic, and fun than other high-end steakhouses.
We had reservations Saturday night at 7;30pm we were 10 minutes late but got seated right away. The restaurant was packed and the noise level very high on top of the entertaining music, very hard to talk in a table for 4 but the atmosphere was very energetic.
Two of us had oysters, a tuna tartar and the octupus carpacio, they were all very good. For entree two had Filet Mignon, a Seabass, and a Tuna and again they were all delicious with the side dishes.
It was our anniversary so we complimented that with profiterols for dessert, the drinks and wine were also good and on time.
Our server YennieP was very attentive, courteous and friendly and made our experience memorable. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to other people, but when you go don't look at the prices it's expensive but great.
The food was amazing and the service was top notch! We will definitely be back!
Fabulous food & location (we sat outside with a spectacular view of the harbor).
Our waiter Anthony was exceptional. Definitely recommend!
The only downside to this venue is the traffic hassle getting in & out of the seaport district.
We really enjoyed our food. Some of the portions are small for the price which should be expected. I’d go again but would probably not splurge on the lobster mashed or adding bacon to the Brussels sprouts due to the price.
We had our anniversary dinner here and it was amazing. Marc was one of, if not the best, server we ever had...and the food was good, too. 😀
Always amazing food! Great service! Way better than comparable steakhouses in the area!
My family and I had a wonderful experience at Mastro’s. The service was top tier and the food is truly excellent. Best steakhouse in Boston.
We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. Our waiter, Mark, couldn’t have been anymore helpful and congenial. We will definitely return.
Extremely loud but great service . Great for celebrating with groups
Excellent service and food. Espresso martini was perfect.
Great experience, we’ll be back!
We celebrated our daughter’s high school graduation at Mastro’s and the service was AMAZING, the food was incredible and the views gorgeous. Highly recommend!
My girlfriend and I visited Mastro’s last night for our sixth anniversary. Atmosphere and decor are beautiful. Service was absolutely perfect. From the time we entered until the moment we left every front of house staff member was attentive, warm, and knowledgeable. The crab truffle gnocchi was incredible. My girlfriends Aspen Ridge NY strip was unevenly cooked, perfectly cooked on one side and overcooked on another. I ordered my Aspen Ridge Ribeye medium rare, it came out medium. I don’t normally send food back but because its a prime cut of beef, an expensive one at that, i had to. The refired steak came out rare. It wasnt the med rare i ordered but I can do rare steak. So instead of sending it back and having to wait while our other steak was already delivered to the table about 10 min before that, I ate the rare steak. Kudos to the amazing wait staff and hostesses.
We had a great meal with a great server which was most important. I believe her name was Chloe. The only thing I didn’t like was we didn’t have a good table and I had called and requested a round table with a good view and although they couldn’t guarantee it we wound up with a rectangular table with 2 people facing the water, one person facing a wall and the other side of 3 facing the service door to the kitchen and then one on the end sticking out into walkway. Not good. It was a very special occasion. Very loud inside but we had a lot of fun. Great martinis!
My wife and I had a great time! Our waiter (Jason) was amazing !
Great food and great staff! Super attentive, probably one of the most upscale spots in Boston
Great setting. Food was good but not outstanding. Service was mixed and some dishes were served cold. Expensive for the overall quality service mix.
The service and our waiter was excellent.
The food was excellent and the restaurant was beautiful. However, The noise level and the pace of all the waiters carrying heavy trays over your head was extremely distracting and it was difficult to have a conversation.
I felt we were there just to eat and not for a fine dining experience. For the cost of dinner I expected the whole experience.
Excellent food and tremendous service from a knowledgeable waitstaff.
Have been to other mastros locations before and was looking forward to a nice anniversary night. Upon arriving was greeted by the 20 dollar valet who had an attitude..reservation was ready..sat down and waited a fair amount of time before our waters were brought out. Had to ask twice for lemons. Ordered filet and "lobster tail" special. Filet was over cooked and cold as if it was sitting. Lobster was not a tail but pieces of lobster that were obviously cooked earlier and microwaved in butter before serving. Would expect much more from a high end restaurant. Sides were also barely warm as if they were sitting. I dont send things back at restaurants as I've heard horror stories so I dealt with it. Butter cake was very good though. Overall very disappointed. Not on par with the other mastros locations. For a 300 dollar dinner for two I could do much better for far less.
We saw our server 5 times in 2 hours. It took 20 minutes to place our drink order. The food was not very good for the price. Spend your money elsewhere. Of all of the places I’ve eaten and dropped some cash on in my life, this was the biggest mistake
Staff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The view was unmatchable. Unfortunately, it was loud. Live entertainment was very good, but loud. We were a table of five, two of the five were impressed with their meals. The other three felt it was adequate, but not impressed. One meal was sent back to be cooked to proper temperature, and then taken off the bill (very generous) and we were given a very large, complimentary dessert for a birthday guest.
We were there on a Wednesday, so maybe the top chef was not in. I'd give it another try!
very good place nice food ! I would recommend to a friend
Loud, server sucked, food was overcooked Server treated us as we if we've never been to a good restaurant before she was cold and then it was not get friendlie I would not recommend I would never recommend this to a friend
Great service and amazing food, perfect Mothers Day dinner
We usually go to del friscos as main steak restaurant but decided to try. Seafood appetizers were excellent - shrimp, lobster, crab. Solid bread basket if not better bread basket. Salad (chopped) was not as good. Steaks equal but we had to send back bc over cooked but they got it right. The real fail was the sides. The Brussels sprouts not good and we got the crab gnoochi ($34) but it was really bad - no taste profile mushy flavorless cheese no trace of crab. Our server was excellent. She really was great as we have two very energetic (under 5) kids. However an not exactly an easy customer to handle.
I did note in reservation that it was a special occasion (sons fifth bday) but nothing special done. Del friscos has almost times given a free desert but this is not expected.
Overall, I would go back just to mix it up vs. going to del friscos. But bc sides I would say del friscos better value and experience for most occasions. That said, second best place for steak and seafood in Boston for our family and surprised family friendly.
Fantastic food. Couldn't wait for Mastro's to come to Boston. Been to the Chicago location on 4 occasions. We had a party of 8 and all were very happy, not to mention impressed. Of all the high end restaurants I've been to in Boston and surrounding area, Mastro's knocks them out of the park. If you think your worth it, check em out. You won't be disappointed.
Allways amazing delicious and fun, we love the entire staff
All I can say is 10 thumbs up 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Food was incredible but we didn’t sit down till 9:10 for an 8:30 reservation. We left the restaurant at 10:50pm for an 8:30 slot.
Food quality value to Pricing does not make sense. Quality of the food was equal to Texas Roadhouse
Amazing and accommodating as always! Food is spectacular and service is 2nd to none. My favorite restaurant in Boston
Best birthday dinner EVER. Let’s face it, the location is perfect with gorgeous views of the harbor. The bar area is large and has live music that’s enjoyable without being too loud. But the main event, dinner in the dining room, was fantastic. Our waiter, Mark, was the best waiter we’ve ever had. Not only were his recommendations and service spot on, he has the most engaging personality. He really pushed our evening over the top. Food was perfectly prepared, and in our picky group, their were NO complaints, which is unusual. There’s no two ways about it, Matro’s Is expensive. Be prepared to shell out a little extra for a special night. We’ll be going back and requesting that we be seated in Mark’s section.
Great food and service. A little loud to be honest. When the band was playing it seemed loud and when they were not the music was blaring. My only criticism.
Muy buen lugar, extraordinaria comida, un poco caro
Greatest Steaks in town!
