We went for brunch to celebrate my little brother’s engagement and it was amazing! Spicy bloody Mary’s, excellent chicken and waffles, and the sausage gravy over tots were phenomenal.
First time at Max’s! Great food and friendly staff. Definitely looking forward to returning soon!
The food and portions are always good. I appreciate the "varsity" shakes as well.
We had a table by the window which made it fun. Excellent food. Fun atmosphere.
Great spot for Sunday brunch, lovely staff, hostess and owner!
When looking for a place to eat brunch, we found Max's and viewed the menu online. Everything sounded delicious, so we decided to make a reservation. There was one item I really wanted to try, but it wasn't on the physical menu anymore. I asked about it and the server said she would ask the kitchen and see if they had all the ingredients to make it. They did and it was everything I hoped for! My entire party cleaned our plates, the bloody mary was delicious and the staff was really friendly. Would definitely recommend!
Wait staff was charming. Everyone greeted us warmly. Food was excellent. Will be a repeat customer for sure.
Great food! Staff very friendly and accommodating. Keep hosting trivia.
Food and drinks were stellar, and our server was fantastic. First timer! Will definitely be back!
Friendly staff, interesting menu with vegetarian options, delicious meal! Will definitely eat here again next time I am in Lancaster.
Awesome place, great food! As a vegetarian who enjoys going to Philadelphia for all the hip vegetarian friendly restaurants , it's nice to see a local Lancaster place that has that Philly vibe. Although not a ton of vegetarian options, the veggie burger is amazing and not your typical burger. Can't wait to go back!
Excellent as always.
Christina U is a magical mermaid with unparalleled serving abilities 🧜♀️ ✨
The food was excellent at very good prices. All drinks, including the “varsity” milkshakes were also a very good value and enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised!
The food was delicious, the service was friendly, the decor was spot on. There is no other place for brunch in Lancaster I would rather go. Although we were headed to an event that required sobriety, there is a full bar, which concocts the most delicious adult beverages.
Enjoyed the chicken and waffles. My sister had the special for the night that the server recommended and she was really happy she ordered the pork chop on mashed yams with kale.
Great place. Good food and choices. Great service and cool vibe.
We tried Max's but probably would not return. Service was very bad as in slow, wrong food, wrong check and no attention given at all. They seemed busy and confused so it could have been short staffed. Drinks arrived so late that they said they would take it off the check but it remained on the check. We gave up, paid and go out of there. Food was just okay.
Service, food, and space were all amazing. We’ll definitely be back!
Four senior women had great lunches brfore the Fulton show. Waitor was helpful explaining the menu. We even had the twisted ice cream dessert. Will definitely be back!!
Food choices better for breakfast/lunch. Service a bit slow this time.
Food was all extremely greasy and didn’t taste good
Delicious food, with wait service by an absolutely delightful waiter. Yummy Italian soda, chicken pot pie with a slice of puff pastry, and carrot cake to die for!!! Max’s is an upscale diner - I will go there again.
Had a great seat at the window! Very attentive and interested waitress. Answered and explained whatever questions we had. All the employees seemed happy to be there! Food and milkshakes were very delicious. Would definitely go again.
At first staff seemed disorganized, a table of 6 showed up and disrupted their process. We were seated after waiting for the 6 to sit. We set at a window 2 and was greeted by waitress. Drinks are expensive and staff not educated in tap selections. I redered the special fish and chips and wifey ordered a burger. Burger showed up, nearly raw....wanted medium, fish showed up, no chips..overall disappointed. The menu is too simple for mistakes. Being in the foodservice ind. for over 20 years, the experience could have been a lot better for a $45 diner date.
Food was amazing. Server was new but very attentive and friendly.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent!
We loved Max's Eatery. We went for breakfast. Our server was great but the kitchen was very slow...we wait 45 min for our food. But, we will try it again!
Great food and atmosphere! I would suggest adding more items to the menu - maybe some additional omelet choices and pancakes options. Love that the menu has breakfast options 24 hours a day!
Birthday celebration was amazing. We had burgers, frito pie and cow on a raft. YUMMO!
Great food! Love the trivia Tuesdays! Making a reservation on Open Table very easy.
I love Max’s!! I took a friend for the first time so she could experience the greatness. Put food was amazing and our shakes were awesome! Next I’m brining my husband
We discovered Max's because of Tuesday Trivia. We have followed Matt for over 3 years to different venues. Max's is kid friendly (my 2 grandchildren love the food), the staff remembers our usual orders, and when our team expands to 8 people, everyone accommodates the change without missing a beat. Brendan, David and Megan have been our servers, and they are awesome! We are now regular Tuesday patrons.
Nice place for Sunday morning breakfast! We all enjoyed our selections. Specials were a bit pricey, but awesome!
We all loved the smash burger and adult milk shakes!!
We selected Max's on the net, we like non-chain/ local eateries and travel to Lancaster 1x a year; couldn't been more satisfied!!! Great Friendly Staff! Food was excellent, speaking for the other 5 in our group! My Por Boy sandwich was a little light on the protein, although the sandwich was Excellent. The Donkey / OJ drink was Superb.
I like the menu at Max's for breakfast or dinner. Service was a little inconsistent, but other than that, it was another great experience.
Dinner at Max's Eatery was a mixed bag. The waitperson was very courteous, but he was run off his feet, servicing too many tables. He brought our food promptly, but he forgot one of our drinks, and it took a while for that to be corrected. The food was, as usual, really tasty--diner style but with much better ingredients that you usually see in Lancaster County diners. It turned out to be Trivia Night, though, and there was a loud (yet unintelligible) presentation of trivia questions going on for most of the time we were in the restaurant. Max's is very child-friendly, which also meant that there was a certain loudness around us that wasn't the usual hipsters drinking alcoholic milkshakes--even though we did not begin our dinner until after 7 p.m. I do recommend Max's Eatery for its delicious menu (including a number of vegetarian and vegan options), but be prepared for higher decibels and families with young children.
Great food. Super nice service. Will definitely go back!!
Food is okay. Service was a little off.
