   I didn't care for how close other tables were, and the kitchen made a mistake with my partners meal. They did redo it, but we didn't get to eat together, and no offer other than an apology was made. He was told that it would take 7 minutes to rectify, but it actually took quite a bit longer. Not terrible, just not ideal, and it would have been courteous if they offered a small discount due to the mistake/inconvenience.

   The tomahawk steak was fantastic. So was the pasta. It is my first time tasting tuna tartare with apple, the experience is interesting but not my type of dish.

   Amazing food and service. Adrian was knowledgeable and attentive. Variety of menu options was good. My husband ordered the duck-which he said was delicious. I had the roasted half chicken and broccoli with lemon breadcrumbs. Huge portion and the salsa verde (which was really a gremolata) was outstanding and lended the dish a nice freshness. Crisp perfectly dressed Caesar salads. The Parker house rolls were outstanding-black currant jam with salted butter was perfection. My one son ordered the cheese toast appetizer-the caramelized onion and pulled pork were hearty and delicious. He also loved the rich Mac and cheese and steak frites(big eater!). My other son ordered the rigatoni vodka, he liked the spiciness from the Calabrian chiles. We ordered 2 pots de crème which ended the meal on a delicious note. My only complaint was our seating-right by door, it was cold and when you spend $400 for a nice meal I expect to not freeze.

    It was our first time going to Meat & Potatoes and it was definitely worth the wait. Everything from our cocktails to our desserts were excellent. We started our meal with the Parkerhouse rolls and the Brussels sprouts (which usually are served as a side but they were more than happy to bring us them for an appetizer instead.) The Brussels sprouts were SO crispy and well-balanced with the lemon aioli that accompanies them. For dinner, we ordered the Beef Wellington, which was cooked to perfection. Of note, let your server know you want the Beef Wellington when you are seated since it does take an hour to prepare but it is absolutely worth the wait. For dessert, we enjoyed a light, coconut cake. They have numerous cocktail options in addition to an extensive wine list for pairing with your meal. We will definitely be returning. It was a wonderful experience.

    This was our second visit to Meat and Potatoes, being from out of town. We enjoyed it again. They were out of the duck so I (along with my son) got the pork chop and it was delicious. Moist tasty, nice portion. It came with collard greens and beans, both tasty -- but could use some adjustments. Not enough beans (they were essentially lost in the collards) and the collard were soggy and listless; i think because they were placed under the pork. The Welsh rarebit starter was adequate; it gave my son the chance to taste something new and me the chance to remember having it many times before. I had two glasses of Malbec , which were outstanding. Service was perfect. This is a very nice place and I hope to come back soon.

    We just moved to Pittsburgh and I found this spot. My husband and I loved the food, service, ambiance. The whole experience was great. Our server Bee was super nice! We also spoke to another girl, who I unfortunately do not have the name but she was very nice too. We will definitely back!

    The menu was very similar to the old "pre-pandemic" menu, which I was disappointed with. But the food is still good. The wines by the glass list was very small and the Pinot seemed to be oxidized.

    Our reservation was for 730 but we weren’t sat until around 745. Im not going to complain too much about that because it seemed like a busy night and the manager sat us at 4 bar stools for drinks before dinner. When we were sat at our table, we order 3 appetizers which were all very good. Our waitress offered to someone in our party another drink which was accepted but then forgot about it. Someone else brought it over and she showed up with another beer a short time later. Dinner turned out to be good for some but not all. One person in our party ended up with salmon that was WAY under cooked and raw/cold in the middle. The manager very quickly brought out another piece and it was cooked perfectly. He advised he would “take care of it.” My salmon was delicious and cooked perfectly. The chicken entree in our group was way over salted. We couldn’t figure out if it was the brine or what but it was over salted. The member of our party who was eating it got about 4 bites in and couldn’t eat anymore. Instead of the waitress asking if something was wrong, she asked her if she needed a box which was declined. The other person in our party had the pub burger and it was very good. Then our waitress forgot a martini we ordered and it came out halfway through eating our entrees instead of before. After getting the bill, we noticed they didn’t comp anything for our troubles. I’m OK with that but the manager should not have said he would take care of it.

    Meat & Potatoes was recommended to me by a friend. I posted on social media that I was seeing a show with my daughter at The Benedum in Pittsburgh and wanted to eat somewhere close by. It’s literally just down the street and the theater is visible from the restaurant. Our experience was great. The service, ambience and food was perfect. I would definitely recommend and return. I asked the restaurant to contact me if my reservation could be earlier and they did. Great Service!

    My friends and I shared the Beef Wellington (for 2). It was fantastic! Other food and service were fantastic. We did not feel rushed at all.

    Muscles in coconut curry was average. Bone marrow was wonderful. Duck breast entre was room temp, protein and side. Beef Wellington was cooked well, but bland to taste. Service was a bit waspish. We would not recommend this place to anyone we know.

    It was ….meh. For being a “Pittsburgh favorite” I’ve had much better for way way way less in this city. If you’re a two top you might as well be sitting on the peoples laps next to you. we were so close to the next table I got elbowed in the head while the server was delivering their food. We got steak and potatoes, hence the name, and it was fine. Not a meal I’ll ever think about after finishing. The appetizers were also meh. Only Two cab sauv options both from california for a steak dinner. Idk. The server was socially awkward and the table next to us was eavesdropping on our convo so hard but what else are you going to do when you’re on top of each other ?

    Everything was on point from service, to cocktails by Michael and Riley, to the hosts. Out of Bone Marrow, which kinda broke my heart a little bit, but we got the mussels instead and they were amazing.

    Meat and Potatoes never disappoints! From their unique dishes (looking at you coconut curry mussels) to making the classics perfectly (looking at you mashed potatoes), I would eat that meal again and again! I also ordered the duck breast - juicy and delicious!

    We had fabulous service, and loved the ambiance. However, the meals were over priced. My wedge salad was very good, but also not a "wedge" In general, servings are on the smaller side. A big plus were great drinks--and very close to the Benedum and Heinz!

    The restaurant is cute and felt cozy and inviting. The food was ok but nothing special. There were four of us in our party and none of us loved our meal, we all agreed it was just ok. Our waitress was rude and pretentious. It may be another 5 years before we try it again.

    I felt that our meal was overpriced to be honest. For 2 people, water, one app and 2 entrées was 175$ including a 20% tip. There should a valet service also. We had to park 4 blocks away because all the garages close required a pre paid ticket or lease.
