Meatmaiden is one hell of a steakhouse. Bringing you the best barbecue and grill in Melbourne, our large and energetic basement restaurant and bar and down-to-earth staff make us the perfect CBD venue for intimate dinners, work lunches, special occasions or functions.

We're part steakhouse, part smokehouse - with a unique and eclectic mix of premium steaks and smoked meats.     We booked our table pretty late as we were coming back straight from a musical. Meat maiden was really accomodating and were happy to still take us. We got the rib eye dry aged steak which was definitely the star of the show, as well as the bone marrow starter.

    Super tasty, great vibe might be a bit too loud if you want a more intimate setting. Portions were massive on the tasting menu, was begging for no more food by the end of it.

    Food was fantastic but staff seemed to look down on us, clearly serving other tables around us and tending to them more frequently. We got we're told our table was needed for another booking after only being seated for an hour an 10 minutes (we made the reservation a month in advance so it's not like it was short notice) Coupled with the slow service, we hadn't even finished our meal by the time we were asked to leave. Poor service overall and will not be returning or recommending this place purely based on how the servers seem to pick and choose how they service.

    Went to dinner as a group of 4, got many plates to share, everything was delicious and had generous portions. The highlight was 100% the cauliflower and burnt ends The staff were so attentive and friendly. The music in my opinion was far too loud so we had to yell over other diners just to hear each other. Overall a great experience.

    Master class service from the waitering team Food was absolutely delicious - the sides were even better but overall would Def come back!! Shout out to the waiter 'Simon' who served my misses and I - he went above and beyond with his service. Very much appreciated

    Took my family here and everybody agreed it was fantastic. The steak tartare and octopus entrees were delicious. My son and I had the scotch fillet ,while my wife and daughter shared the pork dish, we had four sides ,all lovely. The desserts were delightful and rounded off a very enjoyable night. The service is attentive and looked after all our needs. Prices are what you would expect to pay at a nice restaurant these days.

    Meatmaiden made an effort to seat us in a good part of the restaurant where we could hear each other and we weren't rushed out of the restaurant which I really appreciated. When the steaks arrived though they were a bit cold but the sides were good sizes and the wine selection was great.

    I had the most wonderful dinner last week for my birthday at MeatMiaden. The food and ambience was exceptional. Thus, I wanted to bring my dear friends there last night as i had been bragging about the restaurant all week. Fast forward to last night and it was far from anything that I could be happy with. The steaks were over cooked, taking over 30 minutes to arrive and were extremely dry and not salted. When I am paying 88 dollars for a steak, I would expect it to be exceptional. I was highly disappointed. Our waitress was far from good making many mistakes throughout the night and trying to give us sparkling water to charge us for it without us realising. Let me tell you, I saw straight through her. She also tried to give us two desserts after our meal saying they were on the house and then tried to make us pay for them when we left. There was so consistency and I will not be back here. Really disappointing Meat miaden. There was no consistency and for the final bill of over 600 dollars, it was definitely was not worth the price. Something needs to improve or change.

    Very lively restaurant with excellent food. We had a party of four for a birthday dinner. Highly recommend getting a booth .. so much fun .. loved the kingfish, croquettes and scallops and our main course steaks to share were outstanding. Of course we also had the delicious lobster Mac n cheese as a side.. Service was great, friendly and knowledgeable even though it was a very busy evening for them. Loved it

    Quality of steak was excellent. Wine is expensive as is the overall experience of Meatmaiden. Service was a bit too efficient & brisk. Overall a good experience thanks to the standard of the meat

    Food was fantastic meat was cooked to perfection. It was a really loud environment tho and waiters came across as a bit rude after we finished ordering. Menu was snatched out of hands and we were given the eftpos machine and expected to work it ourselves, the waiter then got frustrated at me when I couldn’t hear him over the noice and didn’t know what button to click to confirm the amount before paying. But other than that the food itself was really good.

    We loved our dining experience at MeatMaiden. The waiter was amazing with everyone's food intolerances and allergies: genuine connection, and timely manner with getting drinks refilled etc. The food was excellent. The bread with honey dipped in beef fat is something everyone needs to try! My favourite. We will be coming back for sure!

    Booked here for a birthday dinner on a Thursday night. The food and the cocktails were amazing and the service was great. Sophie, who was looking after our table was thorough, friendly and accommodating. The oyster and the steaks were a delight. Will definitely be back here again!

    We had an amazing time here for my partner’s birthday. The service was stunning and the waiters we had showed extensive knowledge about the specials and the menu. I haven’t been this impressed by a dining experience in a very long time. We will be back for this amazing experience as soon as we can!
