   Medium Rare is always fantastic. I love the way they bring the meal out in two parts to keep it hot. Everything is incredible, even the bread course.

   It’s a decent place to try. Do not go there if you’re hungry. The portions aren’t very large and the staff forgets a part of the menu. Not sure how you can forget to serve part of a menu that has four items on it. Compared to other tables mine was virtually forgotten. Food wasn’t bad just was not much of it. It was not busy and the staff was inattentive.

   Steak Frites is one of our favorite meals, so it was high time we visited this restaurant in the heart of Ballston. The salad was a bright start to the meal - we loved the dressing so much we bought extra pint to take home with us! The meal itself was very good and the service was attentive, but not overbearing. Tender steak, flavorful fries, delicious sauce - what more could you want from this place that executes this dish so well?! We ordered the chocolate cake; be sure to share, as it is a huge serving. Last, but not least, we would like to give a shout out to our server Jenny - she was awesome! We will be back!

   The food was good and, with the second serving, plentiful. The menu is "prix fixe" and includes bread and butter, a salad. The main course consisted of a cullote steak cooked to your desired wellness and french fries. There is a portebella mushroom option for vegetarians. Beverages, drinks, and desserts are extra. The steak was very good, flavorful and tender. The fries were okay but were not hot or crispy. Our reservation for 7 people was for 7:45 pm. We arrived on time but had to wait about 10 minutes for a table to be prepared (note that the restaurant was not full). We'd requested an indoor table. Unfortunately, the music was excessively loud (even though several in our party are hard of hearing) and the building design is naturally noisy. The management did turn the volume down upon our request, so thanks to them for that. Service was very good, other than the wait upon our arrival. A 20% tip, listed as "Dine-in" was included on the bill, with no apparent option to add more if desired (I felt our waitress deserved more.) Overall the restaurant and service was good and we'd go again, though we'd request outdoor seating.

    Went for Mothers Day and they were clearly not ready for the busy day. Service was terrible. Prices were very high considering the quality and quantity of the limited menu. Would not recommend for a place to celebrate important events.

    The only downside for the food was that the salad had too much dressing and for the ambience was that the music was a bit too loud. The service we received on this visit was not great. We had to asked every time we needed a refill on our water, requested extra sauce that never arrived, the main course was brought out before we were finished with the salad, started dumping the second serving on our plates without saying anything and while we were still eating our first serving, started clearing our plates before asking if we were done, dropped the check at our table right after our dessert arrived. I won’t write off Medium Rare because of one bad server, but it definitely made this visit less enjoyable.

    Delicious food! You have a set menu and everyone who comes in gets the same thing- some rustic bread, a salad, a thinly sliced steak, and fries. What we didn’t know is you get a second helping of the steak and fries! We took that to go for a second dinner; we also opted for a chocolate cake to go. It’s a great value for all you get.

    Excellent food, excellent service in a very loud and slightly chaotic environment. Delicious place to eat just not a great place to have a conversation with your tablemates. There is also a random creepy French language dating tutorial soundtrack in the Women's Room that is just eew.

    The service was great, my server took very good care of us. The food had the potential, it was served cold though, barely lukewarm. I didn't enjoy that but they seems very busy so I just ate what I had. The restaurant was loud, but the ambiance was really nice. I'm particular about restaurant bathrooms but theirs was clean.

    The food is very tasty and that's what's kept us coming back. But... Portions are shrinking. Not as much gravy, fewer fries, lost a slice of steak. Service on this occasion was poor. Server was not welcoming in the least. Clearly only interested in us buying more alcohol. Started clearing the plates before the entire group was finished eating. Dropped the bill as I was finishing my meal. Felt very hurried and rushed. If this was my first time there, I'd not return. But we know the food delivers each & every time so we'll probably give it another shot.

    We were very pleasantly surprised by our meal here. They just do the one thing, but it was done well, and with unexpected refills on the food! Nice variety of cocktails, smaller but solid choices for wine. The service was fantastic. It sometimes takes a village, and every villager was attentive and pleasant. We will definitely return.

    Food was, as always, great. The service was a bit lacking. We were seated in the corner next to a large party and we had difficulty getting our server’s attention. It was also incredibly loud…so much so we had to practically shout at each other to be heard.

    My sister came to town from NYC and Medium Rare was the first thing she wanted to do! We had a lovely evening outside and enjoyed every bite. We love the secret sauce! Absolutely will return, it’s a joy to bring guests to such a DMV treasure.

    The expectation was that there would be a variety of cuts of beef. There was one type of cut (flank steak) with fries. That's it! Asked for a bit of charring with a med/rare temp but that was not what I received. Oh well.

    This is a pretty consistent meal as you always know what you're going to get. I thought the food was a bit more bland today though. And the music at 4:30 on a Sunday needed to be chilled down along with the volume.

    Not bad, just not great. It was decent but I wouldn’t go again. Bread was good and salad was fine. Freshly baked. Butter lettuce and dressing was decent. Steak was very thinly sliced and sauce already on meat. Fries were crisp and hot. I didn’t expect the second half of the steak and fries which was nice. Service was nice and quick since there was only drinks to make a decision on. Overall was good but nothing to write home about.

    The steak tasted good but its just sliced steak on a plate with mediocre fries and brown sauce. Kind of sloppy. The novelty of only one thing on the menu set high expectations for me. But it was just underwhelming and basic. Drinks were good and not overpriced.
