Mele E Pere
Liked this place a lot. Food and service were top quality
Very loud, basic food, slow service. I do not recommend.
Appalling service, felt like my server was ordering for me rather than listening to my order. The food was lovely, but I wouldn’t return due to the frustrating service provided.
Nice waitress but lacked choice and atmosphere. Would not visit again.
My third visit here for lunch, with three different friends. The food is very authentically Italian with some surprises for the 'uninitiated'. We have all enjoyed it immensely; the 2 course lunch with a glass of bubbly is excellent value.
A COMPLETE RIP OFF!
The worst food I have ever had! £18 for what looked like someones leftovers! It wasnt though as my companion had exactly the same. Only 2 prawns, 3 empty prawn shells and 3 clams, one of those empty in the pasta dish. No other seafood and only 2 small 2 inch squares of pasta.
I complained and they replaced it with beef ragu which was very smelly and very strong flavoured. It was a stronger flavour than venison. Awful.
One of our favourite places for a few years now. Consistently good food, well served, in a pleasant atmosphere, and completed by an interesting wine list. What's not to like?
I have been to Mele e Pere several times and love it! It's a great atmosphere, with delicious food and excellent service. Brilliant for catching up with friends or for a quick bite before the theatre.
Great food, great service - loved it!
Food is good, not amazing though. A bit expensive for what you get in my view
Great for big groups because it’s rather big and often have space which is great
Ordered the truffle pasta + beef ragu - both were excellent. Also highly recommend the amalfi lemon gelato! Atmosphere was casual.
Staff were pretty inattentive to the point they were ignoring us.
J’avais espéré de trouver un restaurant vraiment italien mais les plats n’ont pas répondu à mes attentes. Ambiente était bien mais personnel peu sympa et finalement j’étais déçu par le prix élevé pour des plats simples et ne pas authentiques.
Decent food but overpriced for what it is
This was a lovely night out however my only quip was that the service was a bit slow - had to ask 2 times for our drinks order but the food was delish and would def go again
Great venue for lunch in central London. We were a group of 9 and the leisurely pace of the meal suited us given our number as we spent a good three hours catching up with each other. The food was excellent and staff were friendly and attentive. Prices were very reasonable for London and would definitely recommend this place.
A further visit to this Soho restaurant. Again not disappointed. Food was very good as always and service as well despite being very busy with Xmas trade. Highly recommended for very good Italian food and wines and the odd vermouth!!
I used to love love love this restaurant but my seafood pasta was completely inedible. It tasted like someone had thrown a jar of olive brine into the sauce. There were 2 varieties of mussels in it too. Raw ones and dead ones. To be fair they took the dish off the bill but everything was well below average. Such a shame I hope they get back on track
We had a lovely lunch, the service was great and the £20 lunch special is a bargain in Soho.
I’ll ne going again soon
This was my second visit to Mele E Pere for lunch with two different friends. On both occasions we have been delighted with the food. This time I asked that we could be seated downstairs and we certainly enjoyed the atmosphere there. Our Spanish waitress was 'a delight' and cheerfully explained what some of the dishes were and was very attentive. I will definitely return, perhaps with yet another friend!
I went with friends I had not seen for many months and we had a good time. We stayed for very long. Ok place and food is ok too.
Delicious food. Great ambiance. Authentic modern Italian food. A tad on the expensive side but its not an everyday occasion.
Very busy, but still good service, and it wasn't so loud that with noise from the diners which can detract from experience in other restaurants. As a table of 8 orders were delivered together, and we were well looked after.
We had the 3 courses and a glass of fizz for £20. It was excellent value for money and great food and they even gave us a full glass of fizz each! We will definitely return.
Booked for a party of 10. Good food, service and ambiance. Everyone enjoyed & commented on the restaurant being a good choice.
Great food! Really enjoyed the braised venison and the merlot! That being said, service was a bit slow/absentminded and the restaurant gets loud. But the food was great, the neighborhood is my favorite in London, and I would definitely come back to this restaurant!
Cheap menu and the food on the open table menu was mainly good especially the venison. The glass of Prosecco, which came with the set menu, was very disappointing - I’m not sure whether it had been watered down or was just old and flat and, on reflection, we really should have complained. The staff seemed to let the place down. There was no welcoming smile when we arrived and the waiters just appeared very disinterested. Perhaps they were just too busy but to be honest that’s not really an excuse. Having said all this, we had a good evening and will give the restaurant another try at some time to see if we get a better experience.
Loved our evening in this atmospheric basement restaurant. Lovely decor, delightful serving staff and delicious food. Had the best sea bream I've ever tasted. Tad expensive à la carte, but worth it. My friend has the more reasonable set menu.
The food was delicious. The welcome was so hospitable and the service friendly.
Went for lunch with my wife and in-laws. Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Staff were friendly. Would recommend to friends and family.
Nice good value lunch, prefect for meeting friends.
Excellent value with good food and ambiance.
Excellent find, really great food. Staff were all great and not too interfering. Will definitely be back!
Another excellent pre-theatre meal at Mele e Pere. Lovely food from the set menu (burrata, venison haunch and probably the best tiramisu ever!), friendly, efficient service and the three courses + prosecco menu is an incredible bargain. This is definitely one of our two favourite restaurants at the moment.
We opted for the £20 special (3 courses & glass of fizz) and I have to say, having also eaten here a la carte, that probably its a false economy. The fizz is very gassy prosecco, could live without it. I would say that the only part of the meal of note was the main, which was good, the rest I could easily have done without. Starter of "tartare" of beetroot and goats cheese was underwhelming and involved zero culinary skills and would have cost pennies to make at home. The main of bream was good and showed cooking skills. Pud of apple tart my partner liked, I was again underwhelmed. Cheese plate of a small sliver of taleggio was good, if small. On balance I would say do come to this restaurant, but not for the special.
A friend and I lunched here and had the set menu for £20 including a glass of fizz. The choice of dishes was excellent and the food well cooked and nicely presented. All very good and well worth the money.
Very good quality food at a great price!
Great value for money set lunch menu - ideal for a good catch up with friends. Buzzy atmosphere but not too noisy, good service and accommodating for my friend who struggles with IBS
Great ambience - friendly staff - happy to oblige and cater for our dietary requirements - a number of tables were groups of women having reunions (as were we) - great place to do this. Not rushed, relaxed atmosphere and good food reasonably priced
I booked for the £20 three course menu and the food was tasty and great value. Portion size was decent too. It’s a pretty cosy feeling place but not small. downstairs is lovely so try and get seated there. Service was friendly but slow, they were busy so it took a while to get their attention. Great value, I definitely recommend
