    Fantastic meal! Read a lot of reviews that it was a slow service. I felt it was perfectly spaced and perfectly timed. When you have basically 9 dishes, it takes time to get them all out. We did not do the wine pairing, but the selection of wine was great and cocktails were even better. The only drawback on my end was that I felt there wasn’t a dish that was unique. Every dish was cooked perfectly. Would highly recommend going if you have the chance. Worth the price of admission.

    We were immediately greeted by the staffand brought to our table where the service was amazing. We were celebrating our anniversary and started with a beautiful bottle of champagne. We both had the truffle menu with the wine pairing, and it was outstanding!

    We went to the restaurant with high hopes of trying their PrixFix menu, and it was a bit of a mixed experience. The service was excellent, no complaints there. However, when we looked at the menu, we noticed it had quite a few "extras," which felt a bit odd for a PrixFix concept. To add a twist, they offered us a souffle dessert, but it came with an additional cost on top of the $135 PrixFix menu. Now, onto the food. It was good, but I wouldn't call it exceptional. Boiled fingerling potatoes and baked cauliflower as sides just didn't scream "extraordinary" to me. I was hoping for the chef to step it up a notch to make it a true fine dining experience.

    Excellent date night place. Serene, so you can have decent conversation without having to talk louder. Great food - can be Michelin Star if Michelin is in Boston. Good service. Will definitely come back.

    Amazing experience! The service in particular was fantastic. Truly made me feel like a special guest. Food was also excellent, and the wine pairings were generous and very high quality. Even the decaf cappuccino was exceptional. If Michelin comes to Boston, this place will absolutely receive a star. Great for a special occasion or just a weekday treat.

    Obviously pricey and the food was very good but not special. The ambience has always felt cold to me. However the main issue is value. Over $500 for two people who do not drink.

    1.It took them a while to serve. 2.The quality of the wines chosen for the pairing was below average. 3.It was expensive for what we ate. 4.We asked for sparkling water, but after the first glass, they kept refilling with regular water. 5.We definitely overpaid.

    I have been to Menton several times in the past although not recently. Most recent experience was different from priors. 1) seemed much less formal with no tablecloths 2) seemed more like a family restaurant with multiple tables with teenagers in sneakers 3) perhaps because of change in decor the noice volume was quite loud. Hard to hear others due to sound bouncing off multiple hard surfaces 4) waitstaff quality was still excellent. They are still formal/well dressed and attentive 5) food taste was good but several dishes came out slightly cold (Vermont wagyu for example) 6) final bill for two (chefs tasting plus pasta supplement, 1/2 dozen oysters, one glass of wine, one wine paring) was $900 after 22% tip. Not sure if the value was there given the changes compared to prior dining experience.

    I couldn’t love this place more. I am a solo diner and so dinner for one can sometimes be awkward or feel like you’re overlooked. John and team at Menton were AMAZING. They said “we love our solo guests” and they brought out all sorts of treats to make the evening special. The food was so unique and combined flavors I had never tried. Highly highly recommend and thank you for taking the time to get to know me and show me the art of your cuisine.

    Amazing service, second to none; however, the value is just not there…. The food was good but not great. Definitely not worth the almost $1k we dropped on a dinner for two. At that price point we should be blown away.

    A beautiful setting, outstanding service. We did the chef's pairing with wine -wonderful ideas and beautiful presentation of the food- but overall, flavor disappoints. From the opening vegetable course to the dessert (cleverly tied together with overlapping elements), we looked at each other and said, 'we could have cooked that ourselves". The meat courses were missing something- the baby quail, the waygu steak- all a bit bland. Lobster course was terrific but if you believe like we do that the best way to prepare lobster is to do as little as possible- well, again, we could have cooked that ourselves. If you are looking for a celebration and attention, this is your place. If you are looking for something really delicious- another menu would likely be better.

    A tasting menu should offer variety, subtle flavors, interesting textures, and a dining experience worth talking about with great enthusiasm. Menton's does not. Dishes are prepared with care and presented beautifully, but there are no exceptional flavors, no "ah ha" moments on this menu. Service is attentive and excellent, but the food does not measure ujp to a memorable dining experience. and it is extraordinarily expensive.

    John and Tricia are the best servers. Both remembered us and our food allergies. We had the chef’s tasting menu which was comprised of interesting flavor and texture combinations. The wine pairings were varied and delicious and really elevated the food.

    This restaurant was great. I took my wife here our 10 year wedding anniversary and the cuisine, service and drinks did not disappoint. Our waiter had a great personality and knowledge of the food and cocktails. I am looking forward to coming back.

    I think that Menton has not fully recovered from the pandemic (and the whole Barbara Lynch drama). The service is *much* less professional and attentive than previously (timing of dishes, presentation of wine pairing, description of dishes, checking in on table, training and knowledge of food and wine). The food is often excellent (bluefin tuna with foie gras, sweetbreads, all four of the desserts), but other courses are just okay (squid ink pasta with tee-tiny pieces of king crab and sea urchin you could barely taste, slightly watery (undercooked?) black cod, one-note duck breast. Cocktails were a mixed bag -- the espresso martini and L'Azureen were excellent; the gimlet was too sour). You would think that for the prices you pay here ($180 6-course tasting menu, $135 wine pairing), you would have an in-house trained sommelier to talk about the wines with you, but no -- the sommelier apparently isn't even there much of the time -- he was over at No 9 Park when we dined. The server was trying her best, reciting the memorized notes as pleasantly as she could, but she obviously knew very little about wines and was not able to do a proper job. The wine pairing was not especially successful -- we weren't crazy about several of the wines at all, and the pairing of a fruity pinot noir with a very delicately flavored cod dish made zero sense. We did very much enjoy the lovely sauternes that was paired with the dessert course. I'm not sure we'll come back any time soon. It's just too expensive to not have an outstanding experience across the board. It's disappointing, because this used to be one of our favorite restaurants.

    Tasting menu was really well done, although not the best we’ve had. I felt the server/sommelier did not pay as much attention to us as I would have liked (compared to other experiences). My wine glass was empty for most of my courses before I was half finished eating them. Usually when we have tasting menus with wine pairings there is more detail about the courses and the wines. The lack of enthusiasm really took away from the overall experience.

    Dinner at Menton was the best tasting meal experience I have had in a dozen years -- both the food and the experience. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions but were not intrusive. The tasting menu was very well balanced in flavors, textures, and design. Each dish was just complex enough to be interesting, but also approachable. All-in-all, this is a destination restaurant that I will recommend to all my colleagues and friends coming to Boston.

    Amazing service, great atmosphere, really good food. All together was a great dinner. The reason for 4 stars is mainly the price. The food was amazing, but nothing totally blew me away, like I might expect for a $350/person meal. I got the Wagyu tartare supplemental course, which was fantastic, but as someone else mentioned, the preparation of it didn't seem to do the cut the full justice it deserves. I think my favorite course was the squid ink campanelle. If money isn't a concern, definitely worth checking out Menton, but I've had comparable food for less. Granted, I also am not extremely well educated about culinary arts, so take this with a grain of salt. Just someone who enjoys good food.

    Food was on point. Everything else was meh! At a place like Menton you’re paying as much for the food as you are the experience. Well, the experience was a complete miss. Inconsistent service. Empty restaurant and we were sat in the wort seat in the house. Wine pairing not even close to worth it. Light pours and no explanation of what we were drinking. Rushed. Overall, meh! If you want this level of a dining experience save your $$ and head to NYC.

    The service and ambiance are fantastic. The execution of each dish was great. My only refrain would be what was chosen for each dish. We love tasting menus but this one fell short. The tuna to start with was phenomenal, but the following sweetbread and sea urchin felt like something we endured rather than enjoyed. Serving two dishes back to back that are so unique in flavor is a bold choice, and unfortunately we didn’t feel that it was a good one. I would certainly return with a different menu, but this one fell short.

    The bill was $850 for 2 people for dinner. The meal was ok but not outstanding. Half wine bottles not available. Poor selection of wine by glass. Tables very close to each other, basically you can hear others talk. Cocktails not impressive. Overall no reason to come back for the price.
