Spread over two floors, this Fitzrovia-based restaurant is the brainchild of Monica Galetti who is featuring as a judge on the BBC's MasterChef The Professionals.
The restaurant itself serves traditional, simple dishes that have been delicately tweaked and modified to Galetti's liking. Nestled above the spacious basement restaurant is the bar, which serves light snacks and an array of delectable cocktails.
Monica's husband, David Galetti, is in charge of the Front of House at Mere, using his years of experience as an expert sommelier to create a wine selection along side his head Sommelier Sandra that perfectly balances with the seasonal dishes on offer.

What an experience and meeting Monica was the icing on the cake everything was perfection
Lovely relaxed unrushed lunch, friendly staff but not intrusive, intimate ambience. Good food, and a visit from Monica to our table. Perfect.
Fabulous evening - ticked every box for my husbands 50th!!
We went with friend’s dad to celebrate my wife’s Birthday.
It was fabulous.
Lovely experience. We chose Mere to celebrate our third year anniversary, couldn’t of picked a better place.
A warm welcome and great service throughout. Starter and main were delightful but the desert was very poor - more like a chocolate than a desert, so small it was more decoration than food, the serving could have been twice the size and still come short, this was nouveau cuisine par MINIMAL excellence.
I realise that it’s a London restaurant owned by a chef on the television. And I really looked forward to the booking. However the wine was extremely expensive and not of a very good quality. We get a much better wine in the supermarket in France. And a lot less money. The food was exceptional although not enough for my partner.
The service was impeccable both wine waiter and service and greeting. Food was amazing. Fantastic flavours. The whole experience made our wedding anniversary visit very memorable. We will definitely be visiting again.
Whole experience ruined by extremely poor initial service. Arrived at 12:50 for 13:00 booking, ordered and served pre-dinner drinks and then totally ignored until we chased staff at 13:30.
Had taster menu, food was good, but nothing special to warrant the price.
Just the best everthing perfect and good value for money
Fantastic food and service. Last minute changes for a vegan were no problem. Amazing presentation.
I would like to thank Mere for an absolutely amazing experience. The food was even better than expectations if that is possible! The entire staff made us feel extremely welcome and was all, without exception outstanding at their jobs. Everyone seemed extremely happy in their roles and were extremely knowledgable and helpful. Well done to all involved in this restaurant. We will visit a few more times if we can to try the rest of the menu and the tasting menu.
This is a wonderful restaurant. Highly recommended.
Wonderful afternoon spent at this fabulous restaurant everything was fantastic and the food was AMAZING with the added bonus of meeting monica herself who was totally charming and made our day a must visit for all foodies
A fun and interesting experience. A very varied and novel menu delivered stylish platters of exquisite elegance. The service,(our waitress was Nancy ) , was very attentive and professional. We ordered glasses of wine with each course which complemented the food well but were quite small and quite expensive, bearing in mind that the said wines were a Californian blend and a NZ. Pinot.
Overall we were happy to pay the bill but will need to recover before booking again.
Had a fantastic meal on Saturday night. Had the taster menu which was delicious. The whole restaurant has a lovely feel to it. Evening made even better by a visit to the table by Monica herself. Will definitely be making a return visit.
It was a lovely evening, can't wait to go back again and was a real treat to see Monica come round and have a chat with all the diners. Superb!
It was an amazing experience. Outstanding food, ambience and service. The staff were wonderful and the food was everything we expected and more!
Highly recommend the tasting menu; delicious works of art! Great tasting cocktails too. Would definitely go again!
The staff were very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is not too big so there is a nice atmosphere, not noisy but a healthy buzz. The food was amazing. Only one comment the aperitifs could have been more exciting.
Excellent food , loved the friendly relaxed manner of the staff and the attention to detail was exceptional.
Great service and great food. Monica spoke to all the guests which was a lovely surprise. Definitely recommend eating here!
A la carte menu. Cocktails to start and a week chosen bottle of wine to match the food. Owner and chef Monica came out to talk to everyone and it was a joy to talk to her. Meal was exceptional. My soufflé divine.
Just amazing ! Food, wine & service was impeccable .. Thankyou x
Given Monica’s attention to detail, unfortunately the service was underwhelming. We chose the tasting menu with accompanying wines, on several occasions the food was served well before the wine was actually poured and on 2 occasions we were poured wine with no explanation as to what we were drinking. This also happened with a couple of the courses. The wine poured was an extremely small measure and we were never offered a top up. It was a real shame as the food was very good.
Was looking forward to the Mere experience but was slightly disappointed, I thought the staff were really helpful and professional but wasn’t bowled over by the food which was a shame; very small salmon starter and not the great flavours I was expecting.
Don’t get me wrong it was a really nice experience but it didn’t knock my sox off !
Wonderful food great wine list - perfect lunch! Great treat!
Greeted by David at the door with a very warm welcome We had the lunch menu Excellent food Wine a bit expensive but delicious Staff were very friendly and helpful but as restaurant got busy they forgot to top up our wine so had an empty glass at one stage Overall though we did enjoy our experience
Despite the food being very good it fell a long way short of being a pleasurable dining experience.
To be honest it got off to a bad start in the bar when we asked if the barman could make an Apple Martini and the reply was a straight and very blunt NO - not “I’ll ask the bartender” or “I’m very sorry but we can’t stray beyond the drinks menu”......a straight NO!
Our table was at 7.45pm and we were seated promptly, by 8.30pm we had been served a pre-starter, our starter, bread and our main course......we couldn’t believe how rushed the entire experience was. There was a 14 minute gap (thanks to the obsession nowadays of taking photos of food we could see the time gap) between our starter being served and our main being served - we had to eat our starter within that time too.
The whole experience was poor especially as expectations were relatively high.
Our bill was £210 whereas we were expecting to spend circa £350.......the bill being cheaper wasn’t a good thing - we simply couldn’t face a dessert due to the pace at which the first two courses were served and we also didn’t enjoy drinks beyond our bottle of wine (which we only finished because we asked for the end of our bottle before we got the bill). We wanted an experience, several courses, different wines and to leave late on feeling like we had dined in an excellent restaurant however sadly this wasn’t the case.
Based on our experience we would recommend looking at other dining options in London before settling on MERE!
Lovely staff and ambience. Two of the courses were poor - scallop overcooked and frozen fruit in desert.
Easy to book on line - very good reception, coats and umbrellas(it was a very wet day) nicely stored. Very welcoming, guided to our table and given time to study the menu and wine list. The service throughout was exceptionally good, the food was perfect (The crab was delicious) combined with a very relaxing atmosphere - We will definitely return to enjoy other menu items.
Small and cosy restaurant. We had 3 course set menu for lunch and it was delicious. There was a tasting menu for meat eaters and one for veggies and à la carte. Fabulous duck and the starter of soft shell crab was delicious. Would highly recommend it but go soon before Monica gets awarded her Michelin stars or the prices will go up.
As great as I hoped. You pay for what you get. Amazing food and service for a special occasion.
So often one hears of restaurants run by "TV Chefs" and then being somewhat disappointed by the reality. This was far from the case here at the trolly wonderful Mere. From the moment we were greeted at the door until our departure three hours later we were treated with perfection by everyone. The ambience is second to none with the most inspiring artwork particularly in the restaurant itself but also in the bar area where we enjoyed a leisurely aperitif prior to being ushered to table number one which was extremely comfortable and spacious, a point very much in its favour as I am over six feet tall and hate being squeezed behind small tables!
Without going into specific detail of each course, our experience of the tasing menu with accompanying wines was sublime with absolutely faultless dishes at every one of the six courses. We were both overwhelmed by the flavours and textures along with the care in presentation , the partnering of some unusual but perfect wines and the wonderful service from management and staff all of whom really cared that we had everything we wanted when we wanted it without being in any way rushed. David Galetti and his team were outstanding in every way and added greatly to what really was the most perfect evening. We left by taxi and agreed that this was the best dining we had experienced in London in over forty years and on a par with the finest in the rest of the country. Thank you to all concerned. Well done Monica and David!!
This was a dinner visit planned for two months so expectations were very high indeed. They were fulfilled to 99%
We had the tasting menu which was delicious with only slight reservation for the beef which could have been slighly juicier for my liking. The Scallop with with its cocoa curry sauce was outstanding.
All staff were of course very professional and we had a great recommendation from the sommelier.
I went to Mere to surprise my partner for her 50th birthday and it was a more than successful event. The food was amazing and the ambience just to our likings. The price is competitive for London standards and I would definitely go here again.
Should however by far out been a 5 star rating but can't give that ... why you asking? The parfait (last course) was rockhard and too frozen and one had to use the prong of the fork to eat it. Fortunately the one from the birthday girl was not as bad as mine.
I made the staff aware who were offering me another one so they attempted to resolve it as they should but I firstly declined eating yet more and in a place of this caliber such a mistake just should not happen imho. Still paid for the service charge as the birthday lady had a smile on her face when we left. Pity that the imperfection has to make me critical in the rating. Still would return but hopefully these mistakes will be ironed out rapidly.
Food was outstanding along with excellent service, would definitely recommended to a friend
Amazing food, great atmosphere and friendly professional service - what more could one ask for!
Starter really good. Main roast duck confit a bit too salty. Didn't eat dessert as didn't want to ruin evening meal at Ritz. Service superb, ambience really relaxed. Waiters answered questions very patiently. Pity toilets are on ground level and eating area downstairs especially as lift didn't seem self controlled.
Don't tell people to go to Tottenham Court Road to get a taxi as cab drivers avoid that road since they were banned from driving on one side of the road, ? east direction.
Would visit again in a heartbeat but live 150 miles away.
