We accept reservations on a limited basis via OpenTable, but hold the majority of the restaurant for walk-in parties. Because we hold tables for walk-ins, we recommend coming in and if there is a wait, we will seat you as quickly as possible. Generally speaking, everything moves pretty quickly in here and of course the bar areas are first come, first serve.
We do not reserve outdoor tables because we can never be sure of the weather. If you make a reservation, you can request to be seated outside on the patio when a table becomes available.
Thu–Sat 11:00 am–10:00 pm
Sat, Sun 11:00 am–3:00 pm
There is also metered parking in front and behind the restaurant.
Great brunch menu and food is always fresh
Restaurant has a great terrace and semi open interior bar area which is great during warm months
I have not tried if for dinner in the evening but definitely will
I have never been in a noisier place. People were leaning forward at every table and straining to try to hear each other. By the time I left I was starting to get a sore throat from having to speak much more loudly than usual. The food was great but if we go back it will be for takeout.
Coworker and I went for lunch. We both got the same thing. The express lunch where you pick two half portions of soup, salad, and/or tacos. I got the buttermilk chicken salad and shimmo taco. Both were delicious. Tasted fresh and very flavorful. Waiter was attentive without being overbearing. Lunch went quickly, which is great since we had to get back to work. Portions didn't seem big but we both ended up feeling full but not heavy. Very satisfying. Overall, great first time experience for me.
It is very noisy and hard to hold a decent conservation, little kids running all over the place and very loud. The food was good, nothing special, but it is over priced for what you get.
The food at Millie's was very, very good. Two couples shared a big house salad which had tons of fresh vegetables and was perfectly dressed. My husband and I had the crab fried rice with mango and pineapple among other yummy ingredients and it was really delicious! One of our friends had the fish tacos while his wife had the Ahi tuna. Both really enjoyed their dishes. The only two downsides two Millie's during our visit was 1) terrible service. Our server basically abandoned us for over 30 minutes after initially saying hello and getting our drinks order. We had to call him over to remind him that we were here and ready to order. On a related note, they got my husband's order wrong and he had to wait -- about 10 minutes for them to make the correct meal for him. It was a bummer, but not a travesty. Secondly, we had two tables of loud, inebriated guests next to us. The first time we moved. The second time we were stuck. And, it was a Tuesday night -- so not exactly, party night. The restaurant is very loud which is fun but not if you're trying to have a conversation over a meal. Otherwise, the food is worth the prices ...just wish the service had been better.
I so want to like this restaurant, but the noise level is so high that it almost hurts. Trying to have a conversation is extremely difficult. If you can sit outside, it can be a much better experience. The food was good and the service was outstanding. I will come back, but only to sit outside.
We keep giving Millie's a try and hoping for better, because some aspects have promise and seafood is hard to find in general. But the last couple of times including this one have been substantial disappointments. The hostess couldn't find our reservation so we ended up inside and late with a tiny table. The wine and beer were good but rather pricey, as was everything else for what it was. The appetizer we shared, a summer roll, sounded interesting but the actual was meh at best, using unripe and thus tasteless fruit. Both of us had tacos that again sounded good in theory but were so 'busy' with such a mash-up of ingredients that the main components (shrimp and mahi-mahi) were drowned out, not to be replaced by distinctive tastes, and the tortillas themselves disintegrated on contact (who wants to eat a taco with a knife and fork??). The side salad with the tacos was bitter to the point of not being edible - not sure if that was due to greens, dressing, or what but some grape tomatoes gave their lives for nothing. The server was cheerful but clearly distracted and largely absent. And good grief, it was loud. Not in a good-energy kind of way but in a ear-splitting distraction, give-up-on-conversation annoying kind of way. We got fed and nursed our drinks (giving up on getting another round) but that was about it. Not a good value on any level, unfortunately.
Lobster Roll! This is a fantastic lobster roll. Appetizers are great. Liquor menu is good. Expectedly noisy.
We went with a group that had babies and an afternoon there was perfect! Lots of other kids and room
Our server was attentive & the food was fabulous. We had the lobster quesadilla & a salad.
They have to do something about the acoustics inside bc we couldn’t hear each other on a week night among our booth it was so noisy.
Great as always! Food is fresh and well
Prepared and the service is excellent
Way too loud. Food nice but driven out by wall of noise
Went to Millie's with my parents visiting from out of town. We went on a Sunday night. All of us enjoyed our meals and the bar selections. After dinner we got a night cap out on the patio, which was very enjoyable. I recommend and will return.
I had a fantastic salad, I loved it. The restaurant inside was quite noisy.
Rainy Saturday night, clam chowder and a wonderful tuna taco. Great combination. Terrific service but the noise level was rock concert level. Ish they served desserts.
It’s nice to have a fun and high quality alternative in the AU Park area.
A very fun place to eat outdoors. Kid and dog friendly, so you'll get a lot of both running around. Food is well prepped and very tasty, though can be overly salty. Wait staff are likely nearby AU students and surprisingly excellent! Only downsides are the high decibel level indoors and what can amount to a hefty tab at the end for what generally amounts to a somewhat upscale seaside eatery.
Menu selections were just adequate. The lobster roll option was limited to the mayo lobster salad, and we prefer our lobster sauteed in butter on a toasted roll. We summer on Martha's Vineyard every year so the ambiance felt very New England. Overall, it was a nice mid-week change of pace.
Quite noisy at an inside table. Very busy night. Dressing on my 'Lobb' Salad was extremely salty. Pumpernickel toast under the avocado toast was very thick - nicer on a cold night than a hot summer evening. Good list for wine and beer.
Delicious seafood and fun atmosphere. Felt like we were in Nantucket, not DC! I had lobster on salad and it was so fresh. The chips and guacamole were also delicious. Everyone else at our table liked their tacos and salads. Can’t wait to go back.
1st time at Millie’s and can’t wait to go back. Such wonderful seafood menu, I had a hard time choosing, but decided on lobster salad for lunch, and it was delicious!
Salads were just average; Quesadilla was BROWN (no color on the plate) and while the scallops my husband had were fine, whatever else was on the plate was too salty to eat according to him! So all in all while we enjoyed the patio and had great service from a cheerful server, the food was disappointing.
Service was great. Food was great! A little pricey! We'll be back .
Great Family neighborhood restaurant.
Fun 4th of July late lunch. We all had lobster rolls- amazing! Our waitress Nikki was very pleasant & went out of her way to accommodate my elderly father. He was very impressed & touched!
2 4 lunch. 1 lobster roll nicely prepared and delicious (also quite expensive) and 1 grilled shrimp salad with creative crunch and yummy taste. Portions were large. Servers efficient and fun. Too hot to eat outside though it did look quite inviting with umbrella-shaded tables. Inside was energetically loud but no problem in conversing across our table.
Went for a casual business lunch with four co-workers. It was my first time at the restaurant. We ordered an appetizer to share and then three of us had the crab cake sandwich, which was excellent. My only criticisms would be 1) The appetizer and entrees were served too close together. We only had our appetizer for about two minutes before the entrees arrived. 2) The atmosphere/decor is lovely, but the acoustics make it very difficult to hear, so our conversation was rather strained. 3) Surprisingly, they don't serve any dessert. They have an ice cream shop outside, which they encourage you to visit, but if you want to have dessert with your meal, you're out of luck. We did go outside for ice cream, but it definitely wasn't my first choice for dessert. Plus, it was a super hot day and I would have preferred to be indoors in air conditioning. Instead we sat outside in 90 degree weather.
Staff was especially welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly
We went to Millie's on a beautiful evening for the outdoor seating. It's bit noisy inside but very pleasant on the patio. The service was prompt and friendly. We ordered salads and appetizers and they were all very good - oysters on the half shell, salmon salad, and another salad with crab meat.
lovely setting. delicious food. Service with excellent and it was a great place to meet up with friends
Lively, loud, kid friendly...food was good, very fast service-just felt like they wanted to turn the table.
Food was good but very pricey. Downtown restaurant prices which usually provide more complex food and with better ambience. Ambience was so-so. I don't understand the reservation policy. I could not get the time that I wanted when I called several days in advance. When I arrived the place was 1/3 occupied , at best. I was told that you generally do not accept reservations to capacity. I suggest that you have a sensible reservation policy so that it is first come first served. Take another look at the prices, too.
We went for an after exhibit dinner at9. This is the loudest restaurant I have ever been at— indoor or out. The food was fine but I will never go back if there is anything at all I want to say to my dinner companions.
Love our neighborhood seafood restaurant!
We celebrated my friend's birthday with a wonderful lunch at Millie's. I had my favorite, the Great Point Salad, that has shrimp, mango, and crushed peanuts. It's always delicious. Our server was wonderful. I definitely recommend Millie's.
Loved the lobster salad!!
Servers inattentive and unhelpful
This is always so good and it was instant gratification...we were served in about 10 minutes! Best lobster roll outside of New England! Buttery, toasted roll, lots of lobster and very little else!
Loved Millie's food and the service was great. I cannot recommend it to others, however, and will not be likely to return myself because the noise level was so high that I developed a headache. Our party of four had to yell and repeat each other to try to carry on a conversation.
Millie's needs to make serious noise-mitigation changes--to ceilings and floors.
