We were sat upstairs which had a bar that had a company event going that was suppose to be over at 7pm but the party extended during our dinner . Folks were very loud we could barely hold nor hear ourselves at our own table .
Great food and buzzing place, but noisy and young (only a bad thing if you’re not noisy and old!)
Incredibly noisy (college night) but worth it in food quality
Delicious but WAY too loud. Wild bar scene makes everyone else in restaurant scream to be heard.
The restaurant was okay. If I could give the chef a piece of advice it would be on any taco made with a corn tortilla, use two tortillas so WHEN the first tortilla gets soaked thru, the customer doesn’t have to struggle to eat a soaked mess that’s falling apart!
The food over all was moderately good, nothing special. Your really paying for atmosphere, which is a 3 out of 5 itself. I wouldn’t really come back, there are tons of better options out their!
If you want a quieter experience, request a table outside
Good Group Brunch
Came here for group brunch for friends. Did bottomless because wanted something different than mimosas. They use decent tequila (el Jimador) in margaritas which is a plus. I always think drinks can be stronger. After about 30 minutes with no food/drinks, the pitchers of margaritas started flowing and we didn't have to wait for refills. Could give more chips with the salsa and guacomole. My french toast was plentiful and very good. Little headache with the bill but they made up for it with house round of shots.
Delicious burrito and all you can eat salsa! Quite loud inside but that’s because the place is such a hit!
Good date, super loud
Saw this under the Mexican category with seats for the time my friend and I wanted to meet for dinner, so I made a reservation. It’s right off the DuPont metro (literally steps), has a cool outdoor seating area with string lights, and the food was all so fresh, flavorful, and filling! Am looking forward to returning.
The service was good, but the restaurant was SO LOUD. It's the loudest restaurant I've been to in D.C. My food was good but not hot. I wouldn't go back.
The food at Mission was amazing. We loved the Elotes. My husband said it was his favorite dish while we were visiting DC. The staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic!
Great and unique Mex food. We live in San Diego which has some great Mex restaurants. This place has different dishes and sides that made it very enjoyable.
Mission was great! My friends and I had been looking forward to dining on their patio and it did not disappoint! The margaritas and tacos were great and the atmosphere was amazing!
Service was quick and accurate, our server was friendly, and the food was great. A regular spot for me.
Simply one of the best restaurants offering Mexican cuisine in NW DC. High quality food and great drinks. The sangria at Mission is a must-try
Great for brunch ... the bottomless bloodys, margs an mimosas with an included entree for 35 dollars is a great deal. Only issue. The food was bland. EVERYTHING needed salt
Food was great, service was terrible. We weren’t able to reap the benefits of our bottomless brunch since we couldn’t get anyone to refill our drinks.
The margs are also pretty terrible. I’d stick with the mimosas if you’re there for brunch.
Lastly, we opted to sit at the bar even though we had a reservation because the dining room was just too loud. Felt like I was in a frat house.
Booked 4 days ahead, but no table available due to “over-booking”. When we were finally sat, it took ~15-20 minutes between each visit from the server. The food was great, but I was terribly disappointed in the service from the hosting staff to the waiter.
The place was cool and had a ton of young people. Our server left us for 25 minutes so we decided to grab the check and eat elsewhere. The chips and salsa to start were good
It was great, but the nose level from a happy hour or event at the bar was extremely loud with people encroaching into our space at our table from the bar. The food and service were great though.
The elote loco is awesome!!!
There is a horrible smell inside. It smells like mildew, if you still want to try... sit outside in the patio area.
The food and service were very good. Unfortunately, he tables inside we’re a little too close, so it felt like we were on a date with the family next to us. If you’re looking for some privacy while getting to know someone, this might not be your first choice. If you’re looking for a good meal, though, strong recommend.
So loud. So hot. So terrible.
I've been to Mission for dinner and happy hour before, but this was my first experience with brunch. I had been warned about the bottomless margaritas - but I figured if I was careful I'd be okay. First of all, the margaritas are WAY too sweet. I even had our waiter bring a bottle of seltzer to mix with them and they were still crazy sweet. I ordered the breakfast fajitas which were recommended by our waiter - but he didn't tell me that switching the protein would also eliminate the eggs. Also, I found that neither the protein or the veggies had that great char that's supposed to come with fajitas, so honestly they weren't good. Neither was the unlimited guac, which we never asked to refill. And returning to the sweetness of the margs, I've never had such a bad same-day hangover in my life. Woof.
Was in the mood for Mexican food after seeing a couple cooking shows featuring tacos and burritos. Got an outside table so I could listen to the Orioles game on my Sony Walkman. The spicy corn cob was delicious, but the nachos a bit dull. Service was friendly but a little slow.
Poor service. Hostess seated us in dark, empty area that looks more like a barren basement than the trendy photos online. Asked to be moved and all of a sudden no seats available even though we clearly saw empty tables. Decided to sit at bar. Bartender only paid attention to the men. Happy hour ended because she didn’t notice us trying to get her attention for half an hour.
I've never had a bad experience at mission! Aside from being one of the best brunch deals, The atmosphere and service is amazing. They've always been so accommodating and eager to make sure i have a great experience!
Absolutely loved this place! Pitchers of margaritas was a hit! Great quality all around. Great vibe and super accommodating. My daughter decided to join us at the last minute and the hostess made room for her at our table❤️ Make reservations.
Excellent food, friendly service, great decor. Definitely energetic at dinner time, even mid-week. I had thought nachos had a pretty small range of quality, but I had the nachos with chicken and it was OUTSTANDING. Flavorful, balanced, fresh. Highly recommended.
Party of 7, group of friends who meet at a conference once a year. We can be loud, but we fit right into the vibe of Mission. Great margarita and the tacos were made with fresh ingredients and VERY tasty. We got in and out in a little over an hour - had to make an evening plenary session. Make a reservation and they'll have the table set and ready to go for you.
Came here because a friend suggested that this was a good get together for CC sips. When I came in, even though I had reservations, it was sort of empty and was able to be seated immediately near the windows on a picnic table.
My daughter and I love this place. We are from Cincinnati and it was recommended to us by our hotel in Feb 2017. We could not wait to go back when we visited this June.
The food quality simply does not match the price. $70 for two orders of nearly inedible taco platters and 2 basic drinks? Not okay.
Very good margaritas- not too sweet. And great nachos - I wish that I had more steak on them though
Good shrimp tacos
Was very loud, very busy. Service was sporadic but wouldn’t prevent me from coming back. Been here many times, it was just not as good service and ambience wise this time.
Duck leg confit Fajitas were great and ample but tortillas were thin & dry. Server never came back to ask if we needed more.
