My first time there, and I brought some friends from out of town with me. We had a great time and enjoyed the food. The only downside is that if you are ordering pitchers of margs, they fill them mostly with ice.
Always a great experience and the bottomless brunch deal is really one of the best in DC!
Our waitress was rude. It seemed like every time we asked for something we were bothering her. Pretty much everything is premade so don’t bother asking for special accommodations. They won’t do them even if they can. Also the music is so loud don’t bother trying to have a conversation.
good time was had by all, food was very good, this was the 2nd time I was there.
The food was poorly cooked and cold. I ordered the burrito. The oil that it was cooked in tasted like it was old, which then impacted the taste of the dish.
Good not great. We got there early and had a few drinks at the bar, which were great. Were promptly seated at our reservation time. Good chips, salsa, and guac. Tacos and carne asada were only so-so. Corn tortillas fell apart immediately and the seasoning for everything was only okay. The music was turned up around 8 so having a conversation was difficult without shouting. Looks like it's a great spot for large groups though.
Awesome place. Incredible environment and finally some great salsa in DC
Very crowded but the hostess was able to find a table earlier than our reserved time. Food was outstanding. I have eaten at the newer location in the Navy Yard a few months ago, so I was generally familiar with the menu.
I really wanted to love this place, but the food was mediocre at best. While the service was pretty good, the food was a disappointment. We tried the tacos and the enchiladas - the only one I liked was the chicken enchilada, but the tacos were cold. They have a great happy hour deal on margarita pitchers, so might be worth a return for that, but head somewhere else if you want good Mexican food.
It was friday happy hour- very very loud and mostly people coming in after school and work.
Server was great
Birthday dinner, we had a great experience
Very fun spot for couples and groups! Will definitely be back
I’ve been to Missions numerous times. But, it had been awhile since I dined there. I was utterly disappointed with this visit. I ordered two margaritas asking specifically for salt on the rim. Nonetheless, they were served without salt (my biggest pet peeve at a Mexican restaurant). Also, I ordered guacamole.....and it never came to the table. My waitress did not recognize this until I asked her to correct the bill. Regarding the waitress, she was MIA for a good 20 minutes. One reason I didn’t even bother asking for an update on the guacamole. I am not sure whether Mission strives to be a restaurant and a dance club or perhaps just the latter. If they plan to do both, they better step it up on the former. There’s too much competition in this town for them to last with below par service.
God was good but appetisers and mains arrived together. In fact one appetiser can after the mains had arrived. Had to ask for the mains to be taken back to the kitchen and they were put under the warmer so like warm when they came back. Brought back as I was still eating the end of the appetiser.
Food was tasty but rushed through everything within 50 minutes, which meant the who experience wasn’t that enjoyable, which was a shame given the tasty food.
We were sat upstairs which had a bar that had a company event going that was suppose to be over at 7pm but the party extended during our dinner . Folks were very loud we could barely hold nor hear ourselves at our own table .
Great food and buzzing place, but noisy and young (only a bad thing if you’re not noisy and old!)
Incredibly noisy (college night) but worth it in food quality
Delicious but WAY too loud. Wild bar scene makes everyone else in restaurant scream to be heard.
The restaurant was okay. If I could give the chef a piece of advice it would be on any taco made with a corn tortilla, use two tortillas so WHEN the first tortilla gets soaked thru, the customer doesn’t have to struggle to eat a soaked mess that’s falling apart!
The food over all was moderately good, nothing special. Your really paying for atmosphere, which is a 3 out of 5 itself. I wouldn’t really come back, there are tons of better options out their!
If you want a quieter experience, request a table outside
Good Group Brunch
Came here for group brunch for friends. Did bottomless because wanted something different than mimosas. They use decent tequila (el Jimador) in margaritas which is a plus. I always think drinks can be stronger. After about 30 minutes with no food/drinks, the pitchers of margaritas started flowing and we didn't have to wait for refills. Could give more chips with the salsa and guacomole. My french toast was plentiful and very good. Little headache with the bill but they made up for it with house round of shots.
Delicious burrito and all you can eat salsa! Quite loud inside but that’s because the place is such a hit!
Good date, super loud
Saw this under the Mexican category with seats for the time my friend and I wanted to meet for dinner, so I made a reservation. It’s right off the DuPont metro (literally steps), has a cool outdoor seating area with string lights, and the food was all so fresh, flavorful, and filling! Am looking forward to returning.
The service was good, but the restaurant was SO LOUD. It's the loudest restaurant I've been to in D.C. My food was good but not hot. I wouldn't go back.
The food at Mission was amazing. We loved the Elotes. My husband said it was his favorite dish while we were visiting DC. The staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic!
Great and unique Mex food. We live in San Diego which has some great Mex restaurants. This place has different dishes and sides that made it very enjoyable.
Mission was great! My friends and I had been looking forward to dining on their patio and it did not disappoint! The margaritas and tacos were great and the atmosphere was amazing!
Service was quick and accurate, our server was friendly, and the food was great. A regular spot for me.
Simply one of the best restaurants offering Mexican cuisine in NW DC. High quality food and great drinks. The sangria at Mission is a must-try
Great for brunch ... the bottomless bloodys, margs an mimosas with an included entree for 35 dollars is a great deal. Only issue. The food was bland. EVERYTHING needed salt
Food was great, service was terrible. We weren’t able to reap the benefits of our bottomless brunch since we couldn’t get anyone to refill our drinks.
The margs are also pretty terrible. I’d stick with the mimosas if you’re there for brunch.
Lastly, we opted to sit at the bar even though we had a reservation because the dining room was just too loud. Felt like I was in a frat house.
Booked 4 days ahead, but no table available due to “over-booking”. When we were finally sat, it took ~15-20 minutes between each visit from the server. The food was great, but I was terribly disappointed in the service from the hosting staff to the waiter.
The place was cool and had a ton of young people. Our server left us for 25 minutes so we decided to grab the check and eat elsewhere. The chips and salsa to start were good
It was great, but the nose level from a happy hour or event at the bar was extremely loud with people encroaching into our space at our table from the bar. The food and service were great though.
The elote loco is awesome!!!
There is a horrible smell inside. It smells like mildew, if you still want to try... sit outside in the patio area.
The food and service were very good. Unfortunately, he tables inside we’re a little too close, so it felt like we were on a date with the family next to us. If you’re looking for some privacy while getting to know someone, this might not be your first choice. If you’re looking for a good meal, though, strong recommend.
So loud. So hot. So terrible.
