Came here because a friend suggested that this was a good get together for CC sips. When I came in, even though I had reservations, it was sort of empty and was able to be seated immediately near the windows on a picnic table.
My daughter and I love this place. We are from Cincinnati and it was recommended to us by our hotel in Feb 2017. We could not wait to go back when we visited this June.
The food quality simply does not match the price. $70 for two orders of nearly inedible taco platters and 2 basic drinks? Not okay.
Very good margaritas- not too sweet. And great nachos - I wish that I had more steak on them though
Good shrimp tacos
Was very loud, very busy. Service was sporadic but wouldn’t prevent me from coming back. Been here many times, it was just not as good service and ambience wise this time.
Duck leg confit Fajitas were great and ample but tortillas were thin & dry. Server never came back to ask if we needed more.
We were at a movie Regal Gallery Place- with a tide of Caps fans on game watch night -and then on to Anderson House for a Hamilton lecture-exhibit- and yes!- this was a brief and pleasant interlude. Mission facade is reminiscent of the real ones in Texas/California- down to the gorgeous interior tiles. The food was excellent Mexican haute cuisine- from the sizzling steak fajitas- with grilled cauliflowers in the veggies- to the fresh delicious guacamole. Beautiful ambiance for this great DC location- festive lights on the patio welcome all passers by- the service warm and friendly. A Dupont Circle classic for sure.
The brunch steak and eggs was very bland and overly oily|greasey. Everything was ok.
We had a lovely birthday dinner for my girlfriend. The staff was attentive and on-point.
Decent Mexican food in a cool environment with grumpy servers. Pass on the overly sweet and weak margarita pitchers and order straight tequila or beer. It is SUPER loud in here, so don't go planning to have important conversation. Bar area is very energetic and filled with a young crowd, so this place is perfect if you're looking for some fun and mingle time.
Nice hip restaurant
Can never go wrong with a Mission Brunch. The steak and fried egg fajita was amazing!
Over all if was a good night eating at MIssion. I was, however, disappointed in how small the portion of duck was on my plate. I ordered the fajitats and you have to buikld it your self. There was very little meat on the plate and it was mostly vegatbles. The ratio needed to be a little more even.
Khalil was an excellent waiter. Food was very fresh with abundant serving.. I have a passion for classic or traditional margaritas and theirs was spot on. Great location in DuPont Circle. Out door patio always hopping on pretty days. Upbeat crowd. I was so happy not to encounter tequila snobs in staff.
Terrible, slow service.
Overall it was ok. The drinks were “meh”, the food was ok, but the service wasn’t great. We had to ask for water, napkins, silverware, etc.
Great brunch, really delicious guac! Would come back!
Mission was a great brunch spot! We loved our experience and will definitely be going back again! The food & service were great!
The service was inattentive and my margarita was very watered down. I love the ambiance and was able to sit down right away but was disappointed by the service (had to call down the waitress a few times) and my $12 drink that was mainly water.
We arrived at 1:45. We were not served food until 3:30. Our server was doing the best she could...too many tables for one person to serve. I am not happy with management with the understaffing issue.
Had been to Mission before and had a great experience, however, this experience was not so great. The atmosphere was extremely loud, so loud my husband & I couldn’t even really have a conversation. Would have preferred to sit outside. (Unfortunately could not because of rain) The food was just average. Definitely not worth the prices they charge. No tortilla bowl for the salad anymore, which was super disappointing. Waiter was friendly, but clearly very busy. Initial drinks ordered took forever to be made due to a backup at the bar. Sangria was not great for the price. Likely would not go back.
Very disappointing. Made a reservation for 8 for a casual business dinner on a Tuesday evening. We were crammed at a table big enough for 6 at the most in a room right next to the hostess stand. It was two 4 tops pushed together next to a pillar so the server had to go all the way around to get to the other side of the table due to the pillar and host stand. The temperature was uncomfortably warm (we were all sweating) and the noise level was unbearable. You would think 8 adults being shoved at a table for 6 could hear each other, but not when the surrounding diners were essentially in your lap, and also shoved into a tiny space. When I got up to use the restroom, I found an entire section of the restaurant empty... Sadly disappointed, won't be returning.
Jacob was excellent. He made sure we had everything we needed and we were taken care of. We definitely made the right choice for our anniversary brunch.
Totally awesome food and service. Alot of teeny boppers until 7pm so beware. Best Mexican we've ever had.
It was a good experience but the waiter forgot it was my girlfriends birthday :(
Service was slow
It was busy so the services was slow. Food was bland. Nothing special.
It was a little loud for my taste, especially for brunch. My dish has too much cheese and tasted a bit salty.
Great food and drinks. The nachos are some of the best I've ever had.
I always love Mission for great Mexican food, especially when it's warm enough to sit outside. But we had a great experience this week when we went for my friend's birthday. The waitress served us a delicious brownie for no charge and made our friend feel special.
Always love coming to Mission! Brought my friend here from out of town and was the perfect place to start our Saturday night. Had lots of great food - I recommend splitting the steak fajitas as the portion is huge! Margarita pitchers were fabulous, although they tend to be heavy on the ice but our server was great about fixing that for the second round. Service is great and we had a fun time, will be back soon!
We went to Mission on a Saturday night based on good reviews of their margaritas, which did not disappoint. The food was so-so, but there were a wide variety of vegetarian options, which was nice. The pork and chicken enchiladas were very good and there's a decent Mexican beer selection too. But it is LOUD and cramped, with a completely separate (and long) wait list for the outdoor tables. Seems best for happy hour.
Absolutely LOVE this place. It's a go-to spot for me and a friend--we're there almost every Monday. Great happy hour (that includes food!) and runs for a decent amount of time. Note that it can get pretty packed and noisy. Looking forward to warmer weather so we can snag a spot on the patio.
Had to wait 20 minuets past our reservation time to be seated
Sub par food and service, nice place.
Nachos are are great! Fun atmosphere during Happy Hour. For those that don't drink alcohol, virgin margarita is great.
Our group of 7 had a great time as Mission's brunch! The menu was accommodating, and had options with both lunch and breakfast dishes. The bottomless deal was also great, you were able to switch between the different drink choices. They also were able to seat us early! It was great for a bigger group!
BEST BRUNCH IN DC. Guac and bottomless margaritas - need I say more?
The food and the service is always exceptional at Mission. Whenever I travel to DC from NY I make it an absolute must to have dinner there.
