We were disappointed about a few things. We booked a table for dinner on 13 Nov 2020.
- I called the restaurant in the afternoon after making a dinner booking on line as wanted to organise a dessert plate with birthday message for my friend, who was having her birthday that day. All the details was taken on the phone, including a name, a type of dessert etc. I do no think our request was even logged. No staff seemed to know about my request - really disappointing.
- We ordered a steak - the waitress did not even ask how we want it to be done.
- A side dish we order was not served and we had to order it again. By the time it was served, we were finished with our meals.

Lovely experience. We were celebrating our Anniversary and enjoyed both the food and the overall experience.
Our Waiter (Sorry I forget his name) was friendly and professional. The team did look a little stretched on the night so there was a couple of little service slip up's, but everything was fixed really quick.
Also a little confusion with our bill (I signed without looking at it!) as we were given the wrong one but once again was rectified with no fuss.
If I was to nitpick - there was some sort of noise/alarm in the background that stayed all night. I wasn't too bothered but my wife couldn't seem to "unhear" it.
Also felt like the place could use some ambient music...
All in all a lovely night. Thank you for the "Happy anniversary" plate. We enjoyed our night immensely.

Food is not bad, but whether it’s the environment or the presentation of the food is very different to what you see on the photo. Service is what you would expect for the price you pay, it’s not really good but not bad either.
Spring menu is boring. Staff were run off their feet (understaffed). Our main took nearly one hour to arrive.
All of this is disappointing as the place is normally good.
Ancient covid signin as well. You have to write out your details on a piece of paper. EVERY other place in town is electronic.
Needs to be fixed. Please do so to all of above.

Food was very nice and great ambience, would have rated higher but felt staff service was ok could have been better for a greater experience, they forgot to bring my wine and then it was added to bill, but he kindly removed charge.
The food and service was impeccable! Could not fault any of our dishes. Very attentive staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
The rib-eye steak was unbelievable. All the food was SO delicious, even the kid's pasta was next level. Will definitely return for more.

Food was fabulous, would definitely go back. The waiters were extremely hard to hear as they did have to wear masks, but understandable at the moment.
We were placed next to a wait station that was high traffic with the staff & was loud, there were other options they should of offered as we had a table of 4, yet they were putting 2 guests on tables set for 4 that came in after us (yes we had a booking).
Apart from this minor inconvenience, the food was to die for! Would love to take one of the Chefs home permanently!!!

Food was good. The menu should be more explicit of what is in each dish. The portion of the soup is too generous for starter, which is more suitable as a main. The baked camerbert was so good. I had to cancel the cauliflower since I could not possibly fit in my stomach. If the soup is smaller, I would be able to.
I've booked this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We stayed at Four Seasons Hotel so it was very convenient to have dinner within the hotel. The service was outstanding. We were asked if we had a special occasion and then offered some very nice Prosecco. The hand sanitiser was ready on the table and all the staff wore face masks.
The food was very tasty and nicely presented. My husband had the steak and it was very very tasty. I had beautiful grilled snapper with a very tasty sautéed spinach with pine nuts. The dessert frozen pavlova was delicious.
We really enjoyed our celebration dinner and the chef and the staff made it very special for us.

We loved the wine, the oysters and the lamb shoulder. All such delicious dishes, but we feel that the steak should be seasoned with something and come with like mash or even a little salad on the side just to even put the portion sizes.
Our experience at the MODE Kitchen and Bar was absoutely amazing. Had amazing service from our waiter, the food amazingily delicious, the wine was exquisite and will be definitely coming back
We went to Mode for our anniversary dinner, and it was a nice experience.
Due to COVID the restaurant was not full and provided a nice ambiance. The Hotel is almost 40 years old, and I don't know if the restaurant was ever renovated, but it showed some age. Some might like it some might not. I was ok with the decor, but the lighting could do with some dimming.
We had the calamari salad and yellow fin tartare for entre, both were light and delicious. By light I mean they didn't add too much seasoning to overwhelm the core ingredients' orginal flavours.
For mains we had the snapper fillet and risotto with shaved truffle. The snapper had crispy skin and very tender, the side of spinach complimented it well.
The risotto was a disaster though, dispite the freshly grated truffle. The Arborio was undercooked and coarse like barley, the sauce was watery rather than creamy, and just tasted like rice in thick soup. Very disappointed.
Forgot the name but it was a cocktail with Laphroaig 10 in it and it was very nicely done. My partner had the Riesling and Sav Blanc by the glass and both were good.
Should you go? Yes (need to book), definitely worth a visit for a relaxing night out chit chatting with friends.
Just don't pick the risotto.
Great food. Perfectly cooked T-bone and veggies. Wait staff was pleasant but not the most attentive.
After reading reviews we decided to dine in the hotel as we were staying there. Unfortunately this turned out to be the wrong decision. Dining area is bland and boring, service was almost non existent and the menu was completely different to their website. My wife was served a flat glass of sparkling wine and struggled to find anyone to replace it. Was possibly one of our worst dining experiences in years.

Went to Mode for my birthday dinner with my wife and brother. The maitre d (which we didn’t get the name) and our waiter - Dilsham were both fantastic and had good recommendations for the menu. 5 stars for me!
