Black bass kinda ruined it… not eatable. Some of the dishes were good, everyone said scallops were incredible. For the price, wouldn’t go back.

The food was truly excellent. We had the tasting menu and each dish was fabulous. Service was superb and the satff were friendly and helpful. It really was a perfect experience. The only critism would be it eventually got quite loud as the restaurant filled up.

First time dining here. Have heard great things and we decided to try it out. Was seated right away and near a window as requested. The tasting menu changes seasonally. We had a total of 4 courses (starters, second, third, and desserts). Starters was hit and miss, but the star was definitely the cod croquettes. Personally the best course was the second. Both the mezzaluna and scallop were divine. You can’t go wrong with either one. The third left a lot to be desired, since it can be considered as the main course. The steamed bass with the fermented black bean (which was forgotten but was corrected by the staff) lacks umami and the veal loin also lack flavors beside the spicy harissa sauce. Wouldn’t have minded a another round of the second course to replace the third. The dessert was ok. The quartro leches cake wasn’t what I expected. Tasted like a Black Forest cake. The complimentary mango sorbet before desserts was excellent though. Service wasn’t on key for the price of the dining experience. The food runners were great and knowledgeable and described each dish. The server however rarely checked in on us and we were never offered another bottle of sparkling water. Overall we were satisfied with our dining and would come back to try it again when the menu changes.

It was a fine experience overall. However, while some dishes were fine, there were others that left something to be desired in terms of finesse. One such dish was the raw tuna with peas and sesame seeds, flavored with ponzu. While it was a simple offering, it leaned a bit too heavily on the side of understatement. On the other hand, their mezzaluna pasta was delightful. When it came to desserts, I couldn't help but feel that they could use an upgrade. The wine pairings were fun and enjoyable.

Overall experience was very good. The third floor dining area is small and quaint and nicely formal - except our table and the table next to us. We had a bare wood table that was uneven. The unevenness was fixed by the waiter but when I asked why we didn't have a crisp white table cloth like the other tables on the third level I was told that getting a round tablecloth wasn't easy. Really? The food and wine was exceptional. Their list of cocktails was small and focused. My "Bourbon" cocktail didn't really seem to have any bourbon just lemon and honey. My dining partners had "Rye" and commented that it was very good. The best course was #1 and the weakest was dessert.

We had the tasting menu. The theme was spring - and the details made it special. The fava beans in the sea bass were excellent and the black beans added salty flavor, the cod croquette had lovely fresh asparagus on top, and the snap peas on the tuna crudo gave it a crunch, and added a touch of green. The desert, a rhubartb ille flottantes, was light, and both sweet and sour. A successful dinner. Chef Dooley came to give us the sea bass, which was a nice touch and very hospitable. The staff were lovely, and they thanked us for coming. All in all, a great experience all around.

Excellent food - the sequence of dishes from small plates to main was perfect with carefully mixed flavors in each. Of note the wood sorrel vichyssoise, tuna crudo and steamed bass were my favorites and two of the wine pairings (recommended to include!) were notable - the cremant de Loire, and Pinot Noir in particular. The service was excellent, and the narratives accompanying food and wine were most helpful. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The downstairs bar offers a strong selection of cocktails, with plenty of options for those of us who like a bit of spice and our drinks not too sweet!

Disappointed as I expected better. Food was just okay, portions very small, entree was ice cold, not sure I liked limited choices. Did wine pairing and wines showed up after each course was almost finished. That's not wine pairing. Left kind of hungry.

The food was fantastic, creative and delicious. The service at times seemed a little bit overwhelmed, and while the decor is lovely, the noise was completely unbearable. It was impossible to have a conversation where we were seated, and frankly, by the end we were just eager to leave not sure I would go back unless the noise issue was addressed

We've dined here a few times and have always had great food and great service. The dining room can get moderately noisy when completely full, purely due to the people in there. If you want a really really quiet evening, schedule your reservation really early or really late. We ordered traditional drinks off menu (Cosmo and Tom Collins) and the bartender did an amazing job with them. Crisp and clean drinks clearly made with skill and passion for their work. Seats near the window let you people-watch on the streets below. Overall, we'll keep coming here.

Diane and I just enjoyed our first Boston indoor dinner in a long long time, having been super-COVID conscious in light of family visits and the like. Well, it was so worth waiting for: a genuine dining experience! Not that any meal out is to be scoffed at—but this kind of hospitality, culinary excellence and wine service is truly a celebration by any standard of comparison. Who even thinks to serve, e.g., grapes like Roter Veltleiner and a light-bodied Grenache from Santa Barbara?! Brilliant. From the very start… The greeting was warm and personal; the waitstaff was seamless in its team approach to our table of four. They all genuinely enjoyed their jobs. And the room just exuded good vibes for the entire extended evening! Kudos to the whole team. We’ll be back again and again!

Fantastic culinary delights prix fixe dinner and a great deal for $115 per person. Went with my husband for dinner. What we loved: The first course, each person, had all 4 items: oysters, fluke hand roll, branzino crudo, and foie gras mousse with grilled sourdough bread. All 4 items were great. The crudo was a favorite. The balance of the flavors and the texture of the fish was just perfect! For the second course, I had the shrimp and pork dumplings in stew. It is a deconstructed dish with the dumpling skin separate from the shrimp and pork filling. The highlight was the broth which had a ton of depth and flavor. My husband had the curried sable fish and he said that the curry flavor was delicious. Third Course - we both had the Tamarind Chicken Thighs, loved the textural contrast between the chicken, the pickled carrots, and the crispy quinoa. Dessert - I had the Chocolate Soufflé with Ice Cream. The Ice Cream had a bit of chili sauce and peanut mole. It was surprising and very good. My husband had the Rice Pudding which he thoroughly enjoyed. Loved the little extra touches: coconut passion fruit sorbet (palate cleanser served before dessert), guava fruit pate (after dessert), and the curry spice mix to take home. The sorbet and guava fruit pate were extra delicious! A truly memorable and enjoyable meal. As the menu is seasonal, can't wait to return to try the next new seasonal menu!

Thanks to the Boston Globe for leading us to this astounding restaurant. Everything — (except noise level from large group…but difficult to control in such a quaint space) — absolutely everything was incredible. This is a brilliant, inspired, and exceptionally creative chef. Incredible to find in this day and age of over saturation and over indulgence. His innovations were thought provoking and original. I only wish we lived closer to explore his new creations every six weeks as he changes the menu. Bravo
