John Morrissey gave up the ghost while sitting at the old Adelphi Hotel bar. We dedicate this establishment to his spirited history, and we think he'd have a damn good night here with us.

First time here. We didn’t regret it at all. The place is beautiful and the food is amazing .
I will start by saying that our server was excellent and very personable. The appetizer (steak tartare tacos) and our diner (filet and delmonico) both delicious. We opted for the blackberry pie for desert which was a bit odd tasting and underwhelming. The mint ice cream tasted like it came from Stewart’s, I suppose I was expecting something a bit more homemade and not green.
The biggest disappointment was with the reservation and seating. Even though we had made reservations several days prior, our table was not ready when we arrived. We were told 5-10 minutes, after 10 minutes they tried to convince us to sit outside in 40 degree temps, we declined, 10 minutes after that they tried to get us to sit at the bar, this was a special event for us, do we declined that as well. The next 10 minutes was spent with the hostess saying that there system had messed up and overbooked and generally trying to avoid eye contact with us as we sat in the lobby. We were never even offered an apology. I understand that mistakes do happen, but the 30+ minutes spent just sitting in a lobby while paying the babysitter and basically having them be annoyed that we didn’t want to sit outside in the cold was a bit frustrating.
Luckily the food and our amazing server made up for our first impression.
Service was a little slow, though he was pleasant our waiter. Food was delicious. Enjoyed the ambiance of the place
Amazing food! From the mushroom soup to the crabbed stuffed artichoke!
Sushi was not as good as expected. Wine was very expensive. Overall, meh...
Food was blah and not the quality we were expecting. Our server barely engaged with our table, and never offered refills on waters and coffee. The atrium was lovely to dine in, but sadly that was only the truly nice thing about our meal. Unfortunately we chose to entertain out-of-town guests here and we all left underwhelmed.
the food was good but the service was horrible. from the very moment we checked in when the host disappeared to find us a table to when we finally got seated in the bar area and our server seemed to be overwhelmed and more interested in talking to the guy next to us who apparently was somebody and knew everyone.
Great birthday pops to celebrate a fun occasion! Service was excellent, exemplified after we knocked over a glass of wine and planned a secret birthday surprise! Our go to spot in Saratoga!
Very pricy for food provided. However would visit again. Nicely spaced out and service was good
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here for Easter. Everything was prepared very well and we spent several hours eating and enjoying our time. We will definitely go back or recommend to others.
Would return in a heartbeat! Very relaxing! Service and food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect! Thank you
We had an amazing dinner three weeks ago but was underwhelmed with brunch. Did not care for really any of the food-lobster bisque tasty fishy and not rich and creamy. Eggs Benedict and ham lackluster as well.
We may try dinner again but not brunch.
The food was excellent and our waiter was amazing. Overall a decent experience but we waited almost 30 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation. I know the restaurants in the Adelphi are shuffled around right now due to COVID, but we were seated in a back room area (kind of resembled a conference or event room) which provided for a weird ambiance.
Called twice to make a reservation and with no return call made it online. Slow service. Hair on the floor. Not swept. Not clean. Ordered the corn beef sandwich. Dry! Nothing on it but chunks of corn beef. Fries were cold.
So disappointed! Totally embarrassed to have invited people to join me there.
We sat in the atrium and it was beautiful. The ambiance, the food, the service... all incredible. Perfect date spot or dining spot for a nice family occasion. I plan on going back often.
Bar activity was amazing. Love the ambiance. Food was delicious but not hot. Service at the table was so-so
always great service. always a great energy to the space. the food, once again, was good but not matching the rest of the intended elevated experience.
We had a great meal. 6pm seating was great for more space between diners. Space began filling up at 7:30. Food , drinks and service were top notch
We had such a great experience, having gone in this past Sunday for dinner, drinks and desserts while we were staying at the hotel. The staff was amazing. Our waitress, Cassidy, was kind, considerate, attentive and simply wonderful. The food was great and the drinks were as well. Everyone was so amazing. We will be back!
Great food and a freindly staff that go out of their way to make your dinign experience enjoyable.
We ordered the sushi, it was prefect. Service was very good.
While the food here was tasty I don't think I'll return for brunch. The service is pretty bad. We stood in front of the hostess for a good 5 minutes, no exaggeration. She was on the phone helping someone make a reservation, but didn't look at us to acknowledge our presence. She kept her face down and even blocked us from her peripheral by covering her eyes. It was super odd. Eventually two more reservations came in behind us and she didn't acknowledge any of them either so all of us stood around waiting to be helped.
It took 15 minutes for our waiter to come take our drink order too, again not an exaggeration. I only know this because I shot a text to our babysitter when we were seated and sent her a second message letting her know it might be longer than we expected b/c we hadn't been seen so I had a time stamp to actually see when we had finally been seen. After the waiter arrived, he would only take our drink orders even though we had plenty of time to know what we wanted. It took another 10 minutes to get our drinks. It was like this for everything. From start to finish, my husband and I were at the restaurant for 2.5 hours...for brunch.
The food was great. We had a hard time deciding what we wanted b/c the menu was SO interesting. I almost wish brunch could be take out. The wines by the glass are overpriced. I appreciate good wine, but the pours didn't hit the emblem marker in the glass so either we got the last bit in the bottle and the bartended didn't want to open a new one or he wasn't paying attention. I would have said something, but we had already been there so long I didn't want to risk waiting for a better pour.
It was unfortunate. We were excited to try it but wouldn't go back.
The waiter was great and attentive. The food was amazing. Delicious and perfect amount. Atmosphere was so relaxing. Such a great birthday dinner for my husband.
Saturday morning brunch.
Positive Covid experience - masks and proper distancing.
Kitchen was either under-staffed or overwhelmed.
We went with a party of five to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday. We ordered mostly appetizers, including the fondue. We did order one or two main dishes as well for everyone to pick at. Every dish was outstanding and the cocktails were great! We had a phenomenal time!
Food was incredible and service was quick but our waitress was rude
Ordered a bottle of Prosecco from Conegliano, Italy from the menu while seated at the bar. Bartender opened the ‘house’ Prosecco, which is of an inferior quality, without first showing us the bottle and tried to pass it off
as the bottle we had ordered. We rejected it and ordered a glass of wine each, which ended up being ‘on the house’. The mushroom crepe was tasty but the sushi was not the freshest, by any means.
Overall experience not that great.......
Doubt we will ever return.
We had a beautiful brunch in the sunny bistro room. Will definitely be back
The setting was beautiful, the food and wine were good. The service was cold. The server took our order but then disappeared and never came back to check. We had a long wait for the food, during which our server was nowhere to be found and all the others vigorously avoided eye contact until someone else finally brought out the food. Our briefly showed up to take the desert order but did not offer to show a desert menu or offer any suggestions. For a restaurant of this caliber one expects more attentive and knowledgeable service.
We love Morrissey's and visit every time we're in Saratoga! We were happy to be able to enjoy the pop-up menu from Salt and Char on our trip this past weekend.
Celebrating our 27th anniversary and we went to Saratoga to celebrate. Salt and Char was under renovation but the app had us to next to to Go to dinner and still be able to utilize the limited menu from salt and char. The waiter seemed overwhelmed because the restaurant was extremely busy and crowded. When he set the menu down it wasn’t the one for salt and char that I was looking forward to when I asked he seemed bothered that I wanted their menu, but he got over it. He was very confusing explaining menu choices. For the food and the quality the prices were high. Bad experience!!! I would not go back
Worst service in town.
Left empty glasses on tables but took our plates.
Server checked on us once.
Took 20 mins before taking drinks order.
Will not recommend to family or friends.
Will not be retuning.
Loved the atmosphere, eclectic menu and excellent food and service. Will definitely be back!
Good was fresh and well done. Cocktail choices were fun, and of good quality. Our poor waiter was sweet and attentive, but definitely overwhelmed with the amount of tables.
J am a local and have been loyally supporting this restaurant since it reopened. First off the manger or other employees at this point don’t even act as if they know me or that I am loyal customer. Now that it is more crowded they show no attempt to accommodate me as a regular to find me a table. I was just there to drop in and sit outside there were 5 empty table snd they wouldn’t seat me because I don’t have a reservation. Nor did they care that I am a regular or even notice. It seems it would be wise for them to keep some free table to accommodate locals dropping in. It is not fun to live where we have reserve in order to spontaneously have lunch or dinner especially on a Tuesday.
Great food, drinks, and people watching. Morrisey's and the Adelphi never disappointing and is quintessential old Saratoga.
We had to wait a bit even with a reservation. The staff was wonderful and promised it wouldn't happen again. We LOVE the sushi. Best in Saratoga!
Excellent meal and attentive service!
After coming up to Saratoga for over twenty years, we were first timers at Morossey’s. It was a great dishing experience. The food, drinks, and ambience were all great!
All was good, but the service was slow. Was going to see a movie and had to leave dessert uneaten because the mains took so long (almost an hour.) No excuse either as the place was practically empty.
