I heard mixed reviews about this place do wanted check out for myself. I expected better food. My husband had Inn hamburger and it looked like it was a frozen patty cooked, perfectly round like get in grocery store, it clearly wasn't fresh. He said didnt taste freshly made. I had pretzel and cheese dip. Pretzels which looked exactly like the super pretzel bought in grocery store in frozen section. Also had Cobb salad but they it was ok chicken over cooked. The service was good , was attentive ,until it got busy. We both agree we wouldnt go back and wouldnt recommend.
Thank you for the honest review, Monica. I believe we spoke via Facebook already, but wanted to acknowledge your review here as well. I'm very sorry to hear about the poor quality of your meals; While we don't keep our patties frozen, we are always trying to serve the best, most fresh dishes we can, I apologize that this clearly was not the case this time. I will forward your comments to our kitchen manager. We appreciate feedback like this so our restaurant can keep getting better as a whole.
New Tear’s Eve and s birthday celebration
Thank you for the review, glad to see everything was enjoyable for you. Happy New Year!
My favorite place in Mt. Airy. Reasonable prices and the only place our vegetarian (mostly vegan) family can all eat at that isn't in Frederick or Columbia. It's also the only restaurant where I leave feeling full!!
Thank you for the review, this is so great to hear! We strive to be able to accommodate a wide variety of diets, and are very happy to know we can make your dining experiences enjoyable and easy. Hope to see you again soon!
We went on a Wednesday evening to take advantage of their Prime Rib special - a good decision since the meal was excellent - we will go back on a Wendesday evening - and will probably try out other times as well!
Thank you for the review, Frank! Happy to hear you're enjoying our Prime Rib. We look forward to seeing you on another Wednesday in the near future!
Awesome brunch! Hostess told me they don't accept Open Table Reservations, FYI.
Thank you for the review, StephanieB! We definitely accept OpenTable reservations- we'll send a message to our host staff to make sure everyone is aware of this, as we have hired some new staff recently. Thank you for letting us know about this. Look forward to seeing you again soon!
Pizza dough was a little raw, everything else was fine though.
Thank you for the feedback, we'll keep an eye on that. Hope next time everything is 100% fantastic!
We eat here quite frequently , however usually very early for either dinner or breakfast. This is the first time my food was not up to their usually great standards. I the steak was cook perfectly , hot, flavorful. The mash potatoes Luke warm at best, the asparagus was old, the hollandaise sauce was warm but had cold watery crab placed in the middle... hopefully just a fluke, they were very busy...
Made a note on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. It would have been nice if the staff acknowledges that.
Great place for lunch
Food was excellent. Wife and I both had brick-oven pizza. Dessert was good but probably not made on site. I had a flight of 5 different beers, really enjoyed 4 of them. Many of their beers are from local or nearby breweries, which I think is a great thing for restaurants to do. Restaurant was not crowded and had a variety of seating options (booth, table, bar, bar tables, and outdoor seating). Noise level was normal, ambiance was friendly with nice decor and local pictures on the wall. Staff was very friendly. Restaurant is clean, and seems like parts of it have been renovated sometime in last year or two. Overall a good experience and a place my wife and would drive to again in the future.
First time at this restaurant, would go back again.
The Mount Airy Inn is a delightful oasis just off of Route 70.
Finding the front door is a bit tricky but once you so the food was delicious with ample portions and a nice atmosphere. Our waiter, Bo, was a delight!! We will be back!!
The food is always good. The cream of crab soup was excellent! Our server, Karen, is the best!!!!
Food was great and our server Bo was excellent made the evening very enjoyable.
We were shown to a table promptly. The drinks were served quickly. While some of our choices were not available, others were, and were enjoyed. The cream of crab soup was excellent. It could have been even better if served with sherry, as is often the case. There were many interesting entrees, but the special was Prime Rib that night, and three of us enjoyed that special, while the fourth chose another favorite. The portions were large and perfectly prepared to our orders. Dessert options all sounded delicious, and we enjoyed the large portions to finish our special meal. Some of us needed boxes to take some home. Our server was attentive, but did not rush us, and we felt his welcome and his interest in having us enjoy our meal.
This was our first time at Mt Airy Inn and the whole group loved it. We were very impressed that our table was ready upon arrival with a glass of water for each of us plus a bowl of cut lemons! The service was outstanding and the food delicious. We appreciated the separate checks. Thanks for a great dining experience.
Surprised....really good dinner values, the steak tips were done perfectly at a great price. The fire roasted oysters were outstanding
Waiter was fantastic! Food was really good. I ordered a bacon, lettuce, and Turkey sandwich. So much Turkey I could hardly bite into it and very fresh. I will certainly go back!
As always, the Mount Airy Inn was warm, welcoming and full of delicious choices on the menu. The friendly staff are ready to help with recommendations when asked, and everything is fresh and tasty.
Ordered crabcake which I don't think was crab. First time I left half of a crabcake for the trash. Save your money and don't order.
Great food, great service and they take reservations unlike many other restaurants these days. Our food was on the table in about 20 minutes after ordering and the serving sizes were very generous, even the kids meals. Very diverse beer menu and they also offer 6oz flights so that you can taste test before picking your favorite. We will definitely be adding Mt. Airy Inn to our restaurant rotation.
First time at restaurant...Service and servers were outstanding...Food was good; nothing special.
You get what you’re paying for. No surprises.
Great neighborhood gem. Great prices, all day breakfast. Large portions large selection.
One of those meals where nothing was bad (though my prime rib was well beyond the medium rare ordered), but there was nothing great about it. We'll go back, but would not go here for a special occasion.
Good food great service my wife loved the pizza
