Since its beginnings as a local gathering spot over 35 years ago, Mustards Grill has blossomed into a destination for all who appreciate memorable food, superb wines and a warm welcome. Mustards food is Chef/Owner Cindy Pawlcyn’s mix of American regional dishes with global influences. The list of “Way Too Many Wines” represents the best from appellations throughout California and the New World.
Mustards is an American Grill, featuring flavors from around the globe. The wood-burning grill produces such favorites as Cindy’s famous Mongolian Pork Chop, Sonoma Rabbit, and the ½ pound Niman Ranch hamburger. The oakwood smoker fills the restaurant with aromas of BBQ baby back ribs, Wood Oven Duck, and our Oooeee Smoked Pork. Specialties include Seared Ahi Tuna on sesame crackers and Crispy Calamari tossed with curried slaw. The eclectic wine list features Way Too Many Wines from The Napa Valley, Sonoma, The Oregon, and Europe!
Great meal, excellent service. Only wish I could eat/drink twice as much. But seriously, Mustards Grill still has the right stuff when it comes to dining in the Napa Valley. My guests enjoyed everything as did I.
We booked with another couple to celebrate our wedding anniversary! We had heard good things about Mustard’s Grill. Unfortunately, the ambiance was quite poor.Acoustics extremely poor. We could not even have a conversation as the noise level was extreme. We had brought it to our waitress’ attention several times and she acknowledged it but did nothing to diffuse the situation. We voiced our displeasure with the manager and he apologized but did not leave us with a good feeling. We left the establishment very disappointed vowing never to return ! Seems the management does not value ALL its customers .
The entire staff was welcoming, especially our waitress, Mo!! Winning personality and fun!! Stellar service from the entire team. Will definitely return.
Wine Drinking Team
Food is delicious. Drinks are delicious. Plenty of options that aren't wine. The restaurant was very accommodating to us but it did come at a hefty price. They kept the same $25 price tag on the pasta dish that we asked to make vegetarian. A small side of corn bread was $6. Other than that it was amazing and I will continue to go back. This was not my first visit and certainly won't be my last. Just me warned it is not a cheap place.
Mustard's is my favorite restaurant and I was disappointed this time. The calamari appetizer was drowning in the shredded cabbage salad with very few pieces of calamari to be found, the pork chop was thin and small, the bread for the table was an afterthought and the portion was skimpy, the lime/lemon pie was the only thing than hadn't been reduced in size or quality. The waiter was fantastic, personable, attentive and took very good care of us.
The food was excellent. Try the onion rings (actually onion straw), you will not be disappointed. I heard great things about the food and they lived up to their reputation. Make sure you have a reservation, even at lunch.
Mustards is a genuine Napa Valley institution. On the down side it was quite noisy when I dined there. On the upside the food was very good at a reasonable price and the service was friendly and attentive. I had the Mongolian pork chop which was delicious and I would recommend it to all.
Visiting Napa from out of town. Heard good things about Mustards Grill and read good reviews. We weren’t disappointed. The three of us all got different drinks, appetizers and entrees. All were excellent. Service was friendly but a little slow because they were so busy. But it was cool cuz we weren’t in a hurry. Just enjoying our evening.
The menu is still gathering classic Napa Valley menu of years gone by. The pork chop. The great lamb. But...not a single vegetarian option? And somehow, even at hefty price points, waaay to many infants. And entitled parents. And the service was ultimately sort of only ok...
We do not go to San Francisco without driving up to Mustard's for lunch...and that's been the case for a dozen visits over the last 20+ years. They have achieved a great balance...holding steady with what works while updating as needed. And always quality ingredients. For some reason, you can't find onion rings like that anywhere else. Clearly, they are conjured out of thin air, since the recipe escaped inclusion in the cookbook! BBQ pork sandwich was spot on...tangy, not overly sweet, dynamite pork, good slaw, great pickles. Only disappointment was that my husband didn't think to ask them to separate the soft shell crab from the rest of the fish tostada...he felt the excellent beans and other ingredients brought down the perfectly cooked soft shell by making it soggy. Chocolate hazelnut tart is likely one of the best chocolate desserts for someone who likes dark (not milk) chocolate and coffee. We have always loved the staff...clearly they are encouraged to allow their personalities to shine and not be pretentious automatons. Thank you for being...well...Mustards.
Riley was sensational. As an old restaurant manager and now a buyer in the wine business, I can tell you Cindy and crew that she was beyond delightful. Her smile and service and the splendid food made my birthday dinner very memorable and special. Okay, the tasty Hall Cabernet assisted in our delight.
Not an auspicious building! The food was innovative, of good quality and very well presented.
Our waiter was most friendly, professional and efficient.
In keeping with the apparent CA norm, the food and wine were (in the opinion of 2 Europeans) quite overpriced. Overall a good dining experience....but at a price.
Was disappointed , had heard good things but our 8:15 reservation & 9:00 closing must have conflicted
our server. The signature Pork Shop was initially served raw , returned and the rest of the plate was returned with cold food & warm chop.
It seemed that everyone in restaurant was hurrying to close.
We were looking for a NAPA experience, not there.
Amazing restaurant! It came highly recommended. We had a fantastic meal with a great bottle of wine.
Terrible. Our reservation was honored with the worst seat in the house. There were two other tables for 2 that apparently we weren’t good enough for. There calamari is the worst in Napa. The waitress never brought to our attention the blackboard behind me the daily specials. Avoid this restaurant. There are much better in Napa
Mustards Grill is everything we expected. Good ambiance. Excellent service.
The Mongolian Pork Chop is a must if you like chops. The food overall is top notch and we go to Mustards every time we visit the valley.
Excellent service but it was very chaotic. People were waiting in line blocking the entrance, very little space to navigate between tables. Ingredients were fresh and excellently prepared (we had the rabbit and the signature pork chop dish). Plenty of wine options, by the glass, half bottle and bottle. We'd return.
Great food, excellent service!
Arrived for an 8:15 reservation, was told it would be a 15-20 delay and were seated 45 minutes later. Then we sat for another 10 minutes before we even got water service.
Food is at best pedestrian.
The food was good with some creative entrees. The restaurant was a bit noisy so if you are looking for a quiet dining experience this may not be for you.
I took my husband there for lunch. We both enjoyed it very much. My BBQ ribs were a little tough but flavorful.
Our meal was outstanding...every dish we were served! Service was friendly and very attentive. Wines we chose were perfect!
Great food, great services, what else to expect? We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Mustard's Grill.
I absolutely love this place! I live in the NYC area and I am fortunate to be exposed to good food. I nevertheless look forward to eating in this special Napa haunt every year. The food is consistently tasty, fresh and creative. Service is efficient and always pleasant. The pork chop is a fan favorite but I really enjoyed the rabbit as well.
Best cheeseburger ever! Bloody Mary was amazing but the onion ring stack.....YUM!!!
Can’t for the dessert!
Excellent food and service as always. This is our must stop for Napa.
Pork Chop was delicious, everything else was ok. It was very busy and noisy, but more or less expected this based on how popular this restaurant is.
Great food. Exceptional service and a wonderful atmosphere. We had a great time. Lonnie our server was amazing!!! We definitely plan on returning in the future.
Business and a special occasion were wrapped together perfectly at this celebratory lunch. Came from the city, and Mustards is always a treat. Great food, garden-to-table, and excellent service from rezzie to dessert. Recommend.
Terrific in every way except just a little high noise level
Great food and service
Outstanding meal, with great service.
This was our third time visiting Mustards and the food was outstanding, as it always is. We had crab cakes for a starter that were loaded with crab and enjoyed excellent Hunan chicken salads that were very tasty and very filling. We finished up with an amazing lemon meringue pie. A very enjoyable lunch, our best in the area!
Great dinner, server was very knowledgeable. The calamari appetizer was the best calamari I’ve ever had and the salmon entree was good as well. Id recommend this place to anyone.
Always a pleasure to visit this place! Glad we were able to get in!
It's a regular spot for us. We always look forward to dining at Mustards.
Great Service and Great Food! Mustards Grill is my new favorite place to dine when in Napa!
My wife and I first visited Mustards in 1984. Over the years, there have been changes to the menu, prices have gone up (understandably) and servers have come and gone. What hasn't changed is the quality of the food and service.
