The Hokusetsu Brewery on Sado Island in the Sea of Japan has been operated by the Hazu Family Since 1871. The Name "Hokusetsu", or "Northern Snow", was chosen to reflect the ideal sake brewing conditions on the island during the coldest days of winter. Chef Nobu first experienced Hokusetsu sake when his Japanese rock-musician friend brought a bottle to the original Matsuhisa Restaurant in Beverly Hills. Impressed by the quality, Nobu obtained exclusive rights to sell Hokusetsu sake in the United States

Excellent service, mostly excellent food. I have two complaints though (we were there for Sunday buffet lunch): 1) For such a high-end restaurant, the tables (we were on a two person table) are too close to each other. About a 15 inch gap is not enough, especially considering people are getting up and sitting down again regularly to/from the buffets. 2) For the buffets, the sushi and sashimi are not kept chilled/cold. I'm sure everything was quite fresh but the texture of the fish begins to suffer and it dries out faster if left at room temperature. Both my wife and I noticed this - very good but not great sushi as a result. Otherwise, there is much to recommend, with hot dishes prepared fresh (and are still unlimited - I had the wagyu beef three times!). I liked in particular: The tempura prawn in mild spicy sauce, black cod, sea bass with cilantro, and wagyu beef steak. Oh, and leave room for dessert . Actually, don't worry, there's always room for dessert! 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Not much variety at the buffet for both the sushi and dessert. The crispy rice was cold, hard and chewy - even when we got the new serving that just came out of the kitchen. The chicken was cold and hard as well. We asked for a corner seat next to the window when we booked a month ago but got seated right next to the buffet in the centre aisle which was quite unpleasant with many people walking up and down and the constant smell of the tobanyaki from the kitchen. Ventilation wasnt very good.

Food was overpriced and lacking in quality. The California rolls and soft shell crab maki were so subpar that we left some behind even though we were still hungry. Cod was rubbery and dry as well. The desserts were the only saving grace of the night.

Worse Omakase I had in my life. This cant be classified as Omakase. It's like a set meal picked from their a la carte menu. And was not served being served seasonal food or sashimi, which supposed to be, and not even the basic like Uni or truffle. The sushi was average, and one of them had a fishy smell. This was disappointed, and the price was not even worth it.

Food was not the best to say the least. Had high hopes to try Nobu in Singapore knowing how renowned it is worldwide. I was not impressed and was verd disappointed with the food, many other fine dining restaurants fair much better, and this might’ve been one of my worst experience. Service was mediocre but can be much better. The manager was great to be interested in knowing how they can do much better. Suffice to say I would not be back. The noise level is definitely a little loud for a fine dining restaurant, making it hard to hold conversation within my tabel without talking loudly

It was my 1st time at Nobu SG, I must say that the service was amazing especially waitress Lila who was very prompt in her service and knowledgeable! The other waiters were also very polite and smiley and food was served very fast! I was pretty amazed and the sushi and sashimis were very fresh too! Thumbs up! The entire experience was amazing! The food was too good and we enjoyed every single dish, definitely worth the visit!
