What Insiders Are Saying
We fell in love with Norah immediately, but then realized we we're better off friends.
The service was phenomenal. Our server was attentive, helpful with our dietary restrictions, and made great recommendations. Can't wait to come back. If you drink alcohol, the Oaxacan Sour is a winner.
One of the CUTEST reataurants in LA. The food is delicious (the cornbread is A MUST) and the atmosphere is fantastic. The servers were all incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely be back!
From a girl falling off a chair at the next table and crashing into one of my guests, to having to flag down the waitress every time I wanted another pour off the bottle of wine I ordered, this was a let down. We went to dine, not dance, and the music was so loud as to make conversation challenging. The food was OK. Gnocchi in truffle sauce, had no taste of truffles and the cream sauce was VERY heavy.
Amazing dining experience
Great first date spot
Most of the items ordered were well prepared but abysmal service levels. Not likely to return.
I have been to Norah's many times - and it is always excellent - highly recommended with no reservations.
bad service across the board. b
The menu is to small. Not enough meal choices. The portions shoukd alo be slightly larger.
The ambiance at Norah is incredibly romantic. Unfortunately, we were seated right next to the kitchen door, which opens frequently. It was as if someone was shining a flashlight in our faces every 30 seconds because it was so much brighter inside the kitchen. To make matters worse, we sat at our table for nearly 10 minutes without anyone coming to talk to us. When she did finally come by, our server was obviously overwhelmed and provided lackluster, rushed, impersonal, and inadequate service. After we paid our bill, we asked the hostess to speak to a manager. In some sort of very obvious con game, the hostess brought our server to speak with us, the very person we were trying to complain about. She greeted us with, "Oh it's you....," and she couldn't remember what table we were sat at, despite her dropping off our paid bill 60 seconds earlier.
The food was delicious. The space is lovely. But I probably won't return and I CERTAINLY will NOT recommend.
The food was fantastic (especially the cornbread and truffle gnocchi) but unfortunately the service was subpar. Our server was not attentive at all and the timing of the dishes left something to be desired. The two of us ordered 5 different dishes and they all came out at almost the same time. I was taking the last bite of the dish in front of me (my fork was literally on the plate) and the busser came over right at that moment to ask if I was done so he could clear the plate (clearly I wasn't). We felt rushed and were very disappointed with the service but the food is definitely worth it. Delicious!
Our server Danny was so friendly and great! Norah is where my bf and I go on special occasions since we love it so much. The corn bread, eggplant & cauliflower, black truffle potato gnocchi and spiced rubbed chicken- all favorites we always have to get! Love this place!
The best food I’ve had in a while! The hostess seated my friend, as the other two of us were severely late. They were so accommodating. I didn’t order anything but an entree, which was delicious! And all the appetizers including a salad that my waiting friend ordered for us were outstanding! I love Norahs!
It was very good!
We came here for Valentine's Day and enjoyed it immensely. It was the regular menu -- no prix fixe. The cornbread is indeed special and worth ordering. The homemade ricotta is also delicious. The food all had special, Mediterranean, North African tastes and I look forward to going back. The only reason I did not give a higher service rating is because they did not time the main courses well. I was brought my main course (gnocchi with truffle) way before the vegetable side dish, and then even longer before my husband's main course (pork chop). Everything was brought out by different people -- as if staff just pick up what they see on the line and bring it out regardless of the rest of the table. I wish they had brought everything out at once. Other than that, it was lovely evening, and I'm glad I live in the neighborhood and can go easily.
We waited over 30 minutes for our table when we had a reservation. Finally sat down and ordered our food. 15 minutes goes by and we are told they have no more of the entree I ordered so I had to order something else. Then another 15/20 minutes goes by and we’re told they have no more of the entree my friend ordered so he had to order something else. We asked to be comped something for the inconvenience and the waiter said he would comp our drinks...we all got iced teas and said that it’s basically flavored water. He then agreed to comp our appitizers after we argued a bit. The overall experience was frustrating. Not to mention there was a band playing that was extremely loud.
Ambiance was cute with the live music playing in the background. I went for a girls brunch, which I would typically recommend, however, the service was by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. I realize they may have been understaffed, but when it takes over an hour and half to receive simple appetizers like fries, I’d say there’s an issue. Took almost two hours for avocado toast and plain scrabbled eggs to be set on the table. Which, by the way, eggs were cold when delivered. Our server was kind enough to remove the items that took too long to be received. Overall the food was good and the ambiance was enjoyable, but I don’t know that I would go back.
too noisy to enjoy the good food. Need to turn OFF the music
Extremely disappointed with the seating, our table location within the restaurant was really bad! We were seated in the very back, dark corner, unable to enjoy any of the atmosphere or the interior design. Our server was great, knowledgeable and recommended good appetizers and main course. Cocktails were just ok.
Absolutely delicious! Every item we had was perfection. Cornbread, gnocchi and shrimp were the highlights
This is a great spot. Room has energy but has tables in some darker nooks and crannies that make it seem special. All the entrees were excellent from pasta to fish to chicken. Well crafted cocktails and desserts. Attentive staff. Highly recommended.
Everything great but our table for two was against a pillar I could not look past.
Delicious food and very good service in an upscale environment in West Hollywood. Reservations recommended, especially for weekends and holidays.
The food is pricy and the portions are small but the flavors are amazing. The place is so stylish and has a great ambience. The margarita is hands down the best drink ever. The sea bream was flavored amazingly.
It was great!
Not a fan of having to ask for every condiment, drinking coffee out of dof glasses, too tiny selection of milk products (i.e. no whole milk lattes) dirty dishes left on tables
We really enjoyed our evening at Norah. The servings were small, but we shared and absolutely every thing was delicious. Creative and fresh, looking forward to going again!!
Very beautiful setting and versatile menu. Will be back.
Service was about the least amount of effort.
highly recommend the cornbread and ricotta cheese as appetizers. great restaurant and awesome service.
Great food for a good price and pleasant atmosphere. You get what you pay for and more.
Our favorite restaurant in LA! Such amazing food, great wine list, funky decor, not too stuffy. Love it
We've been to Norah at least 4 times previously. Each experience is wonderful. The menu is interesting; the crowd is eclectic; the staff is attentive but not intrusive. Norah is known for their skillet corn bread...you have to try that.
Portions are served family style, although you can get a serving for just yourself. 3 of us shared the pork, chicken and pasta for our mains. All three were outstanding. I'm leery of ordering pork chops in restaurants b/c they tend to be very dry. Not Norah's...it's juicy and tender. The chicken has a refreshing Med taste...they drizzle some yogurt over it and serve it on top of a piece of toasted flatbread...yummy!
We couldn't decide which dessert to try, so we tried all three. The chocolate cremuex has housemade marshmallow and almond brittle. The vegan peanut butter ice cream was luscious and the apple tart perfect.
You really can't go wrong with any of the choices here.
Good brunch but my tea and French toast weren’t hot at all, which was disappointing and possibly undercooked, yet they were tasty. The chicken sandwich was really good as well as the eggs Benedict said the other party members. Cute place, just the kitchen missed a bit on my food.
This place is a family style restaurant, so all of the food can be shared or eaten alone. My boyfriend and I had cornbread with honey butter (super delicious), roots and burrata vegetables, bolognese pasta (great taste, not what I was expecting), and poached prawns (really great sauce). We had an apple crispada for dessert. The ambiance was very romantic, with dim lighting throughout the restaurant.
Great interior design, ambience and nice staff, excellent cocktails. The menu is a bit limited and some items are not as good as they could have been for the price. One dish with bread, the bread was burnt, for example.
Everything was dope. It always is
New Years' Eve has got to be stressful for any restaurant. We were promptly seated for our 9:15 reservation, everything seemed festive and spot-on. We got a wonderful patio view table in the back near the kitchen. Our server was cheery and efficient. Delicious appetizers came out lightening quick, but something must have gone terribly wrong, because after a while, nothing seemed to be coming out of the kitchen. Two hours after being seated, still no mains... We said sorry, this is just not right. Let's settle up for what we got and we're out of here. My "what the heck happened?" email inquiry the next day went unanswered. Happy New Year and, sincerely, hope things work out OK.
