First time coming to this establishment, the service and food was excellent, a bit on the noisy side but you definitely get that genuine NY steakhouse experience. Happy overall.

We had a wonderful evening (company was amazing). However, despite direction/instruction...I had to remind the staff to bring a piece of birthday cake to my friend who we celebrated(clearly stated in my reservation). Also, waiter took barely touched lobster Mac and cheese after me asking TWICE that I wanted to wrap it.. not nice! Never returned with my Mac n cheese. Service is horrible!

Beautiful old NY place. Couch seating was uncomfortable. Cushions weak, sinking feeling. Food was very good. Excellent service. My usual drink, Rob Roy was not good after second re-order. We will try again down the road... thank you.

Fantastic experience all around

I was so excited to try this place after hearing from other people. My fiancé and I love trying new restaurants and will pay for good food. This place just missed the mark which was disappointing. Way too overpriced for the quality of the food. The clams lacked flavor and had way too muxh breading, the steak was just okay for an $85 steak and I got seabass that was mediocre.

I’ve had the opportunity to try a lot of steak houses in NYC and Old Homestead quickly rose to the top of my list. The food was amazing, tasted truly homemade, and the service was unmatched. Amazing waiters, runners, and greeting staff. They made us feel welcome and like family. I don’t remember all of their names but Caesar was wonderful. No snobby vibe like at some other steakhouses in the city. I strongly recommend visiting.

The food was excellent. The service was good, but a little tired, almost robotic. He literally complained about the tip in front of the entire table. We gave him more $ but didn't like that he felt entitled to it.

Great old steakhouse. Some things great. Some things, not so great. Oysters tasted like they had be schucked earlier in the day (water logged) chicken, shrimp, clams, etc excellent. Service spotty. Still, a NYC original.

Took my son for a steak for his 25th birthday, always wanted to try Old Homestead. The NY strip was everything you’d expect from a top notch NYC steak house, and cooked to perfection. Drinks, apps and sides were delish as well. Ambiance is a little plain, but the service is traditional and top notch.

Delicious meal, perfect steak, dessert, and impeccable service.

The room we sat in was very dark and gloomy. The steak was lukewarm not sizzling when it came out..

One should not have to eat stale bread with a 200 dollar dinner.

Crab cake app is the best thing on this menu!!! My Albanian waiter recommended it-I wish I had caught his name but he was great and I’ll definitely be back again.

This is a great traditional NY steakhouse. Everything as you'd expect, large portions of very good quality food. Service very efficient with lots of white table cloths and Italian waiters. But undoubtably the best part is the quality of the steak...which was top notch and after all, that is what is most important. Definitely worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Rude wait staff and management. Disappointed. Why spend this much when you can go to Keens, Wolfgangs, Strip House? A legendary establishment gone down the drain-fire current management.

We were so delighted to be able to go back to one of our favorites! Great "steakhouse" decor, wonderful waitstaff, amazing food and cocktails!

My wife and I got seated 30 minutes after our reservation. We didn't order wine or liquor and felt like we were not worthy of attention. Food was good but I woke up in the middle of the night to puke it all. Overall bad experience. I'm definitely not returning to this place

The place is great — we love old homestead. The guests are, overall, not very respectful of the masking requirements and, as I’m sure the restaurant doesn’t want to alienate its core customers, it overlooks those customers’ shortcomings. It’s too bad — I do think the restaurant’s staff did a nice job otherwise.

The food did not disappoint. Everything was delicious from start to finished. My husband got the Japanese Kobe A5 steak and he said it would just as good as when he had it in Tokyo. While the ambience was not what we expected - our table was tucked into a corner near a serving tray of dirty dishes, and gave us a view into the wait staff area - no candles or decor in the room we dined it - we understand that due to COVID, things may not be as they always are. If you want a great meal, give this place a try!

This was our first inside a restaurant dinner since March 2020 and I can’t say enough positive things about it. The food, the service and the ambiance are just as good as ever. Worth every penny.

The service was amazing and staff was very kind. The good however was awful 😢. I was every disappointed after I’ve waited weeks for my reservation and was so let down. Very bland food!

Went for a valetine’s day late lunch- the food was great, service was great, and we loved the ambient of the restaurant!
