Osteria 106

One of our favorites on the UWS. Delish food. The artichokes in a parmesan basket. YUM!!! Took a dish home to finicky daughter....ate in seconds. We also loved the Tiramisu..super creamy in a coffee mug. Perfect.

The food and service were excellent, and the wine list is really good too! Definitely a neighborhood gem. Can’t wait for Covid to end, so that we can eat inside the restaurant, as opposed to outside in 27 degree weather! Despite that, my friend and I split a few dishes, so that we could enjoy more menu options. It was all delicious.

This place is the best kept secret of the UWS. The food and service is amazing! Can't wait to come back!

Took advantage of outdoor dining for Valentine's Day. I'm very cautious about Covid and felt very safe dining outside here. The outdoor seating has plenty of airflow, but also has individual heaters by each table to keep guests warm. We've been here a few times and the food is always delicious and the service is excellent. Get the calamari for an appetizer.

Amazing food! Loved to cavatelli and the cod crostini really tasty too. Outdoor dining while a little loud on 106 street had plenty of air circulation (one while wall open - not closed in plastic) and lots of heaters - very comfortable temperature wise while still feeling safe. Looking forward to going back .

There are gas heaters on either side of your table- that really provide warmth.

Always a pleasure to be at Osteria 106!

We ate outside and although the temperature was in the 30s the heaters -- which are not overhead, but next to the tables -- were great. As always a thoroughly enjoyable experience and a neighborhood spot I'd hate to lose!

A lovely outside dining spot. They have a comfortable hut arrangement with adequate spacing, lovely atmosphere and space heaters. It is all very tasteful as is the food!!!

Osteria 106 has been a favorite of our whole family for quite some time now.
This was our first outing with their outdoor seating arrangement.

Yes, it was cold, yes it was different, but the food is still tremendous and Melissa and her staff are doing a incredible job against unforeseeable odds.

Found this place by googling Italian restaurants near me—-we loved it! The pasta with porcini mushrooms is FANTASTIC.

Quite literally the perfect restaurant.

My wife and I eat here for the first time this past weekend (mid December 2020). There is currently only outdoor dining in NYC thanks to our pathetic mayor - hence, we ate outdoors during this dining experience. The temperature that evening was hovering in the 28 degree range outside. I was a bit hesitant at first to diner outdoor in this rather frigid temperature -however, thankfully, my wife convinced me to do so.

The Osteria 106 had a small yet very welcoming outdoor dining area setup with space heaters to provide just enough warmth to take bite out of the cold. What ever warmth was not provided by the space heaters was amply bestowed upon us by the upbeat, amazingly friendly staff at this restaurant. I really can not emphasize enough how wonderful the staff was. They really did make our evening.

The food was sheer heaven. We had the Meatball app that was excellent. As an entree wife had the Butternut Squash Ravioli which she felt we quite possibly the best she's ever had. I had the Sliced Ribeye Steak with Mashed Potatoes which was done to perfection.

What I though was going to be a roughly half hour dining experience due to the cold turned out to be us staying and eating, drinking and chatting with the staff as well as other patrons for close to two hours. Just a brilliant experience.

This restaurant serves the tastiest food. The wait staff and owners care about the experience all customers have. Excellent wine list to complement the food.....and great Italian choices. Great quality for the price. Wonderful ambience inside and out.

Osteria 106 is the local Italian restaurant you feel blessed is in your neighborhood. Definitely encourage anyone who is not local too travel for this! Don't miss the grilled octopus, fettuccine bolognese, or tiramisu!

Great food and people. They has heaters but it was so windy they kept blowing out

We’ve been here twice in two weeks and this our new go to neighborhood restaurant. We were fortunate to have reservations for indoor dining. Good service, extremely clean, wine centric restaurant.

Family run by Italians not Italian-Americans; every detail is important. For starters we enjoyed the beet salad, arancini, and cheese stuffed peppers. The pasta dishes are delicious and made with the freshest ingredients.

Most recently we tried the lamb shank and Osso buco specials which were quite good.

Excellent wine by the glass. Homemade desserts. Quick service. There is nothing not to like.

1) food overpriced and small (for pasta)

2) two small heats for 8 tables outdoor - freezing zone. There were tables open near the heat but they said it’s for Party of 4 only. They won’t allow me and my partner to sit that table. - we just wanted to be warm and not be freeze.

3) I did not finish my appetizer and the busser came our table and took out our plates with food left.. I could not finish it :( .

4) service was horrible.

Overall, avoid this place... if you willing to pay a overprice pasta with bad service.

I LOVE this restaurant since it opened. The BEST Italian on the UWS.

I really don't believe in 5 star reviews, but I really have nothing to complain about with Osteria 106. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The arancini was the best we've ever had, the bottle of Montepulciano was terrific, the tortellini was fantastic, and the steak with arugula was very good. At the end they brought us a creme brûlée that was off the charts good. We walked away very happy with the experience and look forward to eating there again.

Outstanding food! They have charming tables set up outside for pandemic dining, and I'm told they have heaters for chilly nights. Lovely and knowledgable staff. The only downside is that on occasion you can smell hints of sewage odor, possibly from the damp basement. We were seated right near the cellar stairs. I'd guess tables out in the street enclosure wouldn't have that issue. Wonderful meal, and I'll be back!

Despite the covid situation, the restaurant atmosphere was very welcoming and romantic. They handle safety and welcoming environment successfully.
We really had a great time in the restaurant. We feel thankful these beautiful neighborhood restaurant gem surviving in the situation.

Appetizers were not good but the pasta was yummy.

Despite horrible weather we were looked after wonderfully. Under the cover of their outdoor dining, warmed by two gas heaters, the amazing Italian food and wine filled us up and warmed our hearts!
