Osteria Morini - New Jersey
We were so disappointed in our meals. We have dined there many times before and have always loved the food. The Calamari was chewy and we sent it back but it was still on the bill. The pasta was way undercooked. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday but I am sad one of our favorite restaurants was so bad.
Great food and lots of it! Wonderful service
Excellent spaghetti pomodoro , with a burrata on top is just the perfect combination
It is very disappointing that espresso is still unavailable.
Amazing food and service! Highly recommend
Can’t really complain about our waiter as he was doing his best but we have been coming here for years there is always something odd w the service it’s like the bar tender/ hostess/ waiter does everything so sometimes the service is good sometimes is not. The food is decent chopped salad really good. They redesigned it inside didn’t really help there is something off about this place not cozy and the lighting is weird. It is spaced out well though. The old couple next to use clearly drank to much and was coughing all over and being obnoxious. Waiter should of stopped the drinks. We will go back in another 6 months.
Espresso & Cappuccino not available again.
The food is quite spectacular. Really high-quality Italian food and not your typical "Jersey Italian". Due to Covid, the menu is somewhat limited, but certainly, plenty to choose from. Pasta is homemade, really excellent. Full bar, great wine list. The only thing we can't figure out is the "vibe". This restaurant has been through multiple "versions" over the last few years. Each time, the re-decorating gets worse and more boring. It used to be more elevated, white cloths and had an upscale feel. At the moment, it's really suffering from little style. Ignore the vibe and go for the food.
Fantastic short rib with potato’s
Signature branzino always delicious
This restaurant make the best pasta of any restaurant I’ve ever been to outside of Italy and they would still be competitive there. My wife and I love this place.
Waitress was truly exceptional, though I wish we’d known to ask to be seated in the main / bar area. They were great about getting us in - and the liveliness / ambiance of the front area is what we’ll request when we go back...
They told us to order food online so we did and they brought out the drinks apps and entrees all together!
Spectacular food and service. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. The staff and management care - and it shines through in all ways!
Yum. Cappelletti truffled ricotta ravioli and Pollo al Forno with Brussel sprouts and mushrooms are amazing. The chopped salad is so good that it’s crave worthy!
Dined indoors. Tables safely placed. Food was good but it came out immediately after we ordered it. No time to finish our before dinner drink! Was told it was so fast because there was no one else there! Would go back tho!!
Consistently reliable Italian food. The menu has great variation from delicious pizzas to tasty pasta dishes. Service is excellent.
Wonderful evening! Outdoor setup was great!, staff was attentive would definitely go back
I always have a great time here. During these difficult times with COVID-19 having the chance to dine here was a real treat.
Like the changes for sure! Reworked menu and decor changes inside make for a more enjoyable experience. Will definitely go back!
great food and service
The environment changed. It is dark and parts of the wall are black and it is too crowded. The delightful peasant environment with the open kitchen that made it our favorite restaurant is gone. The cheery and bright environment is gone. The food has changed so that you get too much and the prices are higher. Why would you ever get rid of half portions of pasta. We paid $20 more for the same but too much food. My favorite arugula salad is unrecognizable and TASTELESS. I feel like I lost a friend. Go back to original environment and food and just raise the price.
We know you have to make business decisions but we are really disappointed. We don’t want to change from our once favorite restaurant.
What a great night! The service was excellent, the food was delicious and they stayed open for us long after everyone else left. And the best touch: they had a card on our table wishing our friend a happy birthday!
Overall meal was good with a few exceptions. The calamari in the appetizer was cut very thick and it was tough and chewy. My husband’s steak was tasty but had unwanted fat and gristle on the edges. I had the salmon which was excellent. The sides included with the meal were outstanding- you could have made a meal of just them! As it was the day before Valentine’s Day I will give them a pass as multiple people could have had the day off. Our server was lovely by the way.
Best Italian we’ve had in NJ, hands down. Everything is incredibly delicious, the service is always friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is cozy. Highly recommend!
Being from New Jersey but living in Los Angeles, it’s a must that when I get a chance to go back to NJ I have to eat a good Italian meal and Osteria Moroni did not disappoint.
I was in Basking Ridge for a work trip and didn’t know where to go so I found this place on Yelp and was able to get a table. The place was surprisingly crowded for a Wednesday evening but we got seated at a great table and man was the food outstanding.
We split a pizza and I had the Chicken Parm, a dish I use to test all new Italian joints and all I could say was wow!
The portion was huge, the sauce was the perfect mix of sweet and tangy and the pasta it was served on top of was delicious.
Now I’m almost looking forward to my next business trip!!!
Best chopped salad we have ever had. Shared by 2 and still couldn’t finish. Chicken parm always reliable, tender and just the right amount of pasta. Truffle pasta still our favorite. Was not a busy night, waited 10 min to be seated and service is just slow. Slow getting a drink. Will go back for the food.
Very underwhelming to say the least. Food was average. Service was robotic.
We were there on New Years Eve not realizing that they had a $65 three course fixed price menu!
Always good food and attentive service. Was a Sunday night and surprisingly noisy. Also, they have removed curtains from the windows so when seated near the windows it can be quite chilly in the winter. Soundproofing or draperies would help.
Amazing place - love it every time. Food is amazing - fast and friendly service.
My mom’s 86 birthday.
Chopped salad is a must! So many wonderful flavors. Chicken Parm is always reliable. The shrim scampi was good, a little dry. Eggplant rollatini a was fantastic. Tables are a little cramped, it is difficult for servers to get around easily. Good value, a local favorite.
The food is excellent every time we go there. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality of the food. And overall great experience every time.
Service is really so so at this place but the food is good so we just deal with it. The chopped salad is the absolute best! Can’t go wrong with a meal. We prefer to sit and eat at the bar to ensure good service.
Very nice. It was our first time there but won’t be our last. Homemade pastas were very good
Loved thier version of a whiskey sour , and the antipasto!
Decided we needed a change so went on Wednesday evening and selected the date night price fix.
Good value - enjoyed the meal.
Amazing food, humble and at home experience. Great place for a date night or family dinner.
As always, the arugula salad was delicious and enough for two to share. I had the bronzino which is my absolute favorite. We all had something different and everyone enjoyed every bite. The sorbet and gelato was a wonderful finale!
Service was excellent. A lot of nice touches for our anniversary, a card on the table, some bubbles for a toast. Lauren, our server was extremely helpful! Food was amazing and there were many options. Will definitely go back.
