    The Palace Cafe is one of our favorite dining spots whenever we’re in New Orleans. And on this trip, we’d like to give a special recognition to our waiter Freddie. He is reminiscent of the old-school elegant waiters who took immense pride in what they did - superb!

    Everything we ate was delicious. The oyster appetizer and crab cheesecake were some of our favorites. I especially liked the salad with apples, pecans and goat cheese. It was a great combination of flavors and a nice sized salad. Of course the eggs Benedict with the pork was outstanding with huge portions on our plates. Service was excellent and we had a good time.

    Good and service were great, the place in general could use some cosmetic updates and that’s the only reason they didn’t get 5 stars from me…but the pasta, duck,and burger was all delicious as was the cocktails!

    I visited Nola for my birthday and had a really nice time. Palace Cafe was definitely the highlight of the trip. I went specifically to have a bananas foster and it was everything I hoped it would be.

    Beautiful, a classic in Nola. Delicious brunch menu with live jazz music. Stands outs Where the crab Quiche and the pulled pork eggs Benedict dish  for the surd of bananas foster of course! What a show made table side!

    Beautiful restaurant, ladies at coat check were very friendly. The fried oysters and chocolate mousse was very good. Underwhelmed by the seafood pasta. Portion size was disappointing and overpriced. The shrimp was slightly tough, and and the meal itself was bland. The scallops was the saving grace as they were cooked properly.

    We were there for dinner before a show at the Saenger with a group of 6 friends. SERVICE: The service was very good and the pace our waiter, Tucker, set was perfect for a dinner with friends. We never felt rushed by him and never felt like we had to wait. That being said we did have rush out at the end because we needed to get to the show. I bring this up only because the pace Tucker set was perfect for dinner with a bunch of friends but, had we let him know we were going to a show I am confident he would have paced it perfectly. So if you are going to the Orpheum or Saenger tell your waiter. DRINKS: Drinks were good and priced as you would expect in NOLA. I personally had the milk punch and it was very good. APPS: We split a few orders of the crabmeat cheesecake and the fried oysters amongst us all and Tucker's recommendation for amount was perfect. ENTREES: My wife and I shared (2 meals are better than one) the Andoille Crusted Gulf Fish and the Fruits De Mar Pasta. The sauce with the fish was very good and the fish was cooked perfectly. The pasta that came with the seafood was cooked perfectly and the butter wine sauce with it was very good...not too buttery and not too boozey. The scallops were a little too salted for our taste but cooked very well. DESERT: My wife and I split a maple torte which was a good dessert. The texture of the custard was perfect but we both felt the maple flavor was a bit lacking. I think this is the one thing we wouldn't order again. OVERALL: A very good restaurant which we would both return to and recommend to other locals. We would recommend all the food we had.

    Jazz brunch is delightful! Jazz trio is established and talented. Food is delicately seasoned with healthy ingredients. Drinks are delicious. Staff is very welcoming and attentive.

    We had a great experience on Thanksgiving night! Colby our waiter was fantastic and so attentive! All the staff was so kind. The food was amazing! I had the traditional Thanksgiving Dinner and other had the filet and shrimp and scallop pasta. All the food was great! We were also celebrating my mom's birthday and they lit a candle for her dessert. We had a great time! I would definitely recommend!

    They didn’t get it right the first time but invited my children and I back after the thanksgiving parade for the opportunity to make the situation right. The service was absolutely worth it! A special thanks to Ms Katie Ms Claudia and Mrs Kadisha for going above and beyond to ensure our second experience was rave worthy!!

    We came back here with high expectations from our previous visit. However this time was very different. Service was slow, but the server was great when she came. The biggest problem was our food. We were sitting near the kitchen, and got to watch the ins and outs, which was a good and bad thing. I ordered a seafood pasta dish, and another server tried to deliver it to another table twice. It wasn’t their order, so it was brought back to the kitchen, they put it under the lamps and 25 minutes go by and it was delivered to our table with the rest of our food. We were shocked they let something sit there for 25 minutes after touching numerous hands and send it out again. We told the server what happened and she said well If it’s not good I’ll send it back. The plate was luke warm at best and we asked her to make a new one. It came out about 10 minutes later. Just crazy to think that is allowed! We probably will find a new spot after that incident, definitely not worth the money spent.

    It was Saturdays night at 7:30. We were seated quickly and attended to in a few minutes. The waitress was cordial and knowledgeable . The salads were wonderful and entrees delicious. My only comments was the wines could be better. We chose not to drink the "house" brands. My cabernet was heavy and too sweet. The Pinot Gris was a bit thin. I'd recommend the place to anyone, just be careful with your wine selection.

    We had a wonderful meal and experience at Palace Cafe. We even were serenaded by a trio walking through the restaurant. Right on the busy Canal street of New Orleans. Our meal was delicious. Our server, Michaela was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the werlein salad and the house salad with fresh bread/butter. The filet was cooked perfectly as well as my husbands fruits de mer (scallops, shrimp and crabmeat) over homemade spaghetti! Dessert we split, as we were almost full but needed the sweet to finish off a delicious meal! Crème brûlée was perfect. We will return to enjoy more of what the menu has to offer! We enjoyed watching our waitress prepare the flaming bananas foster to a neighboring table! Looked delicious!

    First time back in 4 years, I dined for brunch. There is a depreciation in quality versus pricing. Had to ask the server to correct my salad. Bib lettuce salad ($9)came with 4 lettuce leaves. I added Oysters ($14) came with 4. It looked so sad that the manager apologized and mentioned he is working with the kitchen team. Not sure why the server even brought it to the table with a straight face. The oysters were delicious but for the pricing on the menu should have received at least 6 at minimum. Based on this past experience I will not return, the experiencial atmosphere of New Orleans charm and great hospitality has diminished.

    Service was good, but our waiter had a lot of tables with a lot of guests so we felt like we were forgotten about a little. My steak was very cold when it finally came out and my wife’s pasta was a little warmer. Over all would not recommend.

    I’ve got to tell you everybody raved about the Palace Café when I made the reservation. We went. The restaurant is beautiful the food was not good. Our server was good. I do hate when our appetizers come out and beat our drinks to the table. I wouldn’t go back

    Lovely anniversary dinner. We were seated upstairs which was lovely and much more quiet which I appreciated. Our server Tucker was attentative and personable. The food was delicious and the table side bananas foster was the happy ending! Staff was so polite and I can’t wait to go back.

    This made our third time dining at Palace Cafe, and we were very disappointed . Our past experience was superb between service , food , and atmosphere . This visit our service was slow in between courses . Appetizer of crabmeat cheesecake was not like we had remembered. The sauce was too roux tasting . I got the Tuna Nicoise Salad. Presentation was pretty with tuna sliced across a bed of greens., however tuna was over cooked and dry. It was not lightly seared (rare) as described. No seasoning . Bed of greens was saturated with a very sweet citrus dressing surrounded by tiny red potatoes with cherry tomatoes , and olives . Very bland. Coffee ordered asked for cream and honey for my husbands coffee . ( A request for honey we usually have to ask for ) Server brought our coffee , cream , and honey . I waited for him to bring the usual sugar condiments that never came until I motioned to our server . He responded you didn’t say you wanted sugar! Dessert came 30 mins after our coffee which we were compensated for delay in getting our desserts. The white chocolate cheesecake usually a very memorable dessert was dense and not as in the past. We had reservations for 6:30. Restaurant was not crowded at the time we arrived . Disappointed.
