My family ordered traditional Thanksgiving fare and since they have been spoiled by my excellent Thanksgiving dinners past, they were not impressed. I ordered the beet salad, which was awesome and the crab cheesecake, which needs no introduction. My experience was a solid 4 out of 5. Theirs was a 2-3 out of 5,

Was expecting more but was not satisfied. Not enough cheese in Brie appetizer it was all pastry and jam. Service was not up to par for an upscale restaurant. Coffee was served with no cream and sugar. By the time it was brought to table the coffee was cold. Also ordered a coffee with Frangelica but got a coffee with Frangelica with ice on side. By the time this was fixed coffee was cold. Seemed like server just gave up and forgot about us. Bill needs to be itemized. Not sure if waiter took off extra drink that was a mistake. Will not be returning.

We came for the jazz brunch. Food was fantastic as always with the best catfish in town, and I could eat a piece of crab cheesecake every day. It’s that good!! We were very disappointed however that in the hour we were there we heard only 5 minutes of jazz music. It was a shame.

We're staying at the Marriott for the weekend, for our national conference, and caught dinner tonight at the Palace - super convenient, as it's literally right next door. SO glad we did. Super chill vibe, VERY friendly staff. We had 5:45 reservations and arrived early, but they sat us right away. Our server, Dorothy, was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable - a delight. The Baked Brie appetizer was tasty; perfect coupling with sliced apples. My wife had the The Werlein salad with roasted chicken added; I had the Shrimp Tchefuncte. Both were FANTASTIC. The shrimp were absolutely DELICIOUS - and Kelly's salad was excellent (I helped her finish it). The Bananas Foster dessert - made by Dorothy table-side - was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. All for under $100. For those staying at the Marriott or other nearby hotels, and looking for a super convenient and delicious meal coupled with a great vibe, TRY THE PALACE.

We had a party of four - one steak had to be sent back as it was very overcooked, Another entree was barely edible - the other 2 were fine. Wine with our dinner arrived as we were finishing up. Manager offered us a free dessert due to our complaints but more mediocre food was not really what we had in mind. I guess there was a reason we were able to get a reservations so easily when many other restaurants were full. There are many other better options.

Was concerned about the restaurant because of recent reviews. So glad I didn't believe them! Not sure why people are so quick to be negative anymore. Coming in from out of town, we loved the Sunday Brunch. The music was live, and the food was fantastic. Service was great. I will go back when I get back to New Orleans.

We were in New Orleans for a 40th birthday all girls weekend. We had heard good things about this place however those comments from others were not what we experienced. The Brie appetizer had absolutely NO Brie in it. Our waitress was attentive AT FIRST. However, after when we sent the second Brie back for the same reason she did not return too much except to bring our food. My fish entree was good but only lukewarm, my daughter’s hamburger was cold but she was so hungry she ate it. My other daughter’s shrimp on her Caesar salad was cold. My sisters chicken Caesar salad came out with NO chicken on it. So, I do not think I will return here and neither will any of our party-total of 7 people. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone and neither will my girlfriends.

Was really looking forward to this dinner and was extremely disappointed. Restaurant is poorly managed. Servers were doing everything with no help. Food was average at best. Ambiance was not good—please dim the lights at dinner. Overall very sloppy and unprofessional from front of the house to the kitchen. Expected much more from a DB restaurant. If you’re heading to New Orleans skip Palace Cafe.

Dinner at the Palace Cafe should be on everyone's New Orleans restaurant list. The food lives up to the Brennan name, and the service is always on point. No less important is total value... proof that you can enjoy a fabulous meal in beautiful surroundings without exceeding the credit limit...and don't forget to visit the Black Duck upstairs for an after dinner drink.

Drinks and service were good. Food was hit or miss….unfortunately when it missed, it missed Hard. Shrimp Bisque was not bisque and bad. “Rare seared tuna” was over cooked & stuck into a refrigerator before being taken out & plopped unapologeticly onto a decent salad. I will not waste my money or occasion in this place again. Brennan’s restaurants are typically a lot better than this.

Overall, our Sunday brunch was a disappointment. While our appetizers were delicious, crabmeat cheesecake and baked brie, the entrees were mediocre at best. We both ordered the Palace Cafe Benedict and they were cold upon arrival. We politely complained & the manager had 2nd entrees prepared. I saw the 2nd order arrive at the server's station & there it sat for 6 minutes before our server saw it. In fairness, no one told her it arrived. This time our entrees were slightly warmer, but still not hot which is what one expects for eggs Benedict with a tasso gravy. We also waited forever for coffee & that was tepid as well. I expected more from a restaurant that is named as one of New Orleans' best for brunch. I would not go back or recommend it.

The menu seems to have been dramatically reduced which is a shame. My guest was surprised they had no decaffeinated tea. The server, a woman, was very good and was patient with my guest who took a long time to order. The front desk staff were welcoming. The guy who actually brought the plates had no idea whose was whose though.

Really disappointed. We’ve always booked a dinner at Palace Cafe whenever we visit NOLA, but it’s really slipped. Menu is tired. Other than the fried oyster appetizer (which was very good) everything else was blah -eatable but disappointing. Service was spotty - one minute wait staff are all over you like they are rushing to turn the table and then no one checks in on you for long stretches of time. Seems like the restaurant/menu is stuck in the 1980s or 1990s and really needs a refresh.
